Yung Gravy on his MILF romance: ‘Addison Rae’s dad wanted to fight me’

Yung Gravy, whose real name is Matthew Raymond Hauri, has found something to talk about with his new relationship with Sheri Easterling. Or, I should say, he’s found something the press will ask him about. (For those of you raising your hands, please refer to my earlier post to find out who these people are.) When we discussed the rapper’s blossoming romance with the Queen of the MILFs, I mentioned that Sheri’s ex, Addison Rae’s dad, entered the discussion, even though no one invited him. Monty Lopez and Sheri have supposedly been living apart for a year after his alleged affair with 25-year-old Renée Ash.

In my haste to put that post together, I got a few things wrong. Sheri and Addison are both huge influencers, of course. But Yung has 10 million followers himself. So, I’m making him out to be an unknown, which is clearly untrue. And how this relationship between him and Sheri went down was a little more orchestrated, it seems. Yung really has been trying to put out this idea that he’s into ‘MILFs’ for a while now. And he specifies the MILF part, not me. He floated the idea of dating Sheri publicly, but she reached out to him via DM and I guess they had a TikTok together before the VMAs. That’s when Monty first got involved. According to Yung, after that TikTok, Monty threatened him in some way.

It’s worth noting that ahead of their VMAs appearance, Yung hinted at their budding romance during a podcast episode in late July—which Monty seemed not to appreciate, with the latter posting a TikTok video telling the rapper to “watch what he says” before he gets “knocked down in a boxing match.”

In an interview with NME published Aug. 30, Yung shared that there’s “not a lot of downsides” to social media popularity, “other than Monty [Lopez].”

“Addison Rae’s dad wanted to fight me,” he said. “That s–t was just f–king entertaining I feel really bad for his daughter because he was really embarrassing.”
Although Yung noted he can easily respond to Monty’s challenge directly, he said simply chooses not to.

“I’m not really doing s–t,” he continued. “I can pick up my phone and film a 20-second video and post it. Then I got someone’s dad putting hours and hours into their day, trying to create a beef that I don’t have time for. It’s funny to look at. I get a giggle out of that.”

I said Monty threatened Yung in some way because I don’t understand Monty’s threat – is he going to be in the ring with Yung? Or is he going to put Yung in the ring with someone who can actually box? Maybe it’s just some cautionary words, those boxing mats can be slippery, be careful! I know Monty was trying to threaten Yung just short of litigation. Monty is desperately trying to stay relevant in this conversation when nobody really cares about him. Except for his kids. Like Yung said, I feel bad for Addison and her brothers who are 14 and eight. At least Yung had the right reaction largely ignoring it.

There was discussion on the last post about how awkward Yung and Sheri were at kissing. I felt the same way, for all the talk of their “massive PDA” on the Red Carpet, they looked like they could use a refresher course on how to do it. And then I saw this article claiming there is just a PR stunt. I’m not saying it is, but here are a few things I’ve put together. 1) See above for the kissing. 2) Yung has this whole MILF thing he puts out but there’s no evidence he’s dated an older woman or a mom before. Just some photoshop scenarios he’s put together. As the Page Six article claimed, he dates young blonde women. In an upsetting sidenote, you know who is a young, 20-something blonde? Addison Rae. 3) Sheri was humiliated by Monty’s affair and maybe it hurt her ego or maybe it hurt her brand. Either way, having a young, up-and-coming rapper offering to be your arm candy would certainly be tempting. And 4) Yung has a new album dropping in two months. Again, I’m not saying anything, I’m just telling you what I found out.

If things don’t work out with Sheri, guess who’s next:

I feel sorry for the children for having their mother called a “MILF”. I can’t stand that term. Why would you feel a need to label people you are seeing? It’s degrading and doesn’t make it appear that you like someone for herself.

    • kelleybelle says:

Me either. It’s so vulgar and crass. And “Yung Gravy” is worse, young cum I think it’s supposed to mean. Ugh. UGH.

  2. Kokiri says:

I don’t know who any of these people are, so I’m forever grateful for that.

As for the term MILF, it’s awful. That it’s getting so much press is disheartening; we still have such a way to go for women not to be seen & described as commodities.

  3. Ariel says:

    She could do better

  4. K says:

This is unintentionally pathetic. I suppose Yung Gravy is preferable to expired gravy? IDK.

  5. Watson says:

I love this for her. Honestly. What better way to say “I’m over your cheating ass” then to date a younger more popular guy? This dude is not my thing but the pr is *chefs kiss*. Lolol. It’s pure chaos and I’m here for it.

Why do I already feel the Kardashian level exhaustion with Addison and her family already? Please go away.. Yungun looks like a sleazy Vegas pimp om back in the day.
Mom reminds me of Dynasty for some reason

    • Lolo86lf says:

Unfortunately not every boy gets to attend a charm school where they are taught to dress less pimp-y and to not to call their girlfriends slightly inappropriate terms. And by the way, men are also called DILF by women so there you have it.

  7. Lolo86lf says:

I don’t have a problem Yung calling Sheri a MILF. Yung is a product of the culture when he was growing up and I realize that it can sound demeaning but it is actually a compliment. They are both adults and they are obviously attracted to each other so let them enjoy each other until they break up which they will eventually.

Street slang is an increasingly valid form of expression. Most of the feminine pronouns do have mocking, but not necessarily in misogynistic undertones.

  8. Bookie says:

    Who are these people?

When I was young, I thought I would want to put in the work to stay culturally relevant with the youths as I aged. I thought it would be really embarrassing to not be as hyperliterate about pop culture at 45 as I was in my teens and twenties. Thank god for TikTok-famous people and artists like Yung Gravy, now I know what an incredible gift it is to be washed.

  10. Normades says:

I vote PR. She “wanted to date Pete Davidson”. Lol. Being a MILF cougar is all the rage and seriously these women could do better.

  11. Lucy says:

I’m so baffled by TikTok stars. I’m on TikTok (more than I probably should be), but my content is all book recommendations, teenage dirtbag memes, and cat videos. I never come across the so-called stars. What does this say about my algorithm? Anyway, this makes me feel old (but not in a MILF way, just in a tired way).

  12. Christine says:

This gives me secondhand embarrassment. Looking forward to seeing Sheri on Dancing with the Stars next season or whatever her endgame is here.

  13. Frnk27 says:

Not gonna lie-I’m all for Sheri stepping out with Young Gravy, PR stunt or not, if it lifts her spirits after being married to that a-hole for so long. I say go for it and if she thinks being called a MILF is a complement all the better. Not every relationship has to be deep and fulfilling or long lasting. Sometimes they can be about fun and hooking up and having a good time. Theres no shame in that. I bet Gravy is an entertaining person to hang out with. You do you Sheri. You do you.

  14. Jessica says:

It’s not a big deal but Addison Rae is not blonde. She’s very brunette. Always has been.
