Kat Dennings’ cat hated all her ex boyfriends except for her now fiance

Kat Dennings is promoting Dollface, her Hulu comedy centering around a group of friends. The second season is airing now. It looks funny from the trailer, it has good ratings and I might watch an episode or two. Kat was on The Ellen Show virtually. She got engaged during lockdown and she regularly posts photos with her hunky fiance, musician Andrew W.K. Kat said that her cat Millie, a fluffy tiger kitty she adopted as a kitten, has hated all of her boyfriends and has openly shown her displeasure toward them except for Andrew. It sounds like her cat knows he’s a decent human. This story has the added twist that Andrew is allergic to cats – except for Millie! Here’s some of what Kat told Ellen and the video is below.

On why her fiance is wearing a ring already
We’re not married yet, but we went to buy our wedding bands and were like ‘why don’t we wear them, who cares?’ There are no rules.

On her cat’s reaction to Andrew
Andrew is the first and hopefully the last man Millie has ever loved. She has despised every other person [I’ve dated]. She once waited overnight until an ex left the house and she peed on his pillow like it was her job.

Andrew is actually allergic to cats, he’s miraculously not allergic to Millie. The other day she was scratching at the bedroom door and I assumed she wanted to see her mother, me. She ran right past me and over to Andrew.

My mother is also allergic to cats and she’s not allergic to Millie.

This means that Andrew is a keeper definitely. Cats are discerning judges of character. I once saw a TikTok that said if a man doesn’t like cats it’s a bad sign, because cats make you win them over and don’t have blind loyalty like dogs. Also, who doesn’t like cats? They’re sweet creatures overall, although there are some terror cats which can scratch, bite and pee all over everything. I’m happy for Kat and hope she shares photos from her wedding, whenever it is. Millie should be in it!

Like Andrew, I’m allergic to some cats but not others. I want to get a cat again as I had some incredible cat overlords as a child and into my early 30s. I’m just afraid that I won’t be able to tell if I’m allergic to the cat until it’s too late. When my son moves out of the house for college I’m more likely to get a dog, but I wouldn’t mind a cat too. I will get all the pets to fill that void.

Guess Millie hated Hiddleston too lol.

Team Cat. seriously, if you can’t get along with cats, we have nothing to say to each other. (I don’t mean allergies, I mean if someone doesn’t understand how to approach a cat they’re not getting anywhere with me.)

Andrew WK used to do a lot of stuff to support Lil Bub (internet cat who died a few years ago RIP) and her charities. Millie knew that he was ok by Lil Bub so he was ok by her 😀

PS: get a cat! Go to a shelter and stick your face into various cats’ fur. You’ll be able to tell who makes you sneeze 😉.

Also, bring a blanket and see if they will swap it out for one the cat has been on for longer term exposure.

Purina has a Live Clear line that helps a lot with allergies.

I came here to say this. Before I even read the article, I was already thinking “of course she does, any human who has the approval of Bub is going to have universal cat approval!”

My mom just got checked for allergies- the Dr. told her short-haired orange cats are the worst for allergies. Not sure why orange cats in particular are worse, but the short hair will get ya eyes itching!
I have a Siberian Forest cat with a silky looong top coat —he barely sheds! Its my short haired dude that’s the cause of the hair tumbleweeds around the house….

I have a part Maine Coon with that kind of top coat, but he sheds a LOT, in chunks all over the house!
I’m allergic to cats too, but am usually ok unless it’s a bunch of them. I take allergy stuff daily though, I’d rather do that than live without cats!

Awwww so sweet! Millie is a great cat name for Cat Dennings!

My sister told me a story about her friends’ two cats who intensely disliked a couple they were all friends with. Turns out they embezzeled money and were addicted to heroin (which makes me think there was also a smell attached to them per the heroin).

I had friends who were allergic aswell and did not react to my beloved cat. Some cats do be like that.

Cats ALWAYS know what’s up. Merlin absolutely has his favorites and then there are those he refuses to even acknowledge and a couple that he leaves the room for when they show up. And then gives myself and MerlinsDad very vocal hell when they leave. (I’m iffy about them myself so…)

Cats are the best. I’m somewhat allergic but am fine with my own cats with a little allergy medication. If I go to someone else’s house, I’ll still pet & snuggle their cats even though I end up with a runny nose & a rash. Worth it.

I’m definitely a crazy cat lady, and will forever have and love cats. My husband is the exact same way, so I was so very happy when my precious boy loved him so much. We just lost our furbaby in August, 3 weeks before our wedding, and it was so hard (and still is). He was almost 16 (had him since he was 3 months old). I’m so thankful for my husband who truly loved him and was the best pet dad to our boy.
I just recently adopted a new kitten who actually looks a lot Millie! She’s a momma’s girl who is slowly warming up to my husband… If she doesn’t though, I’ll have to get rid of my husband.

    • MerlinsMom1018 says:

I am so sorry about the loss of your fur baby. I lost both of my cats more than 15 years ago and it has left a gaping hole so I understand.

It was touch and go with MerlinsDad at first too. I kept side eyeing the husband and just waited. Fortunately they both warmed up to each other, but it was close. Shame too, cuz MerlinsDad and I just celebrated 43 years together, but hey!!!! Priorities.

      • BeeCee says:

Thanks <3 my husband and I are child-free (and plan to stay that way) so our cats are our children.

Thank goodness you got to keep MerlinsDad! I'm sure he was sweating bullets for awhile! LMAO

That’s such a great story about Kat and her cat and their man. Men who are good with cats are so sexy.

    • KInChicago says:

LOVE the pet stories. I wish pictures were posted or could be posted so the pets could be admired!
