Nick Cannon spends $200k a year taking his kids to Disneyland

Nick Cannon has 12 children with six different women. They are, in age order: twins Moroccan and Monroe, 12, Golden Sagon, six, twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, two, Powerful Queen, two, Legendary Love, 16 months, Rise Messiah, 15 months, Onyx Ice, 14 months, Beautiful Zeppelin, 12 months, Halo Marie, 11 months, and Zen, who passed away from brain cancer at five months. In the past, Nick has said that he needs to make at least $100 million a year to maintain his lifestyle. He’s also said in the past that he won’t financially support any of his baby mamas if they date anyone other than him. He can still date as many women as he wants to, though.

So what does one do when they have too many children to spend time with or keep track of? Take them to Disneyland, of course. On Friday, Cannon appeared on a New York City radio show and shared that he goes to Disneyland “at least once a month” to celebrate special occasions, including his kids’ birthdays and holidays. And, yes, it’s just as outrageously costly as you’re imagining it is.

“Do you know how much money I spend at Disneyland a year?” Cannon asked the hosts, according to the Daily Mail, to which one of them responded, “A lot.”

He confirmed their guess, saying, “To move around Disney, like, I’m probably spending $200,000 a year at Disneyland.”

He said the money often goes to paying for hotel rooms for the kids, a chaperone to take them around the park and other add-ons along with the base tickets for the theme park.

“Disneyland is expensive already off [the] top if [you’re] trying to stay in the hotel,” Cannon added. “It’s not how it used to be. You gotta make reservations.”

The actor and host noted it’s a lot different from when he used to get free tickets to the park for hosting its Christmas morning parade. ”It’s no longer free, and I only had two kids then,” Cannon said, referring to twins Moroccan and Monroe, both 12, whom he shares with Mariah Carey.

[From Yahoo]

In the scheme of things, I guess $200k is a drop in the bucket if you’re making $100 mil, but still, this is wild. We took our two kids to Disneyland for the day back in July. Tickets for the four of us plus parking were $750 and we didn’t even do California Adventure! Lawdy, I can’t even imagine a world in which we went monthly with add-ons, nannies – sorry – chaperones and hotel rooms. The cost of Disney tickets has been under fire lately because it really is becoming too expensive for the average family to go. As a result, ticket sales have been down. Thus, Disney is currently offering $50 children’s tickets for visits between January 8 and March 10.

But back to the Cannon Family Follies. Does Nick go with them each time, too? According to the Internet, Cannon has homes in Saddle River, NJ, Temecula, CA, and possibly Joshua Tree, CA. If he is flying out there from Jersey once a month, I wonder if that’s included in his costs, too. The majority of Nick’s kids are under age three, so they’ve been getting in for free for now. But it’s just a matter of time before Nick’s agent is going to need to get back on the phone with whoever books the host for Disney’s Christmas parade. Get those perks where you can, man.

So I guess talking them to Disneyland is compensation for not being in the children’s lives on a regular basis.

  2. FancyPants says:

What is the point of taking a baby to Disneyland? Just that the parents want to go? A two-year-old is not going to remember or probably even enjoy that experience.

    • Smart&Messy says:

I agree, 3 yrs is the absolute earliest I would take them. Under 3 a really awsome playground or an afternoon in a waterpark is better suited to their needs. The excerpt doesn’t say how long they stay in the hotel, so maybe they spread things out to 2-3 days and the babies can have proper naps and quite time. And does he take all of them multiple times a year? It sounds kind of lazy, like he can’t be arsed to come up with anything else meaningful to do with them and with the chaperones around he just shows his face, fools around a bit (if that) and swipes his card.

In this case I think it’s photos for IG. Look how great our lives are!!!!!!!!

  3. Nubia says:

When he says if they date he wont ‘finacially support’ them is that seperate from child support!? Because thats ridiculous and i am sure the courts will say other wise. Maybe he buys them houses and material things he doesnt have to.

    • sevenblue says:

I read that they never went to court. Apparently, the women call him when they need something. If they start to date someone, he said he will stop that. His ass will be on court no doubt, but with these many babies, I don’t know how much child support they would get.

