Jason Kelce wore a Tinder shirt on Valentine’s Day as a nod to how he met his wife

Jason Kelce seems like a really fun dude to be around. He’s hilarious on his and Travis’ New Heights podcast and doesn’t appear to take himself too seriously. Jason and his wife Kylie have been together since 2015 and married since 2018. They have three young daughters together: Wyatt Elizabeth, four, Elliotte Ray, two, and Bennett Llewellyn, who turns one on February 23. Jason and Kylie famously met through Tinder. They’ve told the story of their first date both in the Prime Video documentary Kelce last year and again on a September 2023 episode of New Heights.

For Valentines Day this year, Jason and Kylie went out for dinner at a local Philadelphia restaurant. Honestly, I feel like life with Jason is never a dull moment. While they were at dinner, Kylie snapped a picture of her husband’s very romantic dinner attire. Jason wore a long-sleeve t-shirt with the Tinder logo on it and the text, “Never forget where you came from…” OMG, amazing.

As the couple enjoyed a Valentine’s Day meal at K’FAR restaurant on Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, was decked out in a long-sleeved shirt featuring the Tinder logo.

“Are you kidding me with this?” Kylie, 31, wrote on a photo on her Instagram Story of her husband smiling while perusing the menu, adding a heart face emoji.

The parents of three daughters first shared how they met in their Prime Video documentary Kelce last year.

“Jason won’t let me lie about this,” Kylie said. “We met on Tinder.”

Initially, Kylie said she didn’t even know the person she matched with on the app was an athlete. “None of his pictures showed Eagles football,” she said. But she and her friends made the connection after Googling him.

So when Jason invited Kylie to meet him and some friends at a local bar, she said she thought it would be “hilarious either way” if it turned out to really be the Eagles player or someone “pretending to be him,” she said. Not only did Jason turn out to be the real deal, he thought Kylie was pretty notable too.

“Right away when she walks in the door, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen,” Jason recalled.

The athlete said it was “very much like love at first sight” when he and Kylie met that night. Now married for six years, the couple recently debated what they would do for Valentine’s Day in the latest episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast New Heights, but Jason refused to tell.

“It’s gonna be a surprise,” he said. “Got it all planned out.”

An unconvinced Kylie predicted that the NFL star would call Emily, a woman they work with, to book them a dinner reservation as soon as the episode concluded.

“Listen, Emily makes our reservations,” Jason replied. When Kylie raised the question of who would look after their girls during their date night, Jason quickly improvised.

“I thought we’ve been away from the kids for so long that it’d be good to include the kids, ‘cause I know you miss them so much,” he answered, to which Kylie sarcastically remarked, “He’s a hopeless romantic, everyone!”

Looks like Emily came through with those reservations, lol. I’m glad they were able to figure something out. I hope Emily also made sure that Jason got Kylie something really nice for V-Day this year. Like I said above, it seems like life with Jason is a nonstop adventure and I wonder what kind of shenanigans he’ll get up to now that he’s left the Eagles and is likely headed to retirement. I could totally see him going the brand ambassador route a la Ben Affleck and including his family and extended family in on the fun. I also think it’s pretty cool that Jason didn’t advertise his professional football gig on his Tinder profile. That makes me think that he’s the real deal and not just some total ego show.

I find Jason and Kylie infinitely more interesting than Travis and Taylor.

  2. I love these two. They need their own show

    • Josephine says:

such a conundrum though because i would honestly like them less if they jumped on the reality bandwagon. seems like he’ll have plenty of work and doesn’t need to do a show that would impede on the privacy of his family. i don’t think any of those shows end up being decent for the kids or really even for the adults.

That’s a really sweet, genuine, giant smile in the Tinder shirt.

    They’re both so cute together.

  4. Lucy says:

They are hilarious, Kylie is a queen, and she knows him so well 😂. I hope to someday hear what she thinks of Taylor, but it won’t happen.

Also, Jason talked about getting star struck in Vegas, it was meeting Adam Sandler and I think David Spade that did it 😂.

    • Truthiness says:

💯 agree, they are hilarious and down to earth. Also I love the way Travis and Kylie team up to poke fun at “the better Kelce brother.”

  5. Boxy Lady says:

He just did a Frank’s Red Hot commercial so he’s doing his thing. He could do football commentary as well, even with continuing the podcast. Sexy Batman will be just fine when he retires.

  6. KS says:

Jason hasn’t announced he’s leaving the Eagles. I mean it seems like a definite possibility but so far it’s just speculation.

    • Go Birds! says:

Yes! He may retire, but he made it clear that even if he does, he wants to continue to work with the Eagles organization.

Tinder leads to relationships? I guess a hookup can turn into something more, just like in the olden days when hookups began at bars. Sometime I regret that I never got to app date (been partnered for more than 20 years, pre explosion of app dating). I did a few Match.com and JDates in my mid-twenties that didn’t lead to anything, but I am so curious about the Tinder experience of just swiping till you see what you want, like buying shoes. And yes I’ve freely told my partner I want to try it without actually hooking up with anyone. 😉

I’m sure Tinder leads to mostly hookups, but my sister did meet her boyfriend on it a couple of years ago and he’s a wonderful guy. They’re a great match and I think she got very lucky.

    • adrienne says:

I think Tinder is mostly for hookups but I also met my amazing partner on there, so you just never know!

    • tinamarie says:

I was on it for awhile and it was mostly full of douchbags lol. However, I did meet my husband on there. We both swiped right and he hit me with a pickup line a couldn’t resists. He said “Good evening, How are you doing?” The rest is history. We’ll be together 7 years this November.

I LOVE it! Polite, non committal but friendly. Seems so simple, but I know from reading a million threads on this topic that most dudes don’t get it.

    • blacktoypoodle says:

If you’re a hookup person you’ll meet hookups there. If you’re a relationship person you’ll find relationships (three of my friends met their husbands there). It says everything about who you are and your screening process. Not any different than a bar or a grocery store or walking the dog.

Thanks all for these comments. A friend of mine in her 40s decided she was gonna hook up like a man and went wild on Tinder. I was completely fascinated. She got tired of it after a few months, but the ease of “shopping” for a hookup rather than taking a chance on meeting someone at a bar or party is intriguing. A relationship is a different ball game, but I would imagine having access to meet so many people improves the odds.

    • Truthiness says:

It was on Tinder but the podcast flashed his profile where he said he wanted a relationship, cuddling and kids. Not very Tinder-y sentiments.

  8. FancyPants says:

It’s so endearing that he still acts/feels like he won the lottery by finding her on Tinder (and she seems to feel the same way).

  9. Barbara says:

The best part about their first date is that Jason was so drunk he eventually passed out and had to be carried out of the bar (he’s around 290 lbs, btw) by another football player friend. Kylie thought it was hilarious, I guess proving she was exactly the right woman for him.
