Prince Harry: My brother knew ‘an awful lot more’ about NGN’s phone hacking

Prince Harry decided to spill a lot of tea in his pretrial filing, in his lawsuit against The Sun. The thing is, I’m pretty sure this isn’t ALL the tea. Harry still has cards left to play, clearly, and this is only the information he’s giving out as part of The Sun’s attempt to dismiss his case. As we heard yesterday, Harry apparently has documentation that his brother accepted “a very large sum of money” from The Sun in 2020, a year after Harry began suing all of the British tabloids. The fact that William accepted a large settlement is notable enough, but the fact that everything about the settlement was a secret… well, that is mind-blowing. It’s also crazy that William was secretly taking gobs of cash from Rupert Murdoch while he (and the rest of the family) assumed the public position that Harry was crazy to sue the tabloids. Anyway, the Guardian is running several pieces about Harry’s court filing, and they did a load of excerpts from Harry’s filing:

William knew more about the hacking than Harry: “Judging by Ms [Maxine] Mossman’s [a lawyer representing Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers] witness statement, my brother appeared to know an awful lot more than I did on the subject of phone hacking although he did not tell me if that was the case. However, NGN still settled his claim for a huge sum of money in 2020 without subjecting him to a similar strike-out application, without any of the public being told, and seemingly with some favourable deal in return for him going ‘quietly’ so to speak.

Proof of the secret agreement between Murdoch & the Windsors: “This goes to prove the existence of this secret agreement between the institution and senior executives at NGN – if it wasn’t in place then why on earth did William wait until 2019 to bring his claim in circumstances where our two private secretaries brought and settled claims back in 2012, and where he knew far more about the matter back then than I did, and also why didn’t NGN test its limitation argument against him?”

Charles’s intervention: “With hindsight, I now understand why staff at Clarence House [representing Charles and Camilla] were being so unhelpful and were seemingly blocking our every move, as they had a specific long-term strategy to keep the media (including NGN) onside in order to smooth the way for my stepmother (and father) to be accepted by the British public as queen consort (and king respectively) when the time came, and anything that might upset the applecart in this regard (including the suggestion of resolution of our phone hacking claims) was to be avoided at all costs…. Indeed, when I did actually issue my hacking claims against both MGN and NGN in October 2019, I was summoned to Buckingham Palace and specifically told to drop the legal actions because they have an ‘effect on all the family’. This was a direct request (or rather demand) from my father, Edward Young [private secretary to the queen] and my father’s private secretary, Clive Alderton.”

The tabloids wanted Harry to have a public breakdown: “Having seen me grow up from a baby (being born into this ‘contractual relationship’ without any choice) and scrutinised my every move, the tabloids have known the challenges and mental health struggles that I have had to deal with throughout my childhood and adult life, in large part created by them, and for them to then play on that and use it to their own advantage, while weaponising mental health, I think is truly appalling. Despite them all knowing about what I was dealing with throughout the years, they kept on doubling down their efforts rather than letting up. That is grotesque and sadistic – and no doubt they were hoping for a total and very public breakdown.”

James Murdoch, son of Rupert, is a ‘kindred spirit’: “He [James Murdoch] made a real effort to try and come and talk to me [at a Google event] despite my security detail trying to keep me away from him – presumably they thought I’d get into a heated argument with him or worse. I got the distinct impression that, having broken away from the cult that is the Murdoch dynasty, he was starting to show signs that he wanted to do things differently and to make amends for the past. Given that he had broken away from his family’s history, and I was about to do the same with mine, I felt that we were kindred spirits of sorts. My wife and I subsequently had a Zoom call with him and his wife when I was on the Aspen Commission for Digital Information. I also remember congratulating him for going in a different direction to his father …”

[From The Guardian]

The James Murdoch thing is fascinating – James Mudoch is now LA-based and he left his father’s business several years ago. James even publicly excoriated Donald Trump AND hosted a fundraiser for Joe Biden. Is James… helping Prince Harry’s case? That would be treason in the Murdoch family, and I’m doubtful James would go that far. But it’s fascinating that Harry used James’s name in this filing. Harry is also unafraid to name Edward Young and Clive Alderton as two of the senior courtiers heavily leaning on Harry to end his legal pursuits against the tabloids. What a magnificent coronation gift!

