Venus Williams turned up at the Met Gala! She’s been going to a lot of events this year, probably because she’s barely a tennis player these days (she’s had a lot of injuries in recent years). Venus went for a rather mod Marc Jacobs. She looks like a disco ball! It’s great. I also wonder about the structure underneath this dress because I don’t think Venus is actually this “hippy” – it feels like there’s either padding or something else going on. Anyway, a great look for Vee.
Dua Lipa in Marc Jacobs. Dua was on a tear last year and during this year’s awards season – she looked so good whenever she was on a red carpet. And now… not so much. I think she was trying to look really rock-and-roll and it just came off as boring and try-hard. The cut on the skirt makes me question if we’re about to see this woman’s mons.
Karol G in Marc Jacobs – she’s also wearing prosthetic ears, because I guess we need some Lord of the Rings energy. That’s what this look is giving: LOTR.

Venus. Looked. So. GOODT! From her head to her feet, no it wasn’t really on theme but she is glowing and I love it.
Karol G is giving the cinched waist illusion without preventing her from breathing. It’s a really lovely and whimsical look.
Serena is the GOAT, but Venus has a much better grasp for things that suit her.
Her styling is almost always better than anything S has worn to red carpets.
I am truly over who can be the most naked in public while calling it fashun — I blame it on Kanye and his Stockholm wife.
Venus looked great! Very disco mirror ball chic 🙂 That dress does look padded at the hips because Vee doesn’t appear to be that hippy.
And just to note, the” barely a tennis player” comment seems kind of mean since she’s got a serious autoimmune disease (Sjogrens Syndrome) that went undiagnosed for years. The fact that she’s as accomplished as she is (5 Olympic medals, 4 gold 1 silver), 23 Grand Slam titles (7 singles, 14 doubles, 2 Mixed) and 49 overall titles, is pretty awesome for a woman who will be 44 in a little over a month. The Sjogrens is absolutely finally taking a toll on her ability to play the kind of tennis she’s used to, so…

I like Serena’s makeup.
