Tiger Woods injured in car accident (update: he’s ok, fought with wife)

2009 Australian Masters - Day 4

In sad news, media outlets out of Florida are reporting that Tiger Woods has been in a very serious car accident. Apparently this happened very early this morning, at 2:25 a.m. Tiger was driving his Cadillac SUV out of his Windermere estate into a fire hydrant, then a neighbor’s tree. He was transported to the Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida under the status “serious condition”. But currently updated reports indicated that Tiger has already been released, and that he was treated for facial lacerations.

The crash is being investigated by Florida officials, but so far the initial reports indicate that alcohol was not a factor. I know, right? That was my first thought: “Drunk a-hole hits fire hydrant, then tree.” However, there are some reports that he might not have been wearing his seat belt, and his air bags did not deploy.

Updates are coming in with regards to the Tiger Woods car crash that occurred earlier Friday morning. Reportedly, Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor’s property.

The accident occurred at 2:25 AM Friday morning. Authorities at the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) cited the injuries as serious. However, Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn told CNN that the golf superstar was taken to Health Central Hospital, where he was treated for facial lacerations and released.

The FHP has said that the crash is under investigation, and “charges are pending.” It was not clear who could face charges. The accident did not appear to have been alcohol-related, a police statement said.

Tiger Woods was driving his 2009 Cadillac Escalade when the accident occurred. However, the airbags were not deployed in the accident. This means that the car was either traveling less than 33 MPH, or that they were inoperable.

According to his official website, TigerWoods.com, the golfer is in the midst of a two-week break. Woods next scheduled tournament is Dec. 3-6 at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, CA. He has won 93 tournaments, 71 of those on the PGA Tour.

Woods lives in an exclusive subdivision of Isleworth near Orlando, FL with his wife, supermodel Elin Nordegren, and two children. Property records indicate his home is valued at $2.4 million.

[From Huliq]

Okay, the first thing to come to my mind was “drunk”. The second thing was “horrible fight with his wife over reports of his affair that made him angrily leave his property in the middle of the night and drive into a tree.” Is that terrible? It’s just that the National Enquirer’s affair story is the only news about Tiger the past few weeks, so it just popped into my head. I didn’t mean to be horrible about it. It sucks that he was in an accident, and our thoughts are with him and his family.

Update by Celebitchy: Kaiser is most likely right that the accident was caused by a fight between Woods and his wife. The most important thing is that Woods is home and is fine now. TMZ is reporting that the scratches on his face were inflicted by his wife when she confronted him about the alleged affair. He then took off in the car and she followed him, hitting the back of the Escalade with a golf club. Woods hit a fire hydrant and then a tree while his wife was behind him smashing the car. Earlier reports claimed she broke the back window with a golf club trying to help him “escape.”

I’m going with “B” the fight after getting caught screwing the ho’bag on the side.

  2. Kaiser says:

Thanks, Goddess – I could totally see how some horrible fight with his wife about “the other woman” could have made him angry enough to drive into a tree.

  3. Firestarter says:

Never fear, Tiger is AOK, according to CNN. He is fine and with minor injuries and a few facial lacerations.

Bad Holiday week he is having.

  4. Popcorny says:

It was the first thing that popped into my mind as well -a failed turbo-exit of frustration after a long fight/argument (with the wife over the cheating allegations).

  5. wow says:

… and the plot thickens. 😉

I read something elsewhere that I found funny. It said that there’s only two thing open after 2:00 am – Wal-Mart and the mistresses legs. I guess they forgot about 7-11, but somehow I don’t think Tiger was going out for a Big Gulp.

I hope he’s okay though. And no, Kaiser, you’re not terrible. I was thinking exactly of your second option listed when I first read about this.

  6. Kevin says:

Wow! Now his wife is a super model? About the only thing that would stop Tiger from owning every golf record in the world is something like this. I have always admired Tiger for the image he portrayed. It’s really a blow to me, and probably many others, that one of the good guys is just another guy. Well we are all fallible.

  7. Mairead says:

I think it was B too.

But I assume that he was upset rather than angry and it was very late at night. People have as little concentration and are as erratic on the road when they’re tired as when they’re drunk. There have been some horrific accidents from people falling asleep at the wheel (unlikely in this case I know).