And now we know the real reason Meg and the kids aren’t coming to the coronation…. with all the tea Harry’s bringing with him, there’s no room!

I love it! Spill the hot goss, Haz!

    • Flowerlake says:

And I hope that the people who were immediately turning on Harry like for it, saying he betrayed her or whatever, now finally realize that he is protecting her by keeping her away from that mess and still strong enough to face it alone.

      • MS CP says:

This is Harry showing us how strong he really is! Takes a lot of guts showing up to the coronation with all of this brewing simultaneously.

    • Well Wisher says:

That is not the place for the Sussex family. I understand why Harry would go and choose to do so alone ……….
I find this filings disturbing, and they would be tested in a court of law, it moved beyond ‘tea’.

    • HeyJude says:

Old boy should dump it the Thimes while there, in the spirit of the American tradition for rebelling against tyrannical British kings.

  2. equality says:

Even if the case doesn’t lead to a payout, I think PH will feel like he has gotten everything off his chest and had a chance to get his version of events out. I like that he is naming names and being specific in the process.

    • Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

Money was never Harry’s motivation here, truth and justice are what’s driving him forward!

      • equality says:

Not his motivation but, I’m sure, he (like all of us) would love to see them have to pay through the nose to all victims.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Didn’t Meghan call him Mr. Justice Man in their documentary? I seem to recall that.

      • notasugarhere says:

I think he’s also hoping to prove an anti-Sussex Family slant on the RAVEC board. Charles and William both get to have a rep on that board iirc. There are others on that board, and it isn’t just for royals but also other people with high-profiles who need protection.

Harry needs RAVEC to make a fact-based decision about his famiy’s security – without the other members of the board kowtowing to Charles/William’s reps.

      • SquiddusMaximus says:

I know it’s impossible for the die-hard royalists to infer anything from this, but this so clearly shows that the BRF has only one priority: itself. Not the public, and not public service. It was more important for Chuck and Billy to safeguard his popularity than to do the right thing for the public and ensure heinous crimes like this were exposed and future victims protected.

What utter horsepoopy. How completely pathetic.

      • HamsterJam says:

I will build on what @SquiddusMaximus said and say that is is utter horsepoopocracy being exuded from the highest levels, and it is gaining speed as it rolls downward and it threatens to cover the rest of us

    • ThatsNotOkay says:

The loudest of whistleblowers and righteous in his quest. Even if he loses, he’s won, imo.

    • traci says:

I agree. The embarrassment alone is enough. I bet Chuck is regretting leaking that whole thing about the letters he and Meg wrote to each other – a bit premature methinks.

      • Whyforthelove says:

Yep! Charles keep thinking he can somehow shame Harry into crawling away. Harry has nothing to be ashamed of, he survived this vile family and is making sure the truth of his and his mother’s existence is known. I am so proud of him for showing how vile the British press and this horrific contract really is. I hope one day Louis and Charlotte benefit from his efforts and are also able to break this awful contract that no. Of them ever signed up for

  3. Go Harry! Get it all out there so we all can see what’s behind the curtain. The invisible contract is becoming very clear. No wonder his family worked against him their cover would be blown. This is all very interesting but very sad for Harry.

  4. SarahLee says:

This is all just marvelous. When Harry said he had enough for 2 books, but whittled it down, he wasn’t kidding. One of the more irritating parts of Spare for me was the nicknames he gave people, rather than just use their names. He’s naming names now. Go Harry!

    • Polo says:

He couldn’t use names or it would give those people lawsuit opportunities like what Samantha M has been doing.

      • QuiteContrary says:

Nicknames aren’t always a shield against lawsuits, especially if it’s clear who is being discussed. I just think Harry thinks of those courtiers as insects (though insects are more useful).

  5. Brassy Rebel says:

So the Murdoch son (James) also rises. Very interesting.

    • Tacky says:

He was CEO of 20th Century Fox and he left the family business when Rupert sold it out from under him for $71 billion. All they have left is the news business and Lachlan runs that.

  6. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

I’m going to have to watch the Conanation now just to see the open fist fight in the aisle! Harry has that huge Virgo energy of taking the abuse and when he’s had enough, burn it all down!!

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Fellow Virgo here – when we’ve had enough of your sh!t we will take you down with steely resolve and persistence, once we make up our minds to do something we almost never steer off that path.

