Last month, we hoped that Travis Kelce would spend some serious time with Taylor Swift during the international leg of her Eras Tour. After all, Taylor flew all over the place to support Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs during football season, and she even flew to Las Vegas from Japan just to watch the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. After partying in Kansas City and Las Vegas post-Super Bowl, Travis eventually made his way to Sydney, Australia during Taylor’s Oz dates. Travis only stayed for two days, then he flew back to Las Vegas to party with the Chiefs again. Taylor’s tour kept rolling on to Singapore… and Travis flew to Pennsylvania, where he was seen out in Philly over the weekend:
Travis Kelce is spending some time in his brother’s neck of the woods. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, was in Philadelphia, which is where his brother, Jason Kelce, lives with his family and plays football, over the weekend. While Travis was in town, he made a pit stop with celebrity barber Willis Orengo, and the barber shared a photo of the two on his Instagram on Saturday.
Travis’ fresh cut comes amid his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s latest stop on her record-breaking Eras Tour. Swift, 34, performed her second show in Singapore on Sunday and delighted fans when she announced the fourth and final version of her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Two things can be true at once: Taylor is working and she probably doesn’t have tons of time to spend with her boyfriend right now AND it looks pretty bad that Travis really doesn’t want to spend some of his off-season with his girlfriend. Now, Travis has a long off-season – the Chiefs are not due back for training camp until July. And it’s likely that Travis is probably more interested in hanging with Taylor during her European tour dates. But still!
Meanwhile, Us Weekly’s sources claim that Taylor is already writing love songs about Travis, with a source saying: “Taylor has already written songs about Travis. She’s written at least two songs. They have to do with their love story and falling in love with him. She likely won’t share them with anyone. They’re very special. Songs are like poetry to her. Just like most people journal, Taylor writes lyrics. Her relationship with Travis has inspired her.” If he doesn’t get his ass on the tour, she’s going to write songs about how much he sucks and he was never there for her when she put so much into the relationship. He’s hanging out with his family in Philly, not ignoring her. He did a charity event with his brother and got a haircut. I don’t think he’s seen his nieces in a while, and his dad lives out there too. He’s gearing up to go on the European leg of the tour with her, he’s taking some down time with his family before he’s out of the country.
Doesn’t she have a break coming up in her tour? I think she’s looking for a Blake and Ryan kind of relationship, they’ve recently been in the news for having a two week rule for how long they can go without seeing each other, like H&M had when dating. I think he’s hanging out in Philly with family so he can be in NY when she gets back. But 🤷🏼♀️

Just because an NFL player isn’t on the field at that moment. Doesn’t mean their not working. Like you said his brother might be announcing his retirement. And it won’t be long before Travis will have to do that. And both of them need to work to figure out what they are going to do after that. So that might be why Travis is still in the states. He’s trying to get endorsements. And probably some commercials. And maybe even dip his toe into something on TV. Maybe hosting a game show or something. Would the Taylor fans rather have him mooching off of her?
She has three more dates in Singapore this weekend and then she’s off until early May. Given how impossible it would be for them to do anything in public (not easy for tall blond lady and gargantuan companion to blend in there) why deal with the headache when you you have six weeks of uninterrupted couple time head of you.
Or maybe she doesn’t want him hanging around while she’s on tour? She has rehearsals, fixing things, resting. She is literally working. Let her be. And him. They are privy to their conversations–had she wanted him to stay, he would’ve stayed.
Exactly @mimi – When she’s on tour (rehearsing, travelling here and there, public engagements when you’re there with promoters etc..) this doesn’t leave much private time – plus it’s a long trip and time difference between the States in SE Asia! (I know, because I lived there) not to mention hot and humid. I can’t imagine a man of his weight and height being that comfortable with 34C daily temperatures with 80%+ humidity just to sit alone all day in a hotel room
He probably has sponsorship commitments all through the NFL combine and draft. It may be the “off season” for games but players make their money and set up opportunities for the future during this period. I’m guessing he’s not just hanging with his fam but is rubbing elbows with team, media and brand honchos all shepherded by his managers and agents. There is so much hustle to get to the next level that occurs off the field.

If you have watched the Kelce documentary ,12 months ago that is where he was and he was there this weekend as well . They made $400 k for the weekend last year when he was being hated by most of the people at the thing . And he always wears Green in Philly lol . It’s a mistake to think his time is freed up. The pod and the off season is where he makes far more of his money. They were filming over the weekend.
Uncle Trav has three nieces in Philly he probably hasn’t spent much time with during the season, and brother Jason has been grappling with the decision about his future. In fact, looks like Jason has a press conference scheduled for this afternoon. So if Travis takes some time out for family (and maybe to wind down from a very tough end of season push), good for him. And as @Pinkosaurus notes above, could be a lot of committments and business interests he has to attend to with the NFL activity this time of year. We’ll see where he is in a few weeks.
I have no inside info, by any means, but his brother just announced that he will be holding a press conference to announce his final decision about whether he will be returning to play football next season. In previous years when he has been considering retirement, Jason has put out funny videos. This feels different. I suspect Travis is in town to provide support to him as he announces his retirement.

Having seen the Eras tour last summer, Taylor is a machine onstage. The concert lasts hours and there are no breaks longer than 3 minutes for costume changes (like seriously when does this woman pee and get water). She is likely doing recovery stretching, rehydrating, and resting in between shows. And a Kelce is likely going to be more sympathetic to that and let her do her thing! I have this mental image of them asleep in a hotel room with their his and hers recuperation IVs (only half joking)
She has said that after a bunch of shows she spends the entire day in bed resting, only getting up to get food. So I think your visual of a recuperation IV is not too far off the mark!
He’s hanging out in Philly bc Jason is most likely going to announce his retirement today. It’s a very good look for Travis to be with his family right now. And I’m sure Taylor knows exactly what’s going on.
How many shows is she doing in Singapore? 6 shows? Travis can show up every night and watch his lady but the day of the shows she’s in full prep mode usually. Going to the Australia Zoo and walking around with him the day of her concert must have taken a lot out of her considering she walks and dances around on stage for 3+ hours. And he’s probably seen maybe having him around is more of a distraction to her when she’s focused on getting through her shows. And when she’s not on stage, she’s probably ready to collapse, she isn’t going to want to go to a club and party. Also if Jason is about to make the big “I’m retiring from football” announcement, Travis will want to be there for his brother. I’m guessing they have long term plans for him to join her sporadically through the next few months. Once she’s done with this round of shows, she has the entire month of April off no? I’m sure they’ll be together 24/7 then.
There was an interview with Taylor Swift that her schedule was booked at least two years in advance. Why would we assume Travis Kelce isn’t involved in something similar, where they have to carve out snippets of time? Both of them had high power careers before dating, and it appears TK has been good at playing the long game with his career. He’s hard at work outside of the NFL in the offseason. Give them time people.