The airbags not going off is interesting. If he crashed going under 30mph, then, so long as he was wearing a seatbelt, he should be ok, maybe whiplash and a bang on the forehead. (being HIT by an SUV at 30mph, not so lucky)

If the airbags were inoperable though… eek. Unfortunately, NCAP the European car safety test doesn’t cover Cadillacs (they’re for sale here though, God know’s why) so i can’t tell what the typical crash results could be. Usually, even with some bigger cars, the upper body can be all right, but the collapse of the front can cause damage to the legs.

  8. teehee says:

Just goes to show how we take people for granted. One minute we bash them for possibly having cheated, the next thing we almost lost them.
    Lesson be learned…

  9. Goddess711 says:

If you were getting kicked out of your trillion dollar home by a livid, screaming, expensive glass vase throwing woman who has just taken a hammer to all of your trophies and is threating to take a knife to your, ummm, “wood-iron” y’might want to peel out of your driveway pretty damn quick!
Supposedly it was at 2 a.m. and he was driving his Ford Escalade so it had to be a quick exit with a reason.

  10. snappyfish says:

    Brian Boitano reference was brilliant!!

  11. Guest says:

    seems so coincidental…

  12. Moore says:

I thought the exact same Kaiser. He fought with his wife and could possibly have been drunk.

  13. crash2GO2 says:

Oh dear. I’m with you all in the fight with the wife scenario. I wonder what charges would be pending?

  14. Jag says:

Yep, I’m going with B, too. I once tore out the manual transmission of my car, due to being upset and trying to drive away after a fight. (Gotta give it a second before putting it from reverse to first. lol)

  15. Cinderella says:

Perhaps Elin cut the brake lines on his Escalade. Hell hath no fury…

  16. Raven says:

Clearly he was a little off mentally. This guy with top notch eye-hand coordination runs first into a fire plug and THEN into a tree?

  17. Sumodo says:

@Snappyfish Thanks, babe! I only live and hour and a half from where the Woods are and the media is going mental, without saying a word about the alleged affair.

  18. Beth says:

I guess saying they had an angry fight is logical but at the same time it may be reaching. The mistress story came out a couple of days ago so I would think she would be angry then not now. Also Tiger left at 2AM. Why talk/yell about it in the middle of the night. I guess if he had an affair she may have called and his wife found out.

  19. Kevin says:

They are reporting here in Florida that his wife broke out the back window of the truck with a golf club (of course) to help Eldrick (can’t call the cheater tiger anymore)out of the truck. Said she heard the crash and came out of their house. As expensive as their house must be I can’t believe she heard that from inside unless it happened right outside. Cops are saying no alcohol involved. Injuries were to the lip area, mouth was full of blood according to FDLE.

  20. GatsbyGal says:

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this has something to do with the news of his affair coming out yesterday.

  21. Kate says:

A DUI would cost him a lot less than a nasty divorce!

  22. Mairead says:

@ Raven, I’m blaming the fire hydrant myself. I think it’s secretly a Padraig Harrington fan 😉

  23. Kathie says:

Later reports said when the police showed up Tiger’s wife was bending over him in the driveway having bashed in the rear window of the Escalade with a golf club to pull him to freedom..hate to be a beeyotch but wonder when the window bashing occured? Pre or post accident?

  24. Me says:

I think it’s a brilliant move by his pr people to quickly change the headlines. How convenient that the accident would be on his property, with no witnesses present. I am interested to see how bad his facial lacerations are. If they’re really minor, I’m calling bs.

His image is incredibly important for his endorsement deals, and I’m sure his people would go to great lengths to protect that image.

Notice how long it took for it the statement to come out saying that the injuries were only minor. Long enough so that when you type in “Tiger Woods” in Google, car crash links fill the first page, bumping off links to stories about the alleged affair.

    Well played!

  25. Bete says:

See this is what gossip magazines and websites cause: reporting stories that really matter to no one’s daily existence. We’re all voyeurs. lol
But seriously though, one would think that he’d employ the same focus and seriousness when he’s in the driver’s seat. Just goes to show how much of someone’s image is just that – image.
Thank goodness he’s not badly hurt.

  26. sundayturkey says:

hmm if some one gets into a car starts it up then shifts into reverse and hits a bunch of things, they must be on some kind of drugs right. its not likly that ther was a problem with the car. or that a pro athlete would make such a mistake, and im shure that he will be able to keep it hidden. if i was him i would just say i was drunk.