I’m a virgo born in the year of the tiger – watch out. LOL

    • Jaded says:

Mr. Jaded is a Virgo born in the year of the ox — he is one determined mofo, smart and diligent, and never looks back once his mind is made up.

I’m so glad Harry finally mentioned that scheming SOB Edward Young. Man, between what’s happening with the various trials and lawsuits against Drumph and this, it almost makes me believe in divine retribution!

    • Nutella toast says:

I’ve never heard of that but as a Virgo, that checks out. We try and try and try and take heaps of dung because we don’t want to lose the relationship but at some point, we run out of grace and when we’re done, we are So. Done. And people never see it coming even though we told them. Dang Harry. Go get em’.

      • lanne says:

        Rat Virgo here. Cosign.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Nutella toast, I’m a Sheep Virgo and try and try, too. Once they cross the line (which I only know when they’ve finally done it), that’s it. No looking back. I can be quite ruthless at that point.

    • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

And then when all you Virgos are done with the steely takedowns, y’all can come to my Cancer house for a celebration party full with food and love lmao.

    • Elon's Sink says:

I’m a snake Virgo and my birthday is September 14th. Virgos keep receipts and remember (almost) all the important stuff. We take in everything and then, when fools have been given enough rope, we cut it.

      • aftershocks says:

Wowsers is the word, guys! 😳

BTW, I’m a water snake Sagittarius. I can be very blunt and honest. I’ve always been a seeker of truth. I admire this quality in Harry, as well as his courage, and his determination. As Prince Seeiso said, “We call Prince Harry, ‘Mahali,’ The Warrior.” 🤺 ✨

Praying for Harry’s protection amidst the bowels of vipers. May Angel Queen Diana, guide and watch over him, always. 🙏🤎✌️🍀

  7. ❌❌❌TART ❌❌❌ says:

    😮

    • Flowerlake says:

      Yes, this is so significant.

I am keeping my eyes on Twitter and the hashtags that are trending like #PrinceWilliamExposed and #GoodKingHarry

  8. Digital Unicorn says:

The friendship between him and James Murdoch is VERY VERY interesting as James was directly implicated in the phone hacking scandal. He was hung out to dry by his father and siblings over it and I wonder what his relationship with his family is now. I suspect he has also cut ties with them – its interested to hear Harry describe him as a ‘kindred spirit’ makes you wonder why.

  9. Moxylady says:

Harry’s legal cases are incredibly important for the country and for reporting everywhere.
But I also think personally – he’s finally seeing the extent of the bigger picture and the extent of his abuse by his family.
    Go Harry. All the best.

  10. Goldenkatz says:

This is Diana’s revenge. This house of Windsorian cards teetering right before the coronation and we have barely scratched the salacious surface. Thanks Harry for being such an avenging angel.

    • Princessk says:

Absolutely this is Diana’s revenge, and Charles knows only too well that she has come back through Harry to haunt him.

  11. Jais says:

Okay, here is something interesting. I assumed the 2020 settlement came from a settlement that at least started in the appropriate amount of time but took until 2020 to settle. But that’s not what Harry is saying happened! Harry is saying William brought these claims forward in 2019 which is past the window of time! If they did that after the window of time ended, then what is the objection to Harry not doing the same??? NGN is arguing that it’s past the window of time but they allowed it in the case for William!!! I am shook. This makes me hopeful that the case will go to trial. Dang, this whole settlement is really coming back to bite both the sun and William in the butt.

    • Kel says:

Omg now I get it!! It wasn’t completely making sense but your explanation clears it up! Wow!

    • ML says:

Jais, I totally did not understand that 2019 reference to the 2020 settlement: Thank you for clarifying that. Well spotted!

    • Becks1 says:

EXACTLY. the secret settlement is fascinating for many reasons obviously but this is why its so key in this case – NGN was willing to settle with William in 2020 for a claim he brought in 2019 (didn’t Harry file this lawsuit in 2019?) despite the statute of limitations supposedly running out (since that seems to be their main argument here.) If the SoL had expired then there really would be no need to settle.

Man I would love to see that settlement agreement.

