Taylor Swift skipped Sunday’s Vikings-Chiefs game, much to the dismay of the NFL and sports broadcasters. The NFL is likely preparing its very own Swiftie-merch to debut at the next Chiefs game. While we know that Taylor left New York last week, we didn’t know where she went or whether she spent any time with Travis on his 34th birthday. According to Us Weekly, Taylor left New York last week and flew down to Kansas City to spend a day or two with Kelce after his birthday.
Taylor Swift didn’t go to Travis Kelce’s most recent NFL game, but the duo still managed to sneak in a hangout under the radar. Swift, 33, quietly flew to Kansas City from Nashville on Friday, October 6, “to see Travis,” an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly. The visit happened one day after Kelce’s 34th birthday when he opted for a “chill night,” per the source.
When Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates traveled to Minnesota later in the weekend for their Sunday, October 8, game as Swift seemingly went home. The NFL confirmed on Sunday that the pop star was not in attendance at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium as the Chiefs took on the Vikings.
Kelce suffered a non-contact low-ankle sprain during Sunday’s game, but he returned to the field after receiving medical treatment and went on to score a touchdown in the third quarter. The Chiefs ultimately won the game 27-20.
You know what? I think it’s great that Taylor and Travis have both taken it down a notch. While it’s clear that neither of them are bothered by the attention (for the moment), it also feels like they actually want to get to know each other and spend time together in a non-performative way.
OK, so I just looked up her tour schedule (sorry, Swifties, I did not have that information in my immediate memory bank). She’s in South America in November, then she has December and January “off” from touring, then in February-March she’s in Australia and Asia, then next May, she starts up in Europe. So, she’s not booked solid for the next six months, I was worried that there is a ticking clock hanging above Traylor, but it’s not so. If they can make it, she’ll be around in December and January. If the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl, she would probably be able to attend.

i think travis and taylor both realized the circus that NFL created around them for publicity and noped out. I still think this mainly started as a PR relationship…but i can see how having that camera on all the time can be exhausting. maybe they started a new rom com trope: the PR relationship that turned into more. cue rain scene, declarations of undying love, and taylor’s next album.

I think it was a combination of Travis having a little crush on the pop star and betting his friends he could get a date with her by giving her a bracelet at her concert, and her being encouraged privately by her friends and publicly by people like Erin Andrews to give him a try. Because why not? She’s never been with a pro athlete before. Miss Americana might as well test those domestic waters.
And they seem to have hit it off well enough to at least keep seeing each other for now. The overall reaction has been positive and he’s gotten more followers, so it works for their PR. Neither is attention shy but they both know too much will create a back-lash, so pulling down the shades a little more is a good plan going forward.

The kelce brothers Play each other the week of Thanksgiving if she flies back for that and goes to the game with the family I might explode. I genuinely like his entire family and they are certainly making her more likeable.
I was glad not to see her at the game after the NFL’s PR put out that snippy statement in response to Travis saying on his podcast that they’d focused too much on her; she’s got all the promo for the tour movie already so it’d have been way too much!
(Also a pedantic note: she’ll be performing in Tokyo the weekend of the Super Bowl)
It seems to me that Kelce is the first guy she has dated who seems genuinely into her, and I say that’s good for her!