  27. Sumodo says:

@Cinderella according to The Huffington Post “a local police chief said Woods’ wife used a golf club to smash out the back window to help get him out.” Well, here’s to 5 more years of a dead marriage. 3 points Elin.

  28. lucy2 says:

Certainly glad he’s OK, but the whole thing is just a little weird. Who goes out in the middle of the night when they have a wife and children at home? And how exactly does one crash into stuff right outside the driveway, enough to do such damage that you have go out the back window? It’s all very odd.

  29. Jay says:

Wow trouble is coming in the woods!

  30. sayrah says:

Yeah, I’m thinking B. He seems like Mr. Health. I can’t imagine him drunk, much less high on drugs. Sounds like she was really worked up and it was a “domestic dispute.” He must have needed to just get away and was pissed to have been caught or accused by her in the first place. I’ve seen drama queens peel out hundreds of times. They say most accidents occur within 100 yards of the home. There you go. I really hope they are ok and can work things out though.

  31. Goddess711 says:

Interesting that his wife was so close by with a golf club at 2:00 a.m.. Wonder if it was the other way around; he made a choice and was cutting loose/ bailing? Maybe he’s dumping his wondercareer and family for…a ho’bag?
Not St. Tiger! Say it ain’t so!!!
    Just a thought.

  32. Zoe says:

LOL @ “seriously injured”. Dude has a few scratches on his face, he’ll live.

  33. lynn says:

how could someone as tiny as she is smash a back window of an escalade and then pull him out?! please! she was swinging at his head and he was trying to get away. hell hath no fury…

  34. ccoop says:

Oh for heaven’s sake. He was only going out to get in line for the doorbuster Black Friday sales.

  35. kay shipley says:

something doesn’t add up here on the info we are being told? He has money and his image to uphold so we will never know what “really happened” here.More to this story……………

  36. Isobel says:

Read the CNN piece on this; they claim she broke the rear windshield with a golf club after the wreck to get him out.

I think that’s P.R. speak for: she threw the thing at the car as he drove away, and he hit the hydrant.

    Fair dues to her.

  37. SolitaryAngel says:

You guys, it’s option C: have screaming fight with wife, go tearing out of the house like a bat out of hell, then do yourself *just* enough damage to gain SYMPATHY POINTS. If it worked right, now his wifey is all “Baby, I just don’t know what I’d do without you!”. Good ploy. Bad execution.

  38. lizzie says:

@Kathie and Isobel…I’m with you on the whole window bashing possibly being pre-accident. It sounds like maybe she threw the golf club at his car and that is what caused him to crash, and now his PR is twisting it making her sound like a hero. Nobody saw it and I doubt either would own-up to that being the real reason because of his profitable perfect life image.

  39. DAVID says:

THATS KARMA FOR U, USE SLAVE LABOUR, AND ILL LAUGH WHEN I SEE STORIES LIKE THIS.

  40. lin234 says:

    @ CCoop
lol Good one. Lord knows a couple hundred million doesn’t go as far these days.haha

  41. Bete says:

ah well..it all makes me think of the saying..happiness…money, that old story.

  42. GatsbyGal says:

According to TMZ, it was his WIFE who scratched up his face while they were fighting about the affair. Then Tiger tried to get away in his car, she grabbed a golf club and started hitting the back window, he got distracted by that, looked away, and ran into the tree.

She should be locked up, that’s crazy-person behavior.

  43. Jag says:

lol Oh yeah, depending on where you read, she bashed in the back window to save him, or she was seen hitting the car with the golf club as he sped away. If she were trying to save him, don’t you think it would’ve been easier to bash out the passenger window instead? He had busted lips and she was over him when the cops arrived, plus he was “in and out” of it, so wasn’t coherent. The 911 call(s) will be released next week, they said. Oh, and he supposedly took some new painkillers, so that’s why he was out of it. The facial lacerations were either from the wreck, or now they’re saying she scratched him during an argument, so he got in the car and sped away. Sounds like a woman scorned to me. The local PD sure seems to be trying to spin it so that he doesn’t look bad, if it’s true that he cheated and she attacked him for it. (Which, of course, I don’t condone. Yell all you want, but don’t physically attack.)

  44. Tess says:

Notice the extraneous info tacked onto a story when the subject of the story is somebody the mainstream media isn’t quite sure they really like.

