Kaley Cuoco finalized her divorce from Karl Cook, nine months after their separation

I wasn’t sure if this had happened yet, but I guess now it’s official. Kaley Cuoco has been engaged three times and married twice, with each marriage lasting around three years. Her marriage to Karl Cook was a bit weird since they didn’t live together for most of it and they announced their plans to split last fall. Their divorce is official and final as of last week.

Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook finalized their divorce nearly nine months after announcing their split. According to documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Cuoco became legally single on Monday… which is probably welcome news for her boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey. Cuoco and the Ozark actor, 39, went public on social media last month.

Cook, a professional equestrian, and the 36-year-old Flight Attendant star were married for four years. They announced their split in a joint statement, but declared “there is no anger or animosity.”

“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” they shared. “We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together.”

In an interview for Glamour magazine, Cuoco admitted that being a workaholic has impacted her relationships. (Prior to Cook, she was married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting for 21 months.)

Cuoco vowed to never marry again, but told the magazine she was open to love.

“I love love. I’m not someone that wants to be by myself. I just need to figure out my priorities a little bit and make sure now I know that I need to water that relationship. It’s like a plant. Sometimes I get too focused on the garden instead of the specific plant that needs to be watered. And I am well aware of that. I want to change, I want to be better,” she shared.

Kaley still has her bustling career and has since moved on with Ozark actor Tom Pelphrey, with whom she went public this spring. And I guess Karl is riding horses somewhere and this is the end of his gossip life unless he gets with another celeb. Kaley has said she will never get married again and since she told Glamour that statement will live on in perpetuity. Let’s see if she sticks to it! She’d look a little silly if she went back on it after that public statement, but there’s probably a charming way to laugh it off and say it was before she met her true love. But from that whole interview, it does sound like she’s given it a lot of thought and work in therapy so she probably did mean what she said. Anyway, Kaley and Tom seem happy so this probably feels like a nice step forward for them.

For some reason, I thought after she made all of those comments about never getting married again, she would quit the relationship over share thing she’s done every. Single. Time.

Nope. Gotta get out the Instagram reel and trot out the new boyfriend, along with goats. Bless her heart.

I don’t follow her too closely, but any time I saw a story about Kaley and Karl, he always seemed like a jerk and the story oftentimes was of him making her the butt of a “joke.” So from that perspective, I’m glad the divorce is finalized.

I noticed that too about him. I follow her Insta and like her animal advocacy, family posts & and her Flight Attendant series. While I think a long distance marriage sounds like a very bad idea, as someone who knows nothing about what really happened, , I’m not placing all the blame on her.

    • Case says:

This. It seemed like he made fun of her and embarrassed her constantly, and not in a sweet, teasing way, but in a way that would really grate on the nerves. Wasn’t shocked they divorced.

That’s a move out of the insecure jerk playbook. Constantly put down your successful/beautiful partner to take her down a notch.

Oh yes, in love with being in love.

When the reality is used dental floss.

As someone who loves being single, I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a J.Lo or a Kaley Cuoco. I can’t even imagine what it is like to need to be in a relationship at all times or to be so in love with love that you get engaged multiple times. Sounds exhausting, but I hope this new boyfriend works out for her. He’s a great actor!

  5. Leigh says:

Eh, sounds like she’s a JLO type, loves love, can’t be alone, jumps from guy to guy. I used to judge people like this harshly since I’m very much not like this (although I still have trouble not side eyeing people who constantly get married, can’t you just be together w/o tying the knot?), but shit, life can be sad and lonely, who am I to begrudge people who actively seek out love and connection? Hope Tom and Kaley are happy!
