Taylor Swift wore all black for Emma Stone’s NYC ‘Poor Things’ premiere

Here are some photos from the big New York premiere of Poor Things, a film by Yorgos Lanthimos. I was surprised, as Poor Things made its way through some film festivals, that critics really liked it. It looks terrifically weird, possibly too weird. Anyway, the big headline from the premiere is that Taylor Swift came out to support her friend Emma Stone. As Taylor said in her Time Magazine POTY interview, she knows she brings chaos whenever she steps outside, but she’s not going to hide in her house anymore.

Emma wore a custom Louis Vuitton look, because she’s a brand ambassador for LV. I wish… fewer people worked with LV. LV collects brand ambassadors like trading cards and the label rarely delivers consistently good looks for their people. I’m also including photos of Mark Ruffalo with his wife (Ruffalo is also in the movie). I love his brooch. Oh, and I’m including a pic of Margaret Qualley too – she wore Chanel.

As for Taylor’s look… it’s okay. It’s something I would wear, honestly – a simple black maxi dress, a furry coat, slingback heels and a cute purse. Taylor’s style can be all over the place but she looked really nice here.

Is her hair darker? It looks great. I think very dark brown hair would be stunning on her with her eyes. I actually kind of like Emma’s dress even though I can’t tell what’s really going on underneath or see the back. In that pic tho, it’s fine.

I think it’s a product – but I love the way she’s styling her fringe. I wish they had styled her hair like this for her TIME Cover. PS: I love her clutch. Is it a celestial design? Does anyone know?

Taylor looks lovely in all black here. That yellow-green dress on Emma, however…

  3. sevenblue says:

OMG, Emma, why is this dress?

Also, a question: if you’re a brand ambassador, can’t you say no to a dress? Do you have to wear it?

    • SarahCS says:

I just hope she is getting PAID for constantly humiliating herself like this for them. LV has no clue these days.

    • bettyrose says:

What kind of contract requires someone to wear something that awful? I mean, prison does. Private schools can be brutal. But this dress? What did Emma do to deserve that?

  4. Normades says:

I’m sure Emma is happy to have Taylor there. It’s great publicity for her movie.

Poor Emma! She looks like the mouse AND the cheese in that thing!

Margaret’s off to a Beetlejuice hula party and Ms Buffalo has Botox droop.

We need luxury fashion to stop this race to the shittiest thing that’s currently happening, wtf.

Not a Taylor stan but appreciate the low key, classic, “I’m not trying to upstage anyone” vibe

  6. Arizona says:

she’s also friends with Margaret because she’s married to Jack Antonoff, so double the support!

  7. jp says:

Taylor looks gorgeous, so does Mark’s wife. Emma’s dress is a crime against fashion and a crime against Emma. Awful.

    • WaterDragon says:

@jp, totally agree on Emma’s dress. It is hideous, too tacky to be true. I would insist on a better dress from LV.

Does anyone else think Taylor got bigger implants? she looks great but didn’t feel necessary!

    • Snoozer says:

I think this is Taylor in support mode. Simple, all black look so she doesn’t steal the stars’ thunder.

  9. atlantababe says:

taylor should do something about her bangs, they always look weird and unkempt. and yeah she got bigger implants, just why. she looks pretty tho minus the bangs

    • TheBayTea says:

I don’t think she got bigger implants. She’s just gained weight.

    • Bellah says:

Could just be a good push-up bra.
I have little mosquito bites but you wouldn’t guess it on date night when I don my push up bra and serve Victorian era décolletage. Rest of the time I rock a sports bra or wireless bralette.

+1 on TS also there to support Margaret Qualley who is married to Jack Antonoff

TS may also be there to support the director, who also directed The Favourite and coincidentally, Joe Alwyn’s next film (yet to come out).

Sorry Joe, they’re my friends TOO!