We now know the value of Tiger’s house. Was that info ever included in a David Letterman story?

No way, cuz they like Letterman but they’re just not sure if Tiger is their kinda guy.

  45. westender says:

Considering how much Tiger Woods values his privacy, all this attention lately must be a nightmare for him.
Now with this crash, after the allegations of an affair, the tabloids will be snooping into his personal life even more. There is more to this crash and you can be sure the tabloids will not rest until they get the dirt.
It is a blessing that his children are too young to hear or read any of the stories about their parents.

  46. Raven says:

That man has really lost his way since his father died. He seems to be caught up in his own media image, so he’s cheating and maybe other things that haven’t come to light yet. He needs to get back on track if he expects to keep playing championship golf.

  47. Ana says:

  48. Anon says:

It’s amazing what you people claim to know about other strangers lives that have no impact on your life whatsoever. Y’all must be mind readers! I’m jealous

  49. Sunnyjyl says:

My husband just hid his golf clubs. Hahaha!

  50. Firestarter says:

Oh please, Tiger Woods has been a media darling for years. To suggest otherwise is ludacris.

Just because he is the great Tiger Woods, does not mean that he is incapable of wrong doing. He may be superman on the golf course, but he is hardly above being a human and doing something that is not so nice to his wife.

The fact of the matter is he probably did cheat, he and the wife fought and hence the accident. No big deal. The end result will be firm denials, syrupy reconcilaitions, and the typical media blitz of a happy family.

No one is picking on Tiger. He is no different than anyone else as far as being able to screw up a marriage with infidelity.

  51. Goddess711 says:

    Whoayeah, Kaiser, who’s “speculating” now?
Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol — that should happen this afternoon. But we’re told Tiger had a conversation Friday — with a non-law enforcement type — detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We’re told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We’re told Woods became “distracted,” thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We’re also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

  52. mel says:

I guessed it right. Anytime you leave your home at 2:30 in the morning, you’re fighting with your spouse. I guess I’m not surprised cause in this day n age, there are alot of cheaters out there, even Tiger Woods.

  53. wow says:

See? “Pretty” means diddly-squat when it comes to cheating and bringing the “crazy”.

Since she is a husband beater, I wonder if she will get the same kind of hostile reactions that Chris Brown is getting. Hmm…

  54. jem says:

This is horrible. If it was the other way around: the woman had scratches on her face and the man hunted her down the street swinging a golf club no one would be laughing and the man would surely go to jail. Poor Tiger, poor kids.

  55. OXA says:

I feel so bad for the wife who has his kids to remind her every day what an organ he is. I hope she did not sign a prenup and take him to the cleaners.

  56. Linda says:

I wonder if you’re allowed to fight with your husband when he’s worth a billion dollars.

  57. Mairead says:

For goodness sake, he hits little dimpled balls over a field into a little hole for a living. Why is anyone expecting him to be the be-all-and-end-all of morality?

The saga is starting to make more sense now though. I’m not condoning attacking him with a golf club or anything else, but I can imagine how it erupted; the stress of presenting a perfect family image on a holiday, quite possibly a bit of alcohol and feeling humiliated that one’s husband fell for a professional star-f*cker. Not a good combination.

@ Ana, thanks, that’s the BI I was thinking of.

  58. Firestarter says:

Jem- While I do not condone her violence, what do you mean by poor Tiger, poor kids? He cheated on his wife, make no mistake about that, so where is your sympathy for her? She found out from outside sources about her husbands infidelity, so obviously, that had to hurt. I don’t feel sorry for him at all. You don’t beat on anyone, man or woman, and I do not approve of what she did, but he also caused this for himself and kids, she didn’t.

Just because it is the great Tiger Woods, doesn’t mean he is an innocent victim here. It is pretty clear he cheated. Shame on them both for creating this current situation!

  59. snowball says:

@Anon – “It’s amazing what you people claim to know about other strangers lives that have no impact on your life whatsoever. Y’all must be mind readers! I’m jealous”

You didn’t accidently stumble upon this site, did you? ‘Cause it’s for gossip, which includes speculation about celebrities. As in Celebitchy.

Elin was wrong to go all psycho on his face, but smashing the windows on his Escalade as he tried to get away, sorry, but that’s kind of funny.

Remember Elin, once a cheating dirtbag, always a cheating dirtbag. They don’t rehabilitate much.

