When I saw this headline – “Kate Bosworth ‘Can’t Wait to Marry’ Justin Long: She ‘Is Just the Happiest’ with Him: Source” – I thought, wow, I don’t remember them announcing their engagement, but sure. I thought I just forgot about it or missed the news. As it turns out, they haven’t announced anything! To recap, Kate was married to Michael Polish for years, then they suddenly split in 2021, soon after Kate worked with Justin Long. Kate and Justin immediately “got together” after Kate left her marriage. Polish and Bosworth only recently finalized their divorce, as in, only in the last week. So… Kate moves pretty fast, no surprise. It definitely feels like this People Mag exclusive is the de facto engagement announcement too.
Kate Bosworth and Justin Long are all loved-up. A source tells PEOPLE that Bosworth, 40, “can’t wait” to call Long, 44, her husband, roughly a year after they first sparked relationship rumors back in March 2022.
“Kate is just the happiest. Justin is an amazing guy,” the source says. “She can’t wait to marry him. They are very cute together.” The source adds, “Kate has this amazing energy around Justin. She is just beaming.”
The Remember the Titans actress and He’s Just Not That Into You actor — who spent time together in 2021 while filming House of Darkness in Arkansas — first sparked relationship rumors in March 2022 after they were spotted together in Los Angeles.
Engagement rumors began swirling around the couple after they attended the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills on March 12, where Bosworth was seen wearing a ring on her finger as they posed for photos together. Reps for both Bosworth and Long have not responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
Yep. Bosworth’s team wouldn’t do this unless they wanted to get people talking about the photos from the Vanity Fair Oscar party. While there was some talk about them at the time, there was just so much happening at and after the Oscars, the Bosworth & Long maybe-engagement kind of got lost. But yes, it’s clear she was posing with Long in a particular way to show off her engagement ring, which I have now zoomed in on. Congrats to them – Bosworth seems much happier with Justin than she ever did with Michael Polish.

Girl needs to take a breather. She’s been in a relationship non-stop since even before Orlando.
I’m not a Kate Bosworth expert by a long shot but this messy “I met someone at work, fell for them and promptly dumped the man I was with to be with them” seems to be her MO. Didn’t she charge off with Michael Polish after working with him? And then, having declared Polish the perfect man for her in every way, met Justin Long at work and did the same?
I mean, no point in staying in an unhappy relationship but the girl has a tendency to monkey bar her men.
Why do I always smell trouble with these types of couplings scenarios?? Out from one marriage and directly into another spells trouble for me unless KB has been emotionally checked out for years. I simply feel anxiety with these type of relationships. Though Tom Hanks and Ritas relationship is similar so possibly it will work out. At least they are close in age though.
Both are boring yet messy.

I didn’t realize her divorce was only recently finalized. She’s been with Justin for a while. It feels like at least a year? I don’t know anything other than their social media posts but she seems so much happier with him. Like, happy and laughing and having fun. I dont think I saw any photos at all of her smiling with her ex. I wish them the best!

I wonder what happened to her career. She had a push after Blue Crush and was an “ It girl” for a bit and then her career seemed to quiet down.
Supposedly her now ex husband happened. There was stuff about it on another thread about her.
Naw her career slide happened way before she met her husband. It had slid even before she dated hot guy ASkars (member that?). IMO I think she got a whole bunch of hype from Blue Crush being the healthy American girl next door type but then she chose to be a fashion girl and lost a ton of weight which wasn’t actually very becoming and not the image people wanted to see.
She seems much happier. I don’t judge when people move on quickly. I remember everyone giving Melissa Benoist shit for looking ridiculously happy a mere three months after her divorce and moving on to another partner. Later to reveal she had been a victim of domestic violence for years and that her then husband had thrown a phone in her face causing one of her pupils to be continually dilated from the injury.
Kate’s previous relationship always seemed unhealthy to me. She was always extremely thin and her career just trailed off. My knee jerk reaction is that something similar was happening to her. Maybe there was physical violence, maybe not. Perhaps coercive control of some kind similar to the emotional abuse that Mandy Moore was subjected to by Brian Adams (I remember her getting a lot of shit too for asking for money to pay her rent after they broke up. He had been controlling her and preventing her from getting work for years so she had no money!)
So perhaps Kate met Justin Long who is known to be a decent guy, she realised, oh, I can actually be treated well? And she finally has a reason to get out. So kudos to her and ZERO fucking judgement from me.
I have never heard much about her ex husband but I think her weight loss, and most of the young women in Hollywood, is trying to fit into fashion sample sizes. Kate dropped her weight right after Blue Crush.

Her ex-husband assaulted someone on set a couple of years ago and that person is suing him. That was also around the time she announced their separation.

I always forget that Kate was with Alexander Skarsgård for a good chunk of time (but how I ask myself) and she quickly moved on to marry Polish. Chris Martin supposedly cheated on Goop with her too. Hollywood is such a cesspool eh? Anyways, she looks happier and healthier now so congrats to them.
Interesting, maybe Goop had her black listed. Sienna Millers shenanigans with that Getty guy got her exed out in Hollywood for a bit. She was another fashion it girl whose career went downhill for awhile.
I remember the rumor of her supposedly cheating with Martin. It would track her getting blacklisted by Goop. That was when Goop & Martin were hanging out with Beyoncé and Jay-Z. They were a power couple for a minute (more than usual). I have always been a Justin Long fan. Having met my husband of 30 years while moving through my own divorce I will not judge KB for this. I will say you know when you know. Timing is everything and sometimes it is not perfect on paper. I wish them every happiness!
She looks so much better with more weight! I wonder if she is trying to get pregnant and started nourishing her body accordingly or if it’s just because she feels so loved and accepted by Justin that she permitted herself to gain weight… either way she is glowing! (though I do side eye the super intense soul mate relationships, because more often then not they end like Meghan Fox and MGK)
Wow she’s glowing! She looks happier than she ever did with skaarsgard or polish. I’m kinda rooting for them? Like, maybe people do mature and learn how to communicate and have respectful and loving relationships with age? One can hope.
Not to comment on a woman’s body, but this is by far the healthiest she’s looked in over a decade. Good for her if she’s happy!
