I’m sorry I missed covering the photos from Monday night’s LA premiere of Nope. Once I saw the photos, I was overcome by how many people came out to support Jordan Peele’s latest film. Peele has become one of those directors who direct “cultural event” movies. Watercooler movies, movies which cross demographics. It’s fascinating to see that in microcosm, at a red carpet premiere too. The Black excellence and Asian excellence on display on the carpet was really great. I’ll probably write something about the reviews when all of the embargos are over, but critics at the premiere have already been raving about Nope and calling it Peele’s latest masterpiece.
I’m including photos of Jordan Peele (who looked amazing in his custom purple suit) and his Nope actors: Daniel Kaluuya, Steven Yeun and Keke Palmer. Keke wore Marc Jacobs and I’m not in love with her look and I don’t think she loves it either. Also in attendance: Lupita Nyong’o (in a little black Brandon Maxwell dress), Steph and Ayesha Curry, John Boyega and newly single MICHAEL B. JORDAN.

Keke’s outfit looks so uncomfortable! Everyone else looks good.
I love KeKe and find her so beautiful but I don’t get it? Like she has great boobs and a great stomach, but I wish they would have picked just one to show off?
If she picked this I take it back, but I can’t help but feel like even an unknown but up-and-coming, hungry young stylist could have dressed her better, because I see better dressed women on various friends’ inspiration posts from TikTok and insta stories than this.

It’s all the style of recent and she pulls it off. I don’t hate it and it’s fine.
Argh she’s a gorgeous woman – who did this to her? The outfit is all wrong and the gloves don’t belong with the cut off bustier which is btw way too small for her and she is bursting out of it. The diamond necklace doesn’t belong either. All I can think of looking at this is that stylist needs her walking papers asap because if you can make a gorgeous woman like this miss this kind of opportunity you need to be fired. But that having been said I love Keke’s hair like this. I would have paired that exact hairstyle with a suit – similar to the gold one Jessica Chasten wore a while back. She would have shut it down had she down this.
Lupita is a goddess! Love the purple suit on Jordan Peele. This doesn’t seem like my kind of movie though I have to say I absolutely loved Get Out and spent months analyzing/processing that film.

Of the women pictured, only Lupita’s dress looks somewhat ok. But Ayesha Curry, wow, that looks like a man’s JC Penney shirt worn without pants. And Keke’s outfit looks like random pieces from Forever21. The guys look nice except for John, lol. Maybe he’s stopping by Trader Joes on the way home.

I love KeKe, but this is a no. Maybe her stylist tried a Zendaya esque look?? I’m excited about the movie.
Lupita looks GORGEOUS as always and I like Jordan Peele’s purple suit. Keke’s look reminds me of that bizarre outfit Sydney Sweeney wore to the MTV awards recently — I like two-piece outfits but I don’t get the belly button thing. Would like Keke’s outfit a lot more if the skirt came up higher on her waist.