  60. lizzie says:

@snowball – Your response to Anon was exactly what I was thinking.

I do wonder how bad this will hurt his endorsements. PR people start spinning those lies Asap lol.

  61. JaNa'e says:

i find it funny that people are defending his wife for going off and kicking his ass, yet people are condemning Chris brown for his assault of rihanna. It just goes to show that domestic abuse is only considered to be wrong when the woman is considered the victim. I feel sorry for the kids; violence of any kind is unacceptable.

  62. Firestarter says:

JaNa’e- Please quit making generalizations about people’s reactions to things. I no more condone her violence anymore than I do Chris Brown’s.

Do you Chris Brown apologists ever give up on trying to cover up his behavior? I don’t believe anyone here has said what she did was okay, but I can assure you, she did far less to Tiger than Brown did to Rihanna.

A few scratches on the face, which I do not condone, is hardly the same as being beaten in teh head and face by a man until you are bruised and bloodied with huge lumps.

Again, I hate violence in any form, so it matters not who does it, it is still low class and wrong!

  63. Perry Peck says:

OK so he cheats on his with and family and then gets in a big fight with his wife over it and then crashes his new car into a fire hydrant and tree and passes out and the wife smashes the window with of all things a golf club of his. Now tell me this is not perfect Karma. He even cuts his upper and lower lips, and blood comes out of his mouth like the lies he told his wife. Or his cut lips he kissed his mistress (Rachel Uchitel) with. The Tiger is just a pussy to me now, not much of a man to two time his soul mate. Do we see divorce coming next? For SURE! He will hit another hole in one soon being such a superstar.

  64. Goddess711 says:

    Two words: Steve McNair.

Seriously, do guys not think twice after finding out about the guys who didn’t make it out of the love triangle alive?

If Tiger’s wife is going to jail, she should do it up right, work on her “slice” on Tiger’s favorite putter. She should visit Tiger’s new “love” and work her over too. I’m betting charges will be laid and how convenient to get her out of the picture?

Courts condone infidelity and abandoning families – judges and lawyers are the biggest dirtbags playing around on their wives/families.

Women should start taking care of problems exactly like Tiger’s wife EN MASSE. You’d see a pretty big turn-around in social morality AND it’s cheaper than years of therapy. I’m still baffled what dumbass broads are doing screwing around with obviously married men. Joe Average can lie, sure, but this ho’ KNOWS Tiger’s married. Sure it takes two but what the hell is wrong with your self esteem when you gotta get a notch with a married guy? That’s so EWWWWW!
And really – does she think she’s so special that if he DID leave his wife for her that he wouldn’t screw around on HER?

  65. crash2GO2 says:

JaNa’e, show me where anyone is defending her behavior.

And forgive me if I don’t find a 100 lb female welding a golf club at a car to be as heinous as a 200 lb man welding his fists and teeth at a (say) 120 lb woman.

  66. crash2GO2 says:

JaNa’e, it seems we are still waiting for you to supply us with proof that Chris Brown and been beaten and bitten by Rhianna the same night he beat and bit her.

Everybody take a real deep breath now, because I think we are going to have a long wait!

  67. hmm says:

JaNae is right, there is a double standard. Chris Brown is a violent ahole and deserves more than he got, and if Tiger’s wife assaulted him and vandalized his vehicle, then she deserves to be punished as well. I don’t care whether he was cheating or not, there is no reason for her to resort to violence. And all I will say about Tiger and the state of his marriage is that he got what he paid for and she’s learning that when you marry for money you earn every penny.

  68. Firestarter says:

My question to all is , how is it she was the one who married for money? Is it not possible that she actually loved the man? Why is it if a woman happens to marry a man of wealth, it is solely for the money. Who was he supposed to marry? Some vapid Hollywood starlet? Why do people feel he married beneath him? He is a golfer, a rich one, but he isn’t that special that he should have married a Princess or something.

I get tired of people saying she got what she deserved by him cheating because she married for money. How do any of you know why they married? Believe it or not, some times people happen to fall in love and are lucky enough to do it with a rich man or woman.

  69. Sumodo says:

Elin Woods, the new Chris Brown. Not funny, just true. (Stupid people)

  70. Codzilla says:

If my husband cheated on me with some ho, I’d be tempted to smash out the window of his car, too. And maybe aim for the huevos after that.

