Nick Cannon is trying to be celibate: ‘I’m going to see if I could make it to 2022′

A little over a week ago Nick “I had four kids in a year” Cannon announced that he was taking a break from having kids after his therapist told him to be celibate. At the time I wondered why Nick conflated sex with procreation. Well, it seems Nick is now trying to follow his therapist’s advice. During Revolt’s Drink Champs Show, Nick said that he is gonna try to stay celibate until 2022. Below are a few more details via Insider:

The “Masked Singer” host currently has seven children, four of whom were born in less than a year with three separate women. Cannon also has two 10-year-old twins with his ex-wife Mariah Carey and a four-year-old with model Brittany Bell.

“I’m celibate right now,” Cannon said in the interview with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. “I’m going to see if I could make it to 2022. I’m trying to chill out.”

The “Wild N Out” host continued: “I’m kind of stepping away, getting focused, going within, getting my celibacy on. I have enough children, enough frolicking, I’m good right now.”

To this, the show’s hosts laughed and N.O.R.E responded: “Nobody believes you right now.”

“I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I’ve experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too,” Cannon said during the interview. “The Lord has blessed me with what I asked, but ask and you shall receive. “

2022 Nick? Like is Nick waiting until January 1, 2022? Will he be working on why he wants to have all these kids and if it is attached to his illness? I make all these points without judgement. The “nuclear family” model should not be used to judge whether or not a family makeup is healthy or not. I also like understanding why Nick wants a big family. The fact that he came from an unconventional family may have been the catalyst. This is not how I would go about creating a large family but to each his own.

I still want to know why Nick is conflating being celibate to not having kids. Yes, you need sex to procreate but that is not the only reason to do the horizontal mamba. I really hope that Nick’s therapist helps him connect to why he feels that he needs to be having sex with multiple women AND getting many of them pregnant. Also, I will continue to say that Nick is at least being intentional (I use that term loosely) about procreating versus some of these folks out here doing drive-bys with their sperm (I am looking at you Future). I do hope that this situation doesn’t get messy for the children’s sake. Wishing everyone in this situation a happy future.

I’ve always found him incredibly annoying, unattractive & not funny.
What do these women see in him?

  2. Summergirl says:

I’m confused by this situation. Is he actually in a relationship with any of these women? Or does he just sleep with them sometimes and basically donate sperm?

  3. Snuffles says:

    Just wear a rubber dude.

    • BothSidesNow says:

I know, it can’t be that hard to wear one. You don’t need to populate the entire world, everyone else is doing their part. Stop having sex, period and raise your children now. You made them, you take care of them.

I remember a nurse spoke to us girls our freshman year in college – the week before spring break. She stressed the use of condoms and said: and if he says it doesn’t fit because it’s too tight, watch this -(and then proceeded to shove her hand in the condom as well as her entire arm. And concluded with this: No man is THIS big and if he is – stay away from him. It is BURNED into memory.

  4. Seraphina says:

Why is it that every time I read what he says, I feel like I’m the one losing brain cells.

  5. Amanda says:

Why not just get a vasectomy?

  6. Veronica S. says:

You don’t need to be celibate, dumbass. Just use a condom. I’m sure he thinks he’s funny. All I see are four kids he’s likely barely raising while the women do all the work.

    • Amanda says:

Yeah, I don’t get it. Does he not know what birth control is? Or maybe he doesn’t believe in it? Idk.

    • BothSidesNow says:

He is probably one of those a$$holes that doesn’t like the way condoms feel, as an excuse that they can’t enjoy sex with one on. This has been a lie that men have used for decades. Don’t buy it one bit. If he doesn’t want to wear a condom, then get a vasectomy. Two little snips and he’s done, hopefully!!

He’s an idiot. You only have to look at the show Sister Wives to see that having a harem of women and having multiple children with them only leads to toxicity and unhealthy situations down the road. People get jealous about time, attention, and resources. It might be all hunky dory now (which I don’t believe for a second it is) but as those kids get older, things will get messier. I’m not saying that children need two parents in the home to grow into stable and well-adjusted individuals, that’s not the case for a lot of people. I doubt any of Nick’s kids will appreciate his slutty ways as they grow up (not sure if that’s okay to say but since men so rarely get slut-shamed I don’t feel bad about it here).

OMG, enough about this man’s sex life!

  9. Lunasf17 says:

Would you rather get a job for the next two decades or have his baby and be set with a home and bigger income than most jobs would provide? I don’t think it’s the best way to have a baby IMO but job options are often so crappy for women that I understand that women would choose a career being Nick cannon’s (or whatever celebs)baby mama over having to go to an office for the next 18 years.

Looks like someone got the child support bills…

  11. Valerie says:

    Is he anti-vaxx too?

  12. Grant says:

Or maybe just use a condom??

Hold on. He’s the only man that went on record against Chris Brown after Brown beat up Rihanna. (He said something like, “it’s never right for man to hit a woman” when no other man would say anything. Second, he was excellent in Drum Line. He always seemed to me low-key, relaxed, funny and easy to get along with. Of course he needs to use a condom. But I do think he’s a good guy despite the fecundity.