      • Claire says:

I would guess they also would have been willing to settle with Harry. Has it been publicly disclosed if NGN has attempted or suggested a settlement with Harry at any point? I commend Harry for going to trial in this case instead of settling and I think it’s the right thing for him to do and best aligns with his strong feelings on this subject matter (tabloid intrusions into privacy). But I’m guessing that they also would have settled with him even while holding the contention that should this case go to trial, they will try to get it kicked out due to SOL issues.

      • Becks1 says:

I don’t think Harry was ever supposed to file a claim or a lawsuit, so I’m not sure they would have been willing to settle with him once he did this publicly. They settled with William quietly and in secret. Once Harry filed suit in 2019 there was no way to settle in secret.

      • Bee says:

I would also love to see the settlement agreement. But that’s never going to happen. Harry wants everything on the record. He has zero interest in settling with these vipers. (Apologies to actual sneks)

    • Claire says:

What is the statute of limitations and when did the phone hacking end for William? I have to disagree on one point though – it’s not that wild that a settlement would happen even if a statute of limitations were at issue. Settlements out of court happen all the time because of these types of issues including the uncertainty on how a judge or jury may rule on issues of civil procedure like a statute of limitation as well as the fact and merits of a case. If it’s true that Williams settlement was 1 million pounds as has been reported – and that might not be true – that actually strikes me as rather low and a settlement like that likely would have taken into consideration the probability that the case may have simply been thrown out of court due to statute of limitation issues. Statute of limitation issues can also be complicated though – I imagine that they would start to run when the individual becomes aware of an instance of hacking right? In this case there may have been so many instances of hacking, did they find out about all of them all at once? Or did they learn about some of them more recently (that maybe the statute took longer to run on those ones?). Also I am very curious if Harry found out about Williams settlement first hand (probably not if they weren’t on speaking terms in 2020?) or from someone else, and if so, who?

      • Jais says:

Interesting. And how does Harry know that William started this lawsuit in 2019? Did he know at the time in 2019 that William was moving forward? And Harry decided to also move forward but with different lawyers while william used the firm’s layers? Or did he not know at all until he later learned of the settlement? I trust that his lawyers are making these statements bc they can hold up. The fact that his father told harry not to move forward in 2019 while William was simultaneously moving forward, presumably with his fathers permission, is mind-boggling.

      • Becks1 says:

I agree that the SoL would have played a part in the settlement, but I think if it was the slam dunk they’re saying it is now, they wouldn’t have settled with William, especially knowing that Harry was waiting in the wings. I read NGN’s argument about the SoL in another article and I thought they were saying that Harry knew about this years ago so the SoL ran out. I think Harry’s argument is that it went on after that, AND that the reason he did not bring a suit earlier was because of this secret agreement. So basically he relied on NGN to hold up their end of the secret agreement and then they reneged on it.

they may have offered to settle with Harry, but my guess is that his sticking point would have been an apology and NGN made it clear he was never going to get that.

It also doesn’t say that William filed a lawsuit, just that he filed “a claim” so I’m not sure what that may mean in UK law.

      • Bee says:

“Filing a claim” means filing a lawsuit.

    • notasugarhere says:

Remembering William did a few week stint at MI6 in Spring 2019. What are the odds he found out info there about his phone hacking, access everyday people couldn’t get for their own lawsuits? Used that access – he was granted as an unelected govt employee – to get his big money payout?

Did he also get info about just how in danger Harry and Meghan were at that time – and chose to triple down on their abuse and throwing them under the bus anyway?

  12. EasternViolet says:

This is truly a coup de grace for Harry… one sweep and he’s taking down the tabloid media who abused he and his family, as well as his horrid family for their abuse and complicity.

    • Blue Nails Betty says:

It is truly breathtaking how deep and wide this case is. Kudos to Harry for taking a stand and fighting the good fight. Diana would be so proud of the man he has become.

  13. lanne says:

Good for Harry! If he’s never seen at a royal function again, we all know why. And this should stop the “oh how sad he’s been pulled away from his family by his awful wife” talk.

I have always contended that the problem with the Windsors is Harry, not Meghan. They wanted to use Meghan’s “otherness” to blame her for Harry’s actions, and treat Harry like he was a “victim” of Meghan’s “evil machinations.” But Harry was always the issue–his refusal to toe the line and be the royal scapegoat he was born to be. The fact that his own damn family was complicit in enginnering a public mental breakdown is just one thing on the list of despicable actions of the royals. They were engineering a Meghan breakdown as well–now we see why they refused to stop the media abuse when she was most vulnerable. They wanted her to break down publically. That was payback for the media–how the royals were earning their 30 pieces of silver.