  71. Ana says:

You know why there is a double standard? Because Tiger Woods (supposedly) only got a few scratches. Rihanna was severely beaten.
I’m not saying what Elin did was okay because it’s not. Spousal abuse is still wrong…just explaining the double standard.

If I were ever to marry a rich man, I would def. put a cheating clause in the pre-nup. If it were found that he was cheating I could get a bigger settlement. Just saying.

It really is a rare man that is rich, good looking, and faithful. Sorry but it’s true.

Heck now days it is rare to just find a faithful man.

  72. justathought says:

hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…

  73. Jag says:

I agree that she should be held under the same microscope as Chris Brown for her violence. Those kids have to deal with an allegedly cheating father and an allegedly violent mother – not a good combination. Pictures of them eating out in a very public place, smiling, holding hands and being “intimate” in 3, 2, 1…

  74. Jennifer says:

Cheating is a dastardly deed that hurts VERY DEEPLY the victims like Elin. I’m sure he told her a million times over how much he loves her, how he’d never cheat on her, she’s his soulmate, blah blah blah. To have to deal with it on such a global scale like she has or like Jennifer Aniston, etc, makes it even more difficult. Crime of passion. Temporary insanity. He should have his b a l l s cut off.

  75. MJ says:

hmm: I totally agree with you. Well put.

  76. Aprill says:

@hmm I also agree with you. The double standard here is shameful. There is never an excuse for domestic violence.

  77. Shay says:

The story is just too cloudy and the fact that they won’t talk to the cops doesn’t help. Some think Tiger may have taken pain meds for his knees which would explain him hitting the hydrant and being a little off when the cops came. I’ll wait to hear the 911 tapes before I go out on a limb with theory’s.

  78. Lita says:

I agree with JaNae (on this thread) and hmm; he is hurtful and *terminally* guilty of poor taste but didn’t cause or deserve violence. It is surely in a different league to Chris Brown, but it is the same ballpark. ‘But for his actions’ it would not have happened, but go down that road to blaming him for the outcome and you get to ChrisB apologist territory with JaNae which is a frightening place to be.

Ps: snowball, speaking abstractly, I think the part where she went psycho on the car with a *golf club* is where the funny comes in (I loathe violence but really can’t get worked up about property damage where it isn’t like it’s his only asset or can’t afford replacement etc – that is where I’ll wear the ‘provocation’ thing and make allowances)

  79. Tazina says:

The media will do their best to blow this way out of proportion. It is between Tiger and his wife. No alcohol was involved. No third party was injured. Case closed – let’s move on and leave this family alone instead of prying into their private lives.

I just adore everyone coming out of the woodwork to compare Elin with Chris Brown. Anything to give Chris Brown some sympathy.

Oh, poor Chris, the American public has judged him so unfairly! He BEAT a woman repeatedly in the head and face and there are photos and court documents to prove it, but he is still judged unfairly for it!

Give me a break! By the end of all this Elin will be the one in the hot seat. The fact that neither of them has spoken to the police makes this situation harder to judge AT THE MOMENT, than the Chris Brown incident.

I think she is wrong for what she allegedly did, but until I see the same proof and read the same court documents as I saw in the Chris Brown case, I am not judging her based on what some “sources” have said. The only two people that know for sure what happened (like all you CB apologists say) are Tiger and his wife, and right now neither of them are talking. When the truth comes out and it shows she was violent, then I will condemn her the same way I condemned CB.

I can’t imagine anyone cheating on you Codzilla baby! Goddess,,,love the Steve Mcnair reference! Way to bring a new thoughts into the discussion!

  82. Codzilla says:

Kevin: Thanks, darlin’. Lucky for me, my man loves the nuclear-waste-induced-lizard-with-a-heart-of-coal type, so our relationship is pretty solid.

  83. Eileen Yover says:

And here I thought she was just a gold digging trophy wife…obviously she ain’t playing the celebrity/Hollywood game. GOOD FOR HER!! I can imagine she is extremely upset.

  84. Kathie says:

In cases like this I come down on the no touchee the person or the person’s stuff I believe that escalation only escalates however really I couldn’t help but laugh at the tiny sweet looking Swede goin all midevil on the Escalade with..a golf club! Really if all property is communally held in a marriage I guess she was bashing up her jointly owned vehicle. I am truly sympathetic in this situation with Elin and the kids, cheaters need to pay cause in this day of divorce with no social repercussions there is really no excuse. Oh and I’m for the Ho-bag man poaching skag getting some negative legal action as well!

