Tori Spelling rebukes Star Mag: “I’m 107 pounds”

Earlier this week, we covered Star Magazine’s current cover story, “95 lbs! Tori Spelling Collapses!” What was strange about it (in my mind) was that Star didn’t really spend too much time on the “Tori Spelling is too thin, she must have an eating disorder” part of the gossip. Instead, the story was mostly about how Tori is really upset after reading or hearing about Dean McDermott’s ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace’s book. Eustace’s book is full of many, many stories about Tori and Dean, and Star happily excerpted even more. Star’s report made it sound like Tori was really, really stressed out, and that’s why she was hospitalized last week.

Tori took to her Twitter account to rebuke the “LIES” in Star’s report. But all she really corrects is her weight, not the part about Mary Jo’s book. Star claimed Tori weighs “95 lbs!” when Tori claims she actually weighs 107 pounds. Eh. Really? I’d actually put her at something closer to 115 pounds, given her height and those massive, disgusting implants. Saline counts when you’re calculating your weight, Tori!

Here’s the skinny. Tori Spelling is slamming a Star cover story that alleges she collapsed and had to be rushed to the ER for being drastically underweight at 95 pounds.

The Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood star, 36, took to her Twitter account to set the record straight.

“Star Mag…LIES!” she posted Thursday. “Literally not 1 factual thing in entire article. And, come 2 my house & weigh me Star! I’m 107lbs. if you care about FACTS?!?”

The tabloid alleges that a painfully thin Spelling collapsed after an “angry showdown” with husband Dean McDermott, whose ex-wife has written an incriminating tell-all.

The 90210 alum was indeed admitted to the hospital twice within 24 hours on Sept. 29 — but for an undisclosed stomach ailment, her rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com.

Spelling has come under fire in the past for her thin frame, but told Us Weekly in June: “I am healthy…I am a busy working mom!” The actress went on, adding that she’s “always gotten” picked on for her slim body size.

“This is my weight, and I’m not unhealthy,” Spelling insisted. “I’m very healthy. It is hard to be criticized in public, and it’s harder for your family to deal with it than you. You kind of get a thick skin. When you have kids and when you have a husband, it’s upsetting.”

[From Us Weekly]

Well, I guess it’s nice that a celebrity responded directly to a tabloid lie. However, the problem with that is the sin of omission. Since Tori didn’t directly respond to the part of the story about Mary Jo’s book, can we assume it’s true? There in lies the rub, celebrities. I do applaud Tori for “revealing” her weight though – I don’t think many celebrities would do that to correct a tabloid story. Revealing your weight is like revealing how many people you’ve slept with.

    She still looks too thin.

  2. Rosie says:

I remember watching 90210 and she was always very thin, but not unnaturally. Plus she has a very thin from and ruler shaped body. Not that I don’t think she works out like a fiend, but I don’t think she is anorexic.

  3. Jillian says:

OK, Star was 12 lbs off. She was very brave for revealing her weight.

  4. Lem says:

revealing your weight akin to revealing how many you’ve slept with. omg lol that’s funny! Not sure which I’d rather tell you.

she’s taller right? Like 5’7″- 5’9″ 107 would be unhealthy. it’s so damn hard to read hollywood bodies through pics. I’m kind of an expert on guessing weight and I would have guessed a few more than than. She even has a bit of muscle mass. Hmm I’m confused.

  5. buenavissta says:

Don’t care about the actual numbers; she’s still looks disturbingly skinny and not at all healthy to me.

  6. hatsumomo says:

I dont buy it. There is something seriously wrong with that woman’s weight. 107 my ass. She is way thinner than that. And don’t say its just genetics. I know what genetics can do with a skinny girl’s body, just look at my middle sister. She weighed 95 lbs when she become pregnant with my niece and later my nephew and her heaviest was 140 during both pregnancies. She is 120 and still looks way better than Tori. And she grew boobies during her pregnancies and they are real. But 107?!?! She has got to have some eating problems. or something is going on that she aint telling.

  7. nAynAy says:

She certainly doesn’t look healthy, at all. I’m worried about her, and she’s just brushing it off like it’s no big deal. She looks almost anorexic to me.

  8. GatsbyGal says:

95, 107…doesn’t matter, she’s still way too thin. She looks like she’s dying, or like she has intestinal worms.

  9. Kirsten says:

I don’t think she looks too thin. I am not denying the fact that she is VERY SKINNY, but she doesn’t look sickly… plus she is short so she can get away with pulling a 107… i think everyone should just leave her weight alone.

  10. Risa says:

Maybe she wants to be in the Ralph Lauren Ads too?!?!

  11. Lantana says:

About saline implants counting for weight, Kaiser, I actually don’t agree that it would count. The saline implants don’t turn calories into fat, quite the opposite. They’re almost like having a built-in gym. See, if you get a 4 pound implant on each side, it’s like you’re carrying around 8 extra pounds, which in turn builds up more muscle in your legs and core, which in turn burns more calories. When you want to build more core strength and muscle, you can move up to 8 pound implants on each side and get into even better shape. And just keep going with that. I am pretty sure this is how Dolly Parton stays in such amazing shape.

