Jack White: People who ‘normalize’ fascist Donald Trump are ‘also disgusting’

Jack White is a 12-time Grammy winner who has written, produced and performed some truly amazing music over the years. He tends to live quietly in Nashville and Detroit, and he has his own record label and recording studio in Nashville. He’s worked with Beyonce, Loretta Lynn, Alicia Keys, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and many more. He’s an actor too, so don’t come in here with “who??” He’s famous but low-key about it. He’s also a huge Trump-hater and he’s not afraid to call out celebrities who “normalize” that baby-fisted fascist. White posted this on his Instagram alongside images of Trump hanging out with Mel Gibson, Guy Fieri, Joe Rogan and Mark Wahlberg.

Anybody who “normalizes” or treats this disgusting fascist, racist, con man, disgusting piece of sh-t Trump with any level of respect is ALSO disgusting in my book. That’s you Joe Rogan, you Mel Gibson, you Mark Wahlberg, you Guy Fieri. This is a statement from me, not a discussion/debate. -Jack White III

Yep. I agree. Guy Fieri is now dead to me after that sh-t at the UFC fight over the weekend. I expect that kind of douchery from Joe Rogan, Mel Gibson and yes, Mark Wahlberg. Stop normalizing Trump, and even more than that – stop normalizing the people who support Trump. It’s pathetic that so many people still support Trump, still think that he should be president, think that Trump is just what this country needs. Stop infantilizing his unhinged, racist, insurrectionist, misogynist supporters. Every single part of the normalization of this cult is terrifying.

I have looooved JW for 20 years. Genius artist. And Truth Speaker. Also I need Evan Peters to shrug off the AHS crap mantle franchise tag and play Jack in a movie about the early days of The White Stripes.

    • Lucy says:

I love JW so much too! I first saw the White Stripes when they played Radio City Music Hall with the Strokes when I was in college, and it was seriously one of the best shows of my life.

Evan Peters would be GENIUS casting for Jack White. Did you listen to that Third Man Records podcast on the history of the White Stripes? I listened to it during the pandemic and it was wonderful. It would make such a good movie….

  4. That the facts Jack.

Bravo and louder for those of us in the cheep seats sir! I really got more into Guy Fieri over the pandemic out of respect for his charity work for unemployed servers and restaurants in crisis. Dead to me in one pic. I will not support anyone who rubs elbows with racism, mysogny and treason among other things. He doesn’t need me as a fan with his 57!shows, but I think he lost quite a bit of good will with this stunt. I will spend my $$$ on Jack White music

Me too, long-time former restaurant person here who had so much respect for Guy’s efforts to help that community during the pandemic, but he undid it all with that stunt. I will never again watch any show of his or support any venture. Sad, but he’s a grownup who made the choice to shake that POS’s hand.

Jack White is my kind of people. I like people who say things plainly and aren’t afraid to call out evil when they see it. No lies detected, and I need to go download some White Stripes on Apple Music now.

    Jack White is aces 👍👍👍💥!

  9. ClaireB says:

It’s such a relief to see a white man who sees Tr*mp for what he is and is not toadying to his (inexplicable) power. And it saddens me to feel that relief, because he should have been laughed out of town when he first ran.

    • Kiddo says:

Jack has never played around. He might live in Nashville but if you listen to his lyrics, he’s letting you know his politics. Scroll back on his Instagram you’ll see him thoroughly lambast Elon Musk when he took over Twitter and made choices back in December. He turns off comments and states this is not a debate forum. He went off when Roe was overturned. We need more blunt speakers like him.

My respect for Jack White went way, way, way up when he replaced Morgan Wallen at the last minute on SNL during the height of the pandemic (before vaccines were available) when pix of Morgan Wallen kissing multiple women at a party surfaced. Not only was he a more than worthy replacement for Wallen, but he put in a solid electric performance, which he dedicated to Eddie Van Halen. And he played the cobalt blue guitar Van Halen designed for him. Awesome!

    Jack White is not wrong👍

  12. Seraphina says:

I see nothing wrong for making a logical and rational statement. He is 100% correct.

  13. MoonTheLoon says:

I never got too into Guy Fieri. His cooking always struck me as the result of someone who gets drunk on peewater trying to act like he can cook. So continuing to ignore him will be no problem. The others have always had at least a corner of their trash flag out for ages. So no shock to me. For any of them.

any second now, expect the likes of “kid rock” to declare Jack White “not that talented”.
