Madonna’s neighbors are suing to evict her over loud music & dancing

Madonna is in trouble, and frankly I just don’t understand why. Her neighbors have been complaining for years about what a nightmare she is – and it’s like… what’s wrong with them? Don’t they know they’re living next to a legend? Don’t they realize they should feel honored to receive anything from her at all, be in a nod in the hallway or the reverberations of her unreleased music? Some people are so ungrateful.

Last November, neighbors in Madge’s Upper West Side apartment building started complaining about the ridiculous, unbearable levels of noise she was subjecting them to for hours at a time, at all hours of the day. She had sued the co-op board in order to buy the apartment, which was adjacent to one she already owned. That’s right, they already disliked her enough to try to prevent her from buying more space in the building. She promptly turned it into a recording and dance studio, though she was required to give the building a schedule of when she’d be doing either of these noisy activities. However she hasn’t stuck to it at all, and residents have literally had to deal with blaring drums in the middle of the night.

Now one gutsy neighbor at the Harperley Hall apartments is taking on Madonna, via the co-op board. She’s suing the board for not getting Madge to shut the hell up – and the result may well be the Material Girl’s eviction.

Living above a musical icon apparently isn’t as fun as one might imagine, according to Madonna’s Manhattan neighbour, who has filed a lawsuit alleging the pop singer uses her flat as a rehearsal studio.

Karen George, who lives above Madonna in a ritzy Central Park West building, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday against the building’s co-op board, accusing it of not taking sufficent action against Madonna for excessive noise and disruption.

According to the lawsuit, neighbours have to deal with “blaring music, stomping and shaking walls” from Madonna’s $4-million US, seventh-floor apartment for up to three hours a day.

George also complained that “Madonna and one or more of her invited guests repeatedly dance and train… to unreasonably high-decibel, amplified music, causing noise and vibration to pour through the walls, ceilings and radiators.”

Officials representing the board say they have already threatened the entertainer with eviction if she didn’t contain the noise. The complaints started more than a year ago as she prepared for her Sticky and Sweet world tour.

Representatives for the singer have not issued comment.

Yay! Sorry but it’s hard to have any sympathy for Madonna in this one. Actually that’s fair to say about Madge on the whole. But I have yet to hear any explanation for her behavior. Madonna will do what Madonna wants to do, and the rest of you can just deal with it. How uptight are you, grandma, that you can’t handle a little drumming and some cymbals at 3:23 in the morning?

There have been off and on reports that Madonna has purchased a townhouse, and while that’s a better idea, it’s not a complete solution. Even with the nicest ones in NYC, there’s almost no space between them. Maybe a few feet at the most – 3 a.m. drumming is still going to be a problem. She won’t have shared walls and floors with people (how badly do you feel for the person living under Madonna’s practice space?), but loud thumpy Paul Oakenfold beats are still loud thumpy Paul Oakenfold beats. Just a little less so. Madonna’s best solution is probably building a place from scratch, and having it soundproofed. Or, you know, just plan on being an asshole for the rest of her life. Wonder which it’ll be?

what else from a narcisist? she’s surrounded by ‘yes’ people so she can do no wrong. and her fans are worse

  2. birdie says:

    asshole for all eternity

  3. e says:

Why can’t she just renovate a warehouse or something? She needs a standalone building for this mess. Or she could always lease space in a frat house!

    I detest this woman.

  4. QB says:

She should not live in a apartment complex if she can’t follow the rules.I would be piss off if I could not live in peace in my million dollar apartment.

  5. Stephie189 says:

Why can’t she better soundproof the apartments she currently owns? Wouldn’t that be possible?
How annoying it must be to have to deal with all the noise. That would drive me crazy.

  6. whatever says:

No surprises here. Of course, she doesn’t care about others, their peace or if they want to sleep at night. It’s all about ME< ME< ME. How self-centered, thoughtless and inconsiderate can one person be?

  7. Obvious says:

I’m team Madonna on this one. :
“I mean first you didn’t want me to move in and I had to sue you. Then I have to pay to renovate this apartment next to mine to turn it into a studio because you rude people wouldn’t do it for me-i mean how horrible are you all? And now just because I want to work around the clock and dance and listen to my music you are suing? I mean how horrible this world is. You should all be nice because I was once relevant!” (Obvious for Madonna)

ok, now that i’m done with that, can we be done with Madonna forever?

  8. badrockandroll says:

Man, I’d take her to the condo board just to get that blue thing off her head. Then I would get the by-law committee going on age appropriate dress codes.

  9. Green Is Good says:

A residential building where other people, you know, LIVE is no place for Vadge’s not sound-proofed dance and recording studio. That’s just her straight-up arrogance right there.

  10. trillium says:

I really really wish someone would lock her up for the heinous crime of imposing her selfish self on the world for the past 30 years. I cringe when I hear her music on the radio, have to turn to another station. A talentless pig.

  11. MARKY MARK says:

Madonna always has been and always will be a “TEENAGED GAY BOY”

  12. Kathie says:

CB please do me a favor and use the above header photo as your “default” pic of Madonna, I love when Celebs wear something absolutely atrocious and think because it is a “designer” item it’s hot and cutting edge. To them I would say someone had to “design” pink camouflage as well, doesn’t make it any less tacky.

she looks hawt in these pictures

  14. GatsbyGal says:

Why is she living in an apartment complex if she’s going to make so much noise? She has the money to buy a buttload of houses. Hell, she could probably buy that entire apartment complex. She should get evicted if she cannot stick to the rules, just everyone else living there. I’m sick of celebrities getting special treatment and slaps on the wrist.

  15. NFLer says:

Good–evict her butt. And what’s with the crucifix, she’s a Kabalah Girl n’est ce pas?

  16. original kate says:

    WTF is she wearing?

  17. paranel says:

What do you expect from a self centered has been old bitch who thinks she is the gift of god to all mankind? She should go away and die.