  12. Kathie says:

Too fat, too thin too this too that! Really? it is disgusting how weight is used as a ruler for a good/not good life in this country! Maybe she doesn’t eat because her stomach is upset from all the criticism and just let her gain a few pounds and wear the wrong jeans in the wrong pose and see what happens. All those “she’s too thin” people start calling her sasquatch, fat, porky and whatever other cruel names they can think of..lay off and maybe people will just be a healthy weight for them.

  13. the original kate says:

when your head is so much bigger than your body that you look like you will topple over, you are too thin.

  14. Emma G says:

she is 5ft 6, at 107 she is in the “unhealthy” weight range. It’s sad that people here think she looks fine and is not too skinny, I hope none of you have children:(

  15. lrm says:

definitely, she looks very thin and unhealthy/sickly. seriously….not good. but, body image begins on the inside….Tori.

  16. crash2GO2 says:

Well, I think it’s good she revealed her weight. She’s been laboring under the assumption that 107 is a healthy weight for a small framed 5’6″ woman of her age, when in fact, she falls well into the underweight category with a BMI of around 17. Maybe someone will talk some sense into her.

Wow @Kathie – did we strike a nerve?

  17. crash2GO2 says:

    LOL – @ Latana

  18. xs says:

If she were in her late teens or early 20’s it might be okay for her to weigh so little. However, she’s now past 35 (I realize that’s not old) and as we age being too thin just looks unhealthy. I think maybe she’s just overworked trying to support her kids and her HUSBAND in the lifestyle he’s grown accustomed to.

  19. Team Eustace says:

    107 pounds of FUGLY!

  20. Wowza says:

    That is one homely woman.
I’d love to see what’s in those grocery bags – 15 heads of icerberg lettuce and a dozen grapefruits?

  21. Heavenbound says:

    You are right XS:

She does support her HUSBAND, what a LOSER.

  22. angie says:

im 5’2 and im 95 pounds.. (im 20).im really skinny and i wish i was in my ideal weight, but gaining is harder than losing and some of us wish could gain the necessay amount of pounds..

for some girls is just hard to gain (i’ve tried it almost all) because of our natural body shape..but being skinny or “looking unhealthy” doesnt mean that we want our bodies to look like that and you people who say that should consider that those critics dont apply for some people.. is just like judging an overweight person (even a little overweight)..its just rude and annoying.. if you think is unhealthy or discusting well then ur sick cause u should take care of ur business and your own weight.

i hate when people tell me that im so skinny and petite although i dont look anorexic…im trying to gain weight ok and if im wrong..then i’ll start to call overweight people that they look fat too!
    sux!

  23. teehee says:

107 in my mind just aint a healthy weight for no grown woman… or at least it doesnt look healthy on her at all!!
    I am 5’7″ and was 122 pounds at my thinnest naturally;
when I was at the height of my anorexia I was 112– and only for ONE DAY!!! LOL then I was always above that…

  24. valerie says:

She looks way too thin here, and frankly I think her child looks a little thin too.

  25. nnn says:

I am 5’8″ and weight 125 lbs. The lighter i weighted is 115 lbs.

Tory is 5’6″ she needs 10 lbs to be healthy thin.

I was always thin, so are every member of my family including the extended cousins ones.

For some people i am too skinny cause skinnier than the avergae gal, but i am healthy. Tory isn’t. I know healthy skinny when i see one and she was a few years ago, not now.

  26. Peace Committee says:

Give her the NPP. In fact every poster here, can have an NPP.

  27. Bambi says:

It doesn’t matter how much she weighs, she still looks like crap.

  28. Nebraska says:

Tori would look beautiful with another 40-50 pounds on her frame coupled with working out to stay thin and not starving herself. A low maintainance excercise is to wear steel toed boots which are heavy, and take the stairs when ever possible. This slowly builds your legs and your glutes.

  29. Todd says:

Her Mom should have left, or give her a few million so she can chill out and live the life shes used to!!! I give her a ton of credit for trying, but it looks like all the stress of EVERYTHING might be killing her! She needs to put her health first!

  30. lucy2 says:

She looks way too thin and sickly. I know she was always very thin, but she never looked unhealthy before, like she does now.

  31. Trey says:

You know what, given her weight and assumed diet I bet she went to the hospital for extreme constipation. It sounds like the visits didn’t warrant her staying in the hospital so my guess is they did a procedure/gave meds and then let her go. Not making a poopy for 2 weeks can be considered a medical emergency.*

*this would be even funnier if I was talking about Goopy.

  32. liz says:

she is fine. I am 5 6′ and 113 pounds, a whole 5 pounds more than her. I eat soooo much. almost everything a girl could desire and then some and you know what? I work out! when you work out….you can eat whatever you wanted and still weigh nothing! it makes A HUGE DIFFERENCE, BELIEVE IT OR NOT! leave her alone, she is fine. as long as you have BALANCE in your life, it doesn’t matter.

  33. Hieronyus Grex says:

107 pounds? Yeah, all of it in your fake tits. 🙄
