I’ve been against this movie ever since the extreme misogyny and racism men gave the 2016 reboot’s cast. Glad it sucks.

    • milliemollie says:

And now these men will call the new Ghostbusters a masterpiece…

    • FancyHat says:

Exactly and I loved the 2016 version. It was wacky and over the top just like the originals

    • bee says:

Yup. This. The 2016 version was cleverly written with lots of references to the original films. It was so funny and fun! There should have been a sequel to that instead.

    • lucy2 says:

Same here. I really enjoyed that one, and I feel like this one was made so they could pretend that one didn’t happen.

    • TheOriginalMia says:

Yep. After the way they acted about the all-female cast, they can miss me with this one.

    • Singtress says:

I love this site, but I have to respectfully say I find widely different views here.

This is the only place I’ve seen anything bad about the news Ghostbusters.
Nobody thinks it will be the best movie of all time.
But the people who were around for the first are exited to see a sequel done “right” and go back to their childhoods for an hour or two.

Sometimes I think we need to lessen the grip on our complaints of the world.
Unless we are talking about Blazing Saddles.
I say this loving Mel Brooks. That moving horrifies me.

      • whatWHAT? says:

why does Blazing Saddles “horrify” you?

      • Becks1 says:

What does it mean for a sequel to be “done right” and why wasn’t the 2016 version “done right”?

      • Sigmund says:

Actually, the only other review I’ve seen of this movie was negative. I think it was from the AV Club, but I’m not 100%. So it’s definitely not just celebitchy.

    • whatWHAT? says:

and isn’t Reitman kind of an awful person?

I know he said some rude crap about the female-centered Ghostbusters, but I thought there was some other reason he was kind of a jerk?

Tick tick boom! looks interesting but I hate when they put punctuation like that in titles. However I’m offended that his crisis is because he’s turning 30- as a 29 year old I find that awful. Also Andrew Garfield has a personality? Or can fake one convincingly?? Will always watch something for my girl Vanessa. Except maybe Princess Switch 3.

    • Singtress says:

I think you’re gonna have to meet Jonathan Larsen on the Other Side to complain about your tick tick boom items.

  3. detritus says:

The embroidery on that sweater is aggressively ugly.

  4. Ana170 says:

Soulless mess is what I picked up from the trailer. Everything about it just seems lazy, including the casting. Paul Rudd is who you cast when you can’t come up with any other ideas.

    • Emma says:

Lol didn’t they want him because he’s so SEXXAY? So much SEXXAYer than Oscar Isaac or Jason Momoa or Yahya Abdul-Mateen II or Jonathan Majors?

      (That was sarcasm of course.)

  5. Theothermia says:

So happy about the Frida Kahlo painting story 🙂 she’s such an icon and Diego Rivera really did not treat her like she deserved 💜 her artwork is head and shoulders above his. So much richer in brushwork than Rivera’s stunted lil marks. His giant murals are cool, and they inspired asshats like Pollock to work big… But Frida Kahlo is just a master in a class above. Her paintings hit different than anyone else 💜💜

    • Cee says:

The painting was purchased by an argentine billionaire who owns a museum in Buenos Aires which houses his extensive art collection, MALBA.
Hopefully we will get to see this paiting, too!

  6. melladne says:

    Yellowjackets is GREAT.

    • ME says:

It really is. Reminds me a bit of Lord of the Flies. So many mysteries to be solved. The casting is great !

  7. Lena says:

I thought the trailer looked great for the next ghostbusters & I was looking forward to seeing it. Oh well, you really can’t judge anything by a trailer even though I keep getting sucked in by them.

  8. L84Tea says:

Well that sucks. I have tickets to see that Saturday night. 🙁

  9. Jules says:

I don’t watch much tv but I’m definitely tuning in to Reno 911 hunting for Qanon.

  10. IMARA219 says:

Ahh, that sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing this one. Hubby doesn’t care for reviews in general so we’ll see it when it streams.

  11. grabbyhands says:

Well, at least we can rest easy knowing that the fanboys whose childhoods were retroactively ruined by the 2016 reboot have a sequel to watch that doesn’t contain too many of the vaginas they all seem so threatened by.

  12. Laxmom says:

Has Vanessa had some subtle work done? She looks different. Different – but actually she looks really great.

  13. Slats says:

The film bros were ready to hate the female reboot, no matter what it was like because “eww woke” Their counterparts were ready to hate the latest reboot, no matter what it was like, in retaliation.

  14. The Recluse says:

We’re still planning on seeing it. I haven’t trusted reviewers since reviews persuaded me to see Broadcast News. I didn’t enjoy that film, but it was praised to the skies, which I understood why: the subject matter, but I just didn’t enjoy it. Some reviewers were picking apart The Green Knight, but I found it different and engrossing.
And I still think the reboot of Ghostbusters with the female cast should have been a next generation adaptation. it was impossible trying to replicate the original film’s comedic impact with the Stay-puft marshmallow man.

  15. Deering24 says:

The best Ghostbusters sequel was the TV spin-off “The Real Ghostbusters.” Terrific writing and genuinely scary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Ghostbusters

Though the 2016 reboot was way better than reputed. “I can think of seven great uses for a corpse _today._” 😈🤣

  16. Jane says:

nonsense.. certainly had far more “soul” than the previous remake…
