J.Lo & Ben Affleck plan to have a wedding party ‘in the next few weeks’

I genuinely think it was a good call for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck to slip away to Las Vegas and have a small, quiet wedding. I believed the unnamed source who told Page Six that J.Lo “has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed. She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!” As in, J.Lo was still a little bit traumatized by their canceled wedding all those years ago, not to mention how badly Ben sabotaged her and himself in the months before their canceled wedding. They had a small but meaningful ceremony in Vegas, and now it’s done and dusted. No cold feet, and they just had their big honeymoon in Paris. Time, perhaps, to plan for a very big, splashy wedding reception?

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are pulling out all the stops for their upcoming wedding celebration. Multiple sources exclusively tell Page Six that the newlyweds — who got legally hitched in Las Vegas on July 16 — have hired luxury event planner Colin Cowie to create the lavish wedding bash of their dreams.

One insider confirmed that the party will take place at Affleck’s 87-acre property in Riceboro, Ga., likely in the next few weeks.

Cowie has created some of the most extravagant soirées for some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Jordan, Nicole Kidman and even Lopez in the past. He and his team promise to give their clients everything from “a royal wedding of epic proportions [to] the most glamorous, sophisticated and tasteful backyard wedding.”

But his services are not for those with shallow pockets. According to Cowie’s website, his company — which has offices in New York and Los Angeles — produces national and international events “with budgets ranging from $25,000 to $25 million.”

A source previously told us Lopez and Affleck’s wedding celebration would be a multi-day affair and that there could be a party on the nearby St. Simons Island, known for its beautiful beaches, wellness retreats and a picturesque lighthouse. We were told that the two- or three-day ordeal would be for “everyone they love but could not invite” to their shock nuptials in Sin City.

The source also said the couple’s guest list includes famous pals Casey Affleck, Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel and Lopez’s “Shades of Blue” co-star, Drea de Matteo.

I would imagine their guest list would include all of their famous friends, and I can’t believe Leah Remini hasn’t been mentioned. J.Lo has two sisters too, and her mom and dad. Jen’s mom Guadalupe LOVES Ben too. Anyway, I think a wedding reception/party in Georgia sounds really nice. It will be a chance for J.Lo to have the “extra” celebration she’s dying to have, and Ben will like that they’re using his property, I think.

PS… In one of her last pap strolls in Paris last week, J.Lo carried the Hermes Picnic Kelly bag – made out of wicker and leather – which has a resale value of around $50K-$60K. Bonkers.

He usually looks miserable and hungover

    • Lauren says:

Ben’s misery is caused from Dunkin’ & ciggie withdrawal, plus being dragged around by J-Lo for photo-ops. What a nightmare.

      • Damsel says:

Ben dragged for pap photos? Ben who did a pap photoshoot with his girls when he was accused of groping ? Jennifer Garner was super pissed about that.Ben-Ana de Armas, anyone?

Strange they (their PR) would advertise this information to a gossip column unless they want paps/helicopters and press to camp out in Georgia in the dog days of August in the Deep South (hellacious-I’ve been there)!

As an aside I’m glad he wasn’t able to sell that gorgeous property because I know he put it up for sale before lockdown. He needs a retreat from Hollywood life I would guess just based on what I know about him.

That dress JLaw was wearing looks like a potato sack with shoelace straps. $625 to make you look like a character from the Grapes of Wrath.

That house in Georgia is gorgeous. I saw it in People magazine awhile back and fell in love. It’s also very remote so I can imagine them pulling this off without too much trouble. Not sure how I feel about the faux plantation vibe of the house though.

I have nothing except I like how “The source” also said the couple’s guest list includes famous *PALS* Casey Affleck….”

That jumped out at me too. I’m glad he and Ben have managed to maintain their “friendship” after all of these years, lol.

Heard they were coming to Savannah for a party shortly after the wedding, but then they popped up in Paris on their honeymoon. Thought it was canceled. Guess it’s back on.

It’s just an old story that TMZ,People and other outlets have already rehashed..I think nobody knows anything about them and it’s just made up stories.

      • Coco says:

If they are not doing pop strolls then they are running to the tabloids giving updates, or post updates on instagram. Lol let’s not act like they are private.

      • Ramona says:

I didn’t say that they were private,I’m just saying that these tabloids don’t know their moves or I don’t believe them.
In May or June, there was a story on Us Weekly saying that Jlo wanted a big wedding and Ben didn’t want that and everybody believed it…and it was clearly not true…
After the wedding, they say that they would have a party in Savannah and it’s clearly not what they did…
And Jlo has a newsletter so why does she need to run to tabloids ?She clearly is using her newsletter to conter the tabloid narrative which plagued them the first time…
Now like Harry and Meghan, I don’t believe anything that the tabloids write about them(or People maybe)…

      • Ramona says:

And I agree with you about the pap strolls, they are clearly doing them and they did too much during their Paris tour.I know they can be stealthy when they want to.