I hope this explodes the idea of the royal family as a “family.” I hope that anyone who claims Harry should reconcile with these evil people is called out for aiding and abetting famial abuse. I hope that a sharp eye is kept on those Wales children, and that when Louis is inevitably thrown under the bus to protect George, people call them out loudly and often. I hope that image of the royals as aspirational is utterly debunked–I hope they will be seen for exactly what they are–miserable people who are stuck with each other. The coronation will happen, likely uneventfully, and will be called a “success” even though few people pay attention. But I hope all of the dirt the royals kicked up themselves descends on then and clouds their media coverage. It’s exactly what they deserve.

  14. HamsterJam says:

What the BFM gets away with should be a crime

  15. ML says:

James Murdoch was up-to-his-eyeballs involved in the phone hacking scandal. His defense up to about 2011 was that he had no idea until that argument became untenable. He and his father seem to have parted ways in 2020, which isn’t all that long ago. It’s also around the time of W’s payout, which is probably a coincidence. However, if Harry has been able to access any information from James Murdoch, that would be huge!

  16. Aimee says:

The incandescence coming from across the pond is so bright it’s giving me a sunburn.

  17. Serena says:

    I’m loving this so much.

  18. Harper says:

The most delicious part of this expose was that Willy did not see it coming. Can you imagine that he thought the hardest part of his day yesterday was getting out of bed before 9 to make it to the Anzac ceremony? Harry sure ruined Willy’s morning nap, didn’t he?

KP and its Rota stooges have been eerily quiet. I suspect William is out of control, big mad, and even Jason Knauf is having a hard time trying to figure out how to pin this one on Meghan again.

    • Kingston says:

@Harper……LOL Its not only Bully who must be mucho incandescent round about now, spare a thought for WootWoot!

Can you not just picture him scouring the dictionary for some more adjectives to pepper his next outrage piece!!!???!!! LMFAO

  19. Becks1 says:

So William filed a claim, accepted a large settlement, that included a “favourable deal” in return for him “going quietly” (hmmm……silence from the Sun about the separation from his wife?)

Harry files a lawsuit and is dragged before his father demanding he drop the lawsuit “for the good of the family”….I wonder if NGN made any settlement offers to Harry or if they were told by someone not to worry about Harry, he wouldn’t do anything? then bam! lawsuit.

The royals are in deep with the press and this proves it. Charles was still obsessed with protecting his and Camilla’s image over all else.

    • Rapunzel says:

“I wonder if NGN made any settlement offers to Harry or if they were told by someone not to worry about Harry, he wouldn’t do anything? then bam! lawsuit”

Ooooh! If the media got played this way, then the BRF better watch out.

If it was Will that said not to worry, that would explain the bad press now. They’re mad he screwed them over. This would also explain his anger at Harry leaving. Harry’s exit screwed him over.

      • Jais says:

Okay, that makes sense. If William was telling them not to worry about Harry, at that point in 2019-2020, there offices had already separated but Harry was still in the firm. Maybe it was early 2019 that this deal started to be made. And then Harry was blocked from his own case in October 2019. Which it then makes sense how angry he was at Harry and Meghan for leaving in Jan 2020. He was literally arranging this whole deal and settlement contingent on controlling Harry and then Harry just leaves. William wants to control Harry not just bc that’s his weird personality but bc he literally owes people. Yikes.

  20. HamsterJam says:

So if my Celebitchy friends are doing their math right, Murdock only needs to loose 5 more 3/4 of a billion dollar lawsuits and then he is broke

    • Jaded says:

Murdoch now has to contend with a $2.7 billion lawsuit from Smartmatic as well as a derivative lawsuit from Fox shareholders. It may take a few years but Fox is going down. Jack Smith’s investigation has revealed he now has tapes of Ted Cruz and Peter Navarro talking to Maria Bartiromo about how much they hate Trump and that the whole election voting machine investigation was a total scam. This is karma!