  85. gg says:

He’s a bastard. All cheaters are bastards. I would have wanted to crack a golf club or two on his car too if I’d been in her shoes.

  86. Sumodo says:

I live in the Orlando broadcast area: the local news says all Tiger needs to do is show his drivers license, reg, and proof of insurance. They look at his car and file and accident report. AND DONE! The rest IS UP TO OPRAH!!!!!

  87. Firestarter says:

LOL@Sumodo! Yes, Oprah will get to the bottom of this! She has to save the interview for February sweeps though!

  88. diva says:

I would have loved to have seen the film on this, rich wife running out of multimillion dollar mansion in Louboutins wielding a golf club at Tiger as he drives off into the night.

  89. kc says:

you know-since none of this happened on the golf course and Woods clearly doesn’t want to talk about it, I think it’s actually none of our damn business. a person should be allowed to fight with his wife without this kind of scrutiny.

  90. Kevin says:

Well. St. Pete times is reporting Tiger has denied the affair and the accuser has hired a lawyer. If her claim is false she’s going to need that lawyer.

  91. Teri says:

If there was a case of domestic violence or assault, then the police have to get involved, even if the parties involved are rich and one is Tiger Woods. Since when do you need to break out both the FRONT and REAR windows? The doors looke like they were fine! Hellooo, could have just opened them up.

  92. Kevin says:

Here it comes…..ESPN saying woman is now saying there was no affair. I know Tiger probably has the biggest, baddest, hairy knuckled barrister the law allows. You get what you pay for, and Le Tigre makes just about anyone else appear broke.

  93. la chica says:

i would never have predicted that this woman was a real wife willing to play for keeps. just goes to show that you can’t judge a wife by her hair color. i hope they work things out and i hope that Mr. Sneaky learned his lesson and will keep it zipped from now on.

……..”you know-since none of this happened on the golf course and Woods clearly doesn’t want to talk about it, I think it’s actually none of our damn business. a person should be allowed to fight with his wife without this kind of scrutiny.” -kc

MY WHOLEHEARTED SENTIMENTS EXACTLY! At what point do we NOT deserve to know everyone’s private business? I hope this couple can work things out.

  95. Firestarter says:

I agree to a degree about the privacy issue, but lets face it, celebs do not mind all the good stuff being reported about them, but they never want the bad parts of their private lives reported. Seems to me, that when you are in the public eye, you should expect people invading your privacy. It may not be fair, but at teh same time, don’t put the good stuff out there for people to see either.

if only kayne was riding shotgun.

  97. Divi says:

I don’t think we can call her Violent for one “blow up” that we know of! People are responsible for their actions and emotions ,but damn finding out your man is cheating on you after having his kids and being isolated from scoiety and controlled?? He is a controller too! I found out my man was cheating on me and I drug him down the street about 50 feet at a speed of 55 MPH only with his arm rolled up in the window! I regret it because he could have gotten killed, but atleast he knows I am a crazy bitch and I dont play that!

  98. Divi says:

and he said I dragged him 50 yards!!! he remembers the day that could have been his last !!!lol!!!

  101. Sports says:

For years Tiger Woods has been the sporting ideal – the clean-cut golf genius, the family guy, the kind of man you want to take out for a beer… But now in just the space of a week, his image has totally changed. Tiger had a car crash, a mysterious one that he won’t talk about and he uncharacteristically pulled out of his own tournament. This kind of publicity is rare for Tiger, and that’s why we like it.

Since the accident, sports blogs have been going crazy with comments about Tiger Woods, some negative, most still positive. There were hundreds of comments posted to CNN’s World Sports Blog, some angry and some saying ‘what’s all the fuss?’ This sports blog is one of the top listed in Dozensports.com . In many ways, Tiger’s demise is good for sports blogs. Firstly it gives them something to write about and it creates traffic – in fact, Tiger Woods is now more talked-about online than the war in Afghanistan.

  102. Hello, i think the media didn’t explain the enough truth about the car accident in this case. thank you for sharing.

  103. All I can say is, wow, this is awesome. I want to compliment you on your extraordinary skills as a writer. I am very jealous!
