Hannah Waddingham in Dolce & Gabbana at the Emmys: princess-perfect?

The Emmy voters LOVE Ted Lasso. They love Jason Sudeikis and they love Brett Goldstein and they love everyone involved in the show. For the second year in a row, the show Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein (Roy F–king Kent himself) won Emmy Awards. The only change this year was that Hannah Waddingham didn’t win, but she was fine with that. No one is having more fun than Hannah and she was crying tears of joy watching Jason and Brett pick up their awards. It also speaks to the fact that Emmy voters lean older and male – Jason wasn’t hurt by the drama in his personal life, with Olivia Wilde. They gave him two Emmys even after he had Wilde served on stage at CinemaCon.

Fashion notes: Hannah wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana princess gown, which hid the fact that she wore sneakers. Juno Temple wore Tom Ford. I don’t really like either of their looks, but they were fine, in general. Brett Goldstein is such a treasure too! I love this whole cast.

… should Hannah and Juno have switched dresses? They both look great because they are extremely great-looking people, but I think swapping might have suited them both better.

  2. Charfromdarock says:

It looks like Hannah’s party and the rest are her guests.

The last time I had to dress up, I wore a gown that hid my sneakers too. Lol.

  3. Southern Fried says:

Hannah’s dress is not something I like but it was perfect for her, pink, poufy, jeweled. I wish I could see Juno’s better. Brett is lovable in anything. Ted Lasso deserves all the wins.

  4. Twin Falls says:

I wouldn’t like Hannah’s dress on anyone else so I probably just don’t like it but I think she looks amazing.

  5. Isa says:

Hannah looks amazing. Skin is glowing. Arms are fit and toned. Love the whole look.

Came to say just that! Dress is not really my taste but she looks fantastic.

      • BothSidesNow says:

Plus Hannah is loving how she looks and feels in her dress too!! I think Hannah looks stunning!

    • Abby says:

She looks STUNNING. I don’t even care about the dress. I just want her arms/shoulders. Whew!

      • Silver Birch says:

Agreed. Her dress is not my cup of tea, but Hannah obviously loves it and feels great. Truth be told, with her height and figure, she could wear anything. And those arms are #goals.

  6. FhMom says:

The men look better than the women, especially Roy Kent and Jaime Tarte. I am going to miss this show so much when it ends. I think I’m going to buy the seasons to pass on to friends who can’t watch this great show. Everybody needs to watch Season 1

    • Southern Fried says:

Oh absolutely! I’d love many more seasons. Personally the show came at the perfect time. Depression was creeping up on me with Covid and missing family and friends. It may sound dumb but Ted Lasso has something to do with preventing depression from grabbing hold.

    • BothSidesNow says:

I have enjoyed the show immensely!! I will be sad when the final season plays out. I will miss drooling over Brett Goldstein as well…he’s so f#cking hot!! Brett looks a dessert I would love to snack on 😋

  7. [insert_catchy_name] says:

Who’s in gold? Would have liked a close up look of that.

  8. Kirsten says:

    Everyone here looks great.

Also, considering everything that’s come out about Olivia Wilde STILL trying to paint herself like a victim, we can at least give JS the benefit of the doubt when it comes to what he’s saying about OW being served?

    • BothSidesNow says:

Actually,I think we should question her timing about their relationship more so now than we did before. Her lying, victimhood, scheming, “Miss Oli” has all roads pointing to untrustworthy and a habitual liar too.

I felt so bad for her first husband by her vile comments that she made as I wanted to crawl under the bed. From sheer embarrassment and for all women as she is harming the generalization for women with her antics.

  9. Lens says:

The bad thing about the Emmy’s is they feel repetitive but how can you not vote for Ted Lasso? Or Succession? They are perfection.

    • BothSidesNow says:

I know!! We must give accolades to those that truly out perform and out write and out cast all others out syndication.

  10. Tessa says:

Who’s the woman front and center in black? Is she a producer or something, I don’t recognize her.

    • KGSRTR says:

Maybe Phoebe Waller-Bridge? She’s one of the screenwriters for the show, IIRC.

      • minx says:

She’s Phoebe Walsh, she plays Beard’s girlfriend and she’s also a writer and story editor in the show. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is about a foot taller 🤣

  11. Abby says:

I absolutely love this show. Ted Lasso has been such a bright spot for me and my husband during the pandemic. I will be sad when it’s over! From the theme song, to the aesthetic, to the humor, to the emotional weight, I’m glad it’s getting accolades. Maybe there will be more shows that access the kind of emotions that Ted Lasso evokes.

  12. MS. Lib says:

I love Hannah Waddingham and her dress was gorgeous and the design was perfect for her. Too many designers want to get their dress out there that they don’t seem to give a hoot about the person in it.
Ted Lasso is fun to watch and has so many poignant moments, at least the first season. Will have to finish season 2 before I can give it a thumbs up.

  13. Bobbie says:

All she needs is a pair of long gloves.

  14. Louisa says:

The dress is not my taste but she looks absolutely gorgeous and always looks like she is having the best time. Would love to hang with her!

I love Ted Lasso and JS but I was rooting for Martin Short in that category. I have just binged both seasons of Murders in the Building and he had me crying with laughter. He’s wonderful and it’s such a fun show.

  15. Jane Q. Doe says:

Every award show should pay Hannah Waddingham to park front and center – her energy and enthusiasm is a contagious delight! She’s leading the congrats for all the winners and presenters, including Sheryl Lee Ralph (who won in Hannah’s category). I just think she’s wonderful.
I was a little surprised to see her go with a similar color to last year’s Emmy’s (that was more salmon-y?), but she knows what looks good on her. I love the sneakers.
    Phil and Brett look delicious.