      • Lucy says:

And Cruz talking about how he was going to support a legal coup of the election- setting up a commission that awards the presidency. I hope the mother effer goes to prison, along with the rest of the seditious folks in congress that’s tried to support this shit.

      • BQM says:

@jaded it was the Abby grossberg lawsuit that revealed the Cruz and Bartiromo tapes. Their publication then drew jack smith’s attention. This lawsuit may prove bigly troublesome for Carlson, Murdoch AND trump.

    • Shoshone says:

Fox or its parent company almost certainly has insurance for all or part of the current settlement amount. Of course their premiums will go up (ha ha!).
It was reported at the time that Bill O’reilly left Fox that he had had several large payouts over the years totaling over 100 million dollars and it was also reported that Fox had, up to that point, been insured. At the end though Bill’s contract with Fox was reported to have contained the provision that he was responsible for indemnifying Fox and covering any further payouts from his own funds. So, in essence, Bill was no longer “insurable”. And then he was gone.
      I wonder about Tucker…..

  21. JanetDR says:

I’m so proud of Harry for speaking his truth and taking care of business! He has been treated so poorly and he deserves nothing but the best 💗

  22. Amy Bee says:

This only convinces me that Harry is going to the coronation because he’s the son of the King and not because the King is his father.

    • Kingston says:

      @Amy Bee

Its nothing to do with chucky being H’s dad. Or, in any event, that consideration is waaay down on the list of reasons why H is going to the Clownation.

H is going to the Clownation because:
      – he is 5th in the LoS
      – he has 2 minor kids that are 6th & 7th in the LoS
      – therefore he has to BE SEEN to respect a tradition of which he is a part.

      PLUS:
      – H is the founder and leader of the Invictus Games that works closely with Commanders in Chief (CiC) of over 20 nations to date.
      – Chucky is now the CiC of the UK
      – Prince Harry has to BE SEEN to pay respect to his country’s CiC on his most important day

PS: if this was directly about chucky as H’s king, H would have consented to do the necessary, such as the deep-knee bowing and the swearing of fealty (like Bully will have to do.)

And if this was directly about chucky as H’s dad, H would have cared more about whether or not chucky’s big spotlight opportunity will be overshadowed by H’s court cases.

      • Becks1 says:

I think that’s literally AmyBee’s point. He’s going to because he’s the son of the King – that’s why he’s 5 in LoS, that’s why his kids are in the LoS, that’s why he is a part of this tradition, etc.

It has nothing to do with Charles himself as a father.

  23. Over it says:

Harry is the gift that keeps on giving.happy coronation indeed. lol

  24. February Pisces says:

‘The tabloids wanted harry to have a public breakdown”. That paragraph is interesting and something I have notice the tabloids love to do. I was watching the documentary Paula about Paula Yates. Brits will know all about her, but for those who don’t just look her up, her story is very tragic. Anyway after her partner Micheal Hutchens died, the tabloids hounded her none stop. She was even accidentally sent her obituary whilst she was still alive titled “suicide blonde’.

To write that headline before her death is just proof the tabloids actively campaigned for fatal outcome.

Anyway, I’m so proud of harry.

    • The Old Chick says:

Paula and Michael were continually hounded by the press. They both had a lot of mental health issues and Paula especially with drugs. I’m sure this the media were a major part in both their deaths. I still miss Michael, he was such an amazing talent.

    • BQM says:

Harry’s brief girlfriend Caroline flack too. He talked about it somewhat in Spare. He’s avenging her as well to an extent.

  25. Purley Pot says:

All they had to do was apologize and admit wrong doing, but nooooo. Burn it down Harry.

  26. Claire says:

I’m also fascinated and confused why Harry is bringing up James Murdoch’s name in several anecdotes that he’s met him and they’re kindred spirits and friendly now. Why even bring that up I don’t understand the relevance? Is he trying to imply that he might know some more information from James that is yet to be brought up / that James might be a source? I also wonder if James had a heads up that he would be named in this lawsuit (probably?). I’m still scratching my head on this one. If he wanted to be friends with James or just give James a shout out for being a good guy and different than the rest of his family, Harry could have done that in lots of different ways in different venues/mediums. Including him in several anecdotes here has to be intentional for some reason but I’m not entirely clear what Harry is trying to imply other than possibly a warning shot that he might have some inside intel from James that he has yet to unleash?

