Sydney Sweeney wore a completely sheer dress to an ‘Anyone But You’ premiere

I genuinely think Sydney Sweeney is so pretty and sexy, but I have nothing but sympathy for her as I watch her try to navigate how to dress her figure with her very large bust. I kind of think Sydney doesn’t have a great style eye, and maybe she depends too much on a stylist who doesn’t know exactly what they’re doing? All I’m saying is that her style can be really hit or miss.

These photos are from the Australian premiere of Anyone But You, which was actually filmed entirely IN Australia. Glen Powell didn’t bother flying out again, so Sydney got the most attention on the carpet. Of course she wore little more than a beach cover up! If this dress was knee-length, I would be convinced that it IS a beach coverup, something to wear over your bikini when you go to the beach bar. While that’s sort of on-brand for Australia, for a big premiere it’s… not the best look. InStyle had a nicer write-up about it, basically claiming that Sydney is on-trend with “naked dressing,” visible bras and panties, lots of sheer. That… was a trend this year?

Meanwhile, it looks like Sydney is definitely still with her fiance Jonathan Davino. He’s been around, on the periphery of Sydney’s promotional tour, although he has not walked any of the carpets with her. He flew to Australia too – the Mail got photos of him. Back in April/May, there was a lot of talk about Sydney possibly dumping him for Glen Powell. Guess that didn’t happen (although I still think something did happen around that time).

I don’t think she actually has any style. I think she is someone who wears whatever her stylist puts on her. They keep trying to make her a fashion girlie but I don’t see it. She doesn’t have the innate style to pull that off. Anyway – I hate this dress.

I don’t hate it as beach wear. Daring a bikini but with a bit of a cover up, perhaps with built in UV protection?

So sick of sheers in general. And Sweeney should try something other than sex bomb.

Agree. And I think she’s wearing boy short pants, which make her look boxy and oddly covered up in terms of underwear, as if she couldn’t commit to looking nude. Slips and sheers are SO boring and unflattering. At least in the 90s there was a sort of new feel to them, like a modern take on the longer flapper style. But they need to go and now!

Honestly? I think that’s all she’s got. I haven’t seen any evidence of immense talent and range so far.

  4. Where did she order it from Temu? The seems are all wonky and it’s just a mess.

Technically, she looks v good in the bathing suit. The sheer draping over the bathing suit is wonky. Would love to see her in something better bc she could really rock some looks. Just please don’t let it be countless mermaid dresses.

  6. JaneS says:

Why not just walk around in just the bra and undies?

The sheer look is old, old.
Bring out the new fashions, please.

All these younger actresses are melting together for me, look alikes.

Love this color on her. If the material wasn’t sheer, this would be a win. But it is sheer…and it’s a mess.

I like the fit from the back, front not so much. I really wish she would dump her fiancé he’s much older and sketchy. Reminds me of Britney Murphy’s (RIP) dude.

I don’t mind her not having style, it’s the stylist I mind. They should be able to dress her for her body type and in something actually flattering.

The stylist is a bozo here…the underwear even looks awful. Even if I was on a beach I wouldn’t wear this a coverup – I actually have cuter cover ups than this

In summary pretty girl x terrible stylist = this doo doo

She needs to fire her stylist. They either hate her, or have zero idea how to dress someone with boobs. And the sheer look (which is as tacky as can be) is also about 3 years out of date at this point. It’s not “daring” -it’s crass.

She’s beautiful but it’s not a good look. She should hire a different stylist or she’s going to end up being Emily Ratajkowski in a few years, which is a shame because she’s talented.

    Bless her heart . . .

Her bust isn’t THAT big. She’s probably around a D cup, and with the prevalence of implants in Hollywood she should have plenty of people to look to for style inspiration and any stylist with some experience should know how to navigate it.

I think it’s a combo of her not having an eye for style, and working with a stylist who isn’t very good.

The coverup dress is awful from the front. It makes her look boxy and the wonky seams are very distracting. It’s almost like they wanted to make the seams a feature, but then shied away from it? From the back it’s cute though.

I’m a D cup and she’s definitely bigger. A video she did for SavagexFenty awhile back showed her in a DD cup.

Hollywood stylists aren’t used to that or, for a large part, natural boobs—let alone large natural boobs. Just look at the issues Christina Hendricks used to have. Or plus size actresses. It’s all about the sample size.