    • Bettyrose says:

This comes up every time. Nick is in absolute denial and somehow he’s convinced these women that an informal agreement where they live by his rules is better than a court order. It is possible they’re getting bigger payouts than court ordered child support, but if he’s really making $100 million, seems like it might be worth it to test the waters of court ordered child support and date whoever TF you want.

  4. Ana Maria says:

Don’t know, but it’s weird to me that he talks a lot about costs and money; I don’t think he is poor, but I also don’t think he has a fortune in the 100 millions range

    • Mimi says:

New money folks always talk a lot about money bc they didn’t grow up with it. I just feel bad for Mariah–she will be forever linked with this fool.

      • bettyrose says:

She’ll be forever linked to him because of shared children/grandchildren, but she’s a household name and he is not. I don’t think his creepiness impacts her public image, fortunately.

  5. Tursiops says:

The “chaperone” he is referring to is the private VIP tour guide. They wear a plaid vest- you can see the tour guide’s vest briefly in the middle video. I’ve heard the tour guide costs start at 3K-5K per day- you get to skip all lines and get free bottled water and snacks (but still have to pay for your meals and park tickets).

    • Kate says:

That is insane. You could have a whole beach vacation for the cost of not having to wait in lines at Disney. Who? How? Why?

      • Tursiops says:

Yeah, it’s easy to get to 10K per day at Disney with VIP tour, tickets, fanciest dining option and fanciest hotel. I’ve heard that “regular” rich people do this, it’s not just for celebrities. But certainly not in my budget!

      • Kirsten says:

Or he could even just spend regular time with his children and not have to throw all this cash around. I’m sure they’d honestly prefer that to be escorted around a theme park by a stranger.

      • Smart&Messy says:

Kirsten, this exactly. Go to disney once a year, and then just spend time with them. However, if he tries to spend timw with every household he hqs no time left to earn the money he promised these women.

    • Rosie says:

I had no idea that was a thing, @Tursiops. Thanks for explaining. Also, that is still insane haha.

  6. Beenie says:

If his children’s mothers don’t get a lawyer to make sure they are financially protected when this guy inevitably goes bankrupt, I will absolutely judge them for it.

They have all had years to sort this out. I will have 0 sympathy if they don’t do anything to secure legal, documented child support, and then run to the tabloids in 3 years (at most!) crying about how Nick is broke.

    • Mimi says:

Yup. Nick does not have Bezos money. His hosting gigs are drying up BUT he does have a production company that churns out content, so maybe, maybe, he’ll be okay.

  7. TOM says:

Good for him. I only wish I had $200k per year for the Disneyland Resort. We can manage it maybe 2x a year staying off-property. We live an hour away but are vintage and get tired so hotel it is. But $200k…all the Grand Californian Hotel and tigger tails (chocolate-covered marshmallows on a stick) I wanted as often as I wanted … wow!

  8. Frank says:

    Monroe is a nice name.

  9. Andrea says:

Oh Disney should be paying him to stay away. Nothing but bad advertising! Thanks Nick for reminding me I never want to go to the place of worshiping the idol of consumerism. Just spend time with your children please. Maybe a free park or the beach?!

    • BeanieBean says:

My first eight years of life were spent in SoCal, with working class parents & two siblings. We mostly went to the beach or the local national forest or state park–you know, the free stuff. But we also got to go to places like the zoo or Disneyland (fairly new at the time). This was in the ticket book days, A through E tickets. And we went more than once; also, when relatives visited that always included a trip to Disneyland. Which is a long way of saying, it used to be affordable for us average folks. It’s crazy ridiculous now, and that’s just a shame. Kids do love the place.

  10. JaneS says:

I still do not understand how Nick Cannon can possibly be making enough money to support his Army of children.

What on Earth can these women be thinking?
There is no way I would agree to have children with NC.

When all these kids are turning 12, 13, 14, 15 that will be one hot mess.
Teenagers with assorted Moms, what could go wrong? LOL

Do all the Moms intend to have the kids be involved with each other as they grow up?

Each and every Mom needs to get court ordered child support legally enforced.
Child support, health care, dental, schooling.
Can you imagine if say, 3-4 of the kids need braces at the same time? What is that about $7K each or more?

Nick Cannon and Alec Baldwin, you both have rocks in your heads. Far, far too many kids.