    • Jaded says:

In essence, James had a conscience and disagreed with his father’s scandal-mongering style of muckraking and support of/lying for the extreme right-wing conservatives. Here’s a good article explaining the divisiveness in the family: https://www.npr.org/2020/07/31/897929181/james-murdoch-quits-family-media-empire-after-disagreements

    • Kingston says:

When folks are ignorant about a matter and even declare that they lack knowledge about the situation, why on god’s green earth do they nevertheless persist in creating a premise based on their ignorance and then proceed to opine on that fallacy????

      Jeebus! H! Christus!

    • MsIam says:

My guess is that James may have told him about the settlement. Given his stature with the company and being part of the family they probably didn’t have him sign an NDA. James was still involved with the company in 2019-20. Can you imagine him saying, “You know your brother is in cahoots.” That would explain Harry’s “space” comment.

  27. B says:

Girrrrl if I was Harry and found out how these people lied, used and gaslit me for DECADES and I was about to get justice?? I would show up too!

Have fun at the Corny Harry! Look them in the eye and let them know it was you!

    • Maddie says:

Right?!?! This family is awful! They stab each other in the back over and over. I think they are worse than the Murdochs!

  28. Mads says:

I hope the judge declines the attempt to have Harry’s claim dismissed and it goes to full trial. My only concern is the palace lackeys would not be truthful and could try to discredit Harry’s witness statement. Hopefully, Harry has documentation that proves his accusations and delivers a hammer blow against Murdoch.

  29. Shoshone says:

I do not have any specific knowledge of the UK legal system but in the US the assertion that Prince William has substantial and specific knowledge of the case would place him in likely jeopardy of being legally required to testify under oath via subpoena. Including this information in a public forum was actually a shot across the William’s bow (so to speak).

    • QuiteContrary says:

That’s a very interesting point, Shoshone. I hope the clock was reset by William’s settlement, and I hope that scumbag of a brother has to testify.

      • Mary Pester says:

@QUITECONTRARY, I AGREE, but I also think this is Harry giving the press and his brother a massive FK YOU ALL. I’M done taking sht from any of you. He is attending the coronation with his head held high and to look his dog sht father right in the eye telling him “I’m here to do my duty, but beyond that, I’m out and you can all reap by what you have sown”. I would also love to see “William has a price tag , Harry has a spine” trending all over twitter

      • Shoshone says:

Also, the rather prominent reliance on James for a crucial part of the case implies that his inclusion was most probably made with his (James) assent or at least his prior notification.
Due to the fact that you have to back up assertions made in court filings with testimony and evidence it is not unlikely that James could testify or at least provide some sort of sworn statement or other evidence (documents, communications, recordings ect).

  30. Well Wisher says:

I am fascinated in the legality of this case, Harry had to provide the details as to why he could not file on time.
Yet he is accused of invading his brother’s privacy; no comment of the brother’s nor father’s actions but assertions against Meghan.
It is as if the media decide that he is the golden goose and want him home.
Remember what happened to the last golden, Harry’s mother.

    • Ginni says:

@Well Wisher ohhh God no! I pray that Princess Diana protects Harry and his family but if something happens to him we know who did it!

  31. Saucy&Sassy says:

I see that people are trying to say on sm that Fails donated the money to Invictus. If I remember correctly, Harry merged the Endeavor Awards with Invictus. The Royal Foundation still held funds so those were transferred to Invictus. Does anyone know how much that was and if the Royal Foundation also had any Invictus Funds that needed to be transferred.

I don’t know how much Fails got, but he didn’t donate that money to anyone but himself.

  32. Is That So? says:

I wonder if the people who claim that Prince Harry is stupid, weak and led by the nose my Meghan will shut up now? This is the long game. This is strategy. This is pure Harry.

It seems almost everyone except his cohorts in the military, his charities, his grandmother, and Meghan underrated him.

Queen Elizabeth’s seeming lack of public support for the Sussexes, and the Sussexes unwavering support for her was frustrating for many of the Sussex supporters. I guess the Sussex knew what she was doing.

Not long before her death i got the sense that Elizabeth was being used by the courtier and Charles as a sock puppet. The “Camilla should be queen” memo had that vibe. Sock puppet or not, Elizabeth seemed to have found a way to support Prince Harry.
