Sofia Vergara is yet another celebrity with a beauty/skincare brand. Sofia launched Toty in 2023, and Toty is focused on tinted sunscreens and sunblocks. At least that’s how Sofia is making it sound in her Allure interview. She’s focused on skin protection not only for health reasons but also sunscreen-as-anti-aging. Toty also sells straight non-tinted SPF and “a resurfacing alpha hydroxy acid treatment that can help minimize existing sun damage.” Thankfully, Sofia knows that she has to chat a bit about her life to sell her Toty products, so I enjoyed this interview. Some highlights:
Toty’s products cannot work miracles: “If you’re tanning your face, there’s nothing in the world that you put on at night that is going to give you good skin.”
Her own sunscreen diligence over the years has paid off: “I do think it makes a difference. I’m 51, and I can compare myself to my friends that have never [worn sunscreen], and now they’re all like, ‘F–k, why didn’t we pay attention to you?’”
She’s also fine with lasers, peels and plastic surgery. “I believe in all of that [too]. I feel like you have to take advantage of everything that is out there. I mean, if you care about aging. Nothing wrong if you don’t care about it. It’s not the end of the world. But if you do, now there’s so much stuff out there. I feel like I’m going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I’m ready. I wish I had more downtime; I would’ve done stuff already. [But] because I’m in front of the camera, it’s not like I can do something and then sit in my house recuperating for weeks.”
She already does Botox: “I’ve been doing Botox for a long time in my neck, [around] my eyes. I don’t believe in filler. I feel filler does good when you’re really young and you want a little bit more cheeks or to plump your lips a little bit. At my age—51—I feel it’s not going to make you look younger. It is going to make you look more done. And I feel like it actually doesn’t pull you up; it kind of weighs [you down]. So I am against that, once you hit a certain age.”
Menopause is not a dirty word: “No matter who you are, no matter how much money you have, no matter what ethnicity you are, no matter anything, that’s the one thing we as women are all going to get is menopause. My girlfriends that are my age, some of them can’t sleep. Some of them have night sweats. It’s good to be aware that that happens. I don’t feel like women need to suffer with symptoms when there are things now that can make you suffer less.”
She’s not menopausal yet: “I’m not really scared of [menopause]. I’m pre-menopause. I’m not feeling any hot flashes, but sometimes my memory’s not the same, and I used to have the best memory. Sometimes [I’ll say], ‘Where the f–k are my glasses?’ And they’re right here. Stuff like that never used to happen to me. My knees hurt more. If I sneeze sometimes the wrong way, my back is like, ‘What the f–k?’”
She sees how much she’s aged in the past decade: “You can see the age. I shouldn’t complain because I’m 51 and I’m still healthy, and I’m very active. I still look in the mirror and I see someone beautiful. But sometimes it’s like, ‘Who are you?’ I’m still happy with what it is. I just learn to accept it’s not me. It’s a new me.”
She used her pretty privilege as much as she could: “I knew what I had and I was grateful for it. I don’t have this thing where I have to say that everything is because of my hard work. No, I had these huge t-ts that opened doors for me. I don’t feel bad for it. I took advantage. They keep coming more beautiful and more young than me, but I’ve been working already for 30-something years.”
“No, I had these huge t-ts that opened doors for me” – lmao. I mean, she’s right in the sense that she’s a beautiful woman with huge bazongas. She worked as a model for years and certain doors were open to her because of her looks and her body. But I hope she also knows that tons of doors were closed for her in America because she’s a Colombian woman with a thick accent too. Her hard work is what made the difference, not her bazongas. As for what she says about Botox and lasers and stuff… I really agree with her about fillers. While I’ve seen fillers slightly improve someone’s appearance in still photos, as soon as they try to talk or move their face in any way, it just looks horrible.

I really like her. And I still hope her scumbag ex, Nick or whatever rots for what he put her through.
Amen to that! Glad that worm crawled back under his rock!
She is a *beautiful*, talented woman. But c’mon, there’s no way she doesn’t have filler in her upper lip area; it’s pretty apparent in the pic with her head tilted back. Whatever. It’s very apparent she takes good care of herself.
We were watching some old Modern Family episodes last night, and we all agreed that she was sorely under-appreciated for her comedic talent/timing. She was great on that show!
I believe she doesn’t do fillers. I’m coming from a family with big lips and sure most of people lost their fullness in their lips with ages, not everyone. My 65 year old dad and even.my 90 years old Grandma has beautiful full lips. She might be just somebody with that luck.
Finally some truth…”Oh I just drink a lot of water”…”Oh I just do lots of yoga”…”Oh I stay out of the sun”…”Oh I eat a vegetarian/vegan diet”…”Oh I don’t smoke”. Look at what all those “No I don’ts” did to Gwyneth Paltrow. She looks like a dried up apricot despite all her ridiculously high-priced miracle creams and serums. Look at the filler faces on Madonna or Nicole Kidman or the legions of rich women with “LA Face”. They look ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on buccal fat removal.
“I feel filler does good when you’re really young and you want a little bit more cheeks or to plump your lips a little bit. At my age—51—I feel it’s not going to make you look younger. It is going to make you look more done. And I feel like it actually doesn’t pull you up; it kind of weighs [you down].”
That’s what it is! It makes the face look droopy. Look at Build a Face Carrie Underwood and you see it under her eyes and her awful lips.
We do have to be vigilant about SPF, especially now as we get older. Our skin is getting thinner and I feel the burn more than ever.
Like Sofia, 51 and am premenopausal. I still get my period every month right on time. I had one hot flash over a year ago and none since then. Aging is a blessing, so I’m grateful for that but the discussion around menopause has been spoken in hushed tones. I’m glad that so many more women are speaking up about this phase in our lives.
So refreshing to hear these things admitted! I think a lot of female celebs get botox in their neck. I’m nearly 54 and I have good face genes, with hardly any wrinkles on my forehead or around my eyes; but dang, I really see the wrinkles coming on my neck.
Refreshing honesty, and I totally agree with her. Wish more celebrities and influencers could be this frank.
