Miley Cyrus, who recently said that it’s her “job to be a role model,” has proven yet again that she’s a piss poor one. Cyrus’ 19 year-old boyfriend and co-star, Liam Hemsworth, is living with Miley after she told her parents she’d move out if they didn’t allow it. This is the second of Miley’s boyfriends to move in with her and her family. Miley’s then 20-year-old boyfriend, Justin Gaston, was staying with the Cyrus family in 2008. Billy Ray and Laticia weren’t entirely permissive of their then 16 year-old daughter’s relationship with an older guy – she had to keep the door to her bedroom open at all times. I’m sure that worked!
Now that Miley is 17 and living with her next boyfriend her parents have told her that they can’t share the same bedroom. Sounds like they really put their foot down.
The 17-year-old Hannah Montana star recently moved hunky Australian actor Liam Hemsworth into her family’s Toluca Lake, Calif., home – after informing her parent’s she’d move out if she didn’t get her way!
“In the end, Billy Ray and Miley’s mom, Tish, decided they’d rather have Miley under their roof with Liam than not knowing where she is at night,” a family friend told The Enquirer.
But they did insist on separate bedrooms!

Miley is 17 years old. How can she threaten to move out if she’s not legally able to? I remember how well the “keep the bedroom door open” request worked when I was 17. It doesn’t take long to get up to something if you’re motivated. I guess we can’t expect much more from Miley’s family. They let their 10 year-old daughter dress like a tart and get videotaped doing sexy dances. Miley is just getting away with what she can.
Billy Ray has said that he’s Miley’s friend first, then her dad. Most dads would be more protective of their daughter. If Miley ends up like Jamie Lynn Spears will her dad still consider her his buddy first, or will he rethink his “teenagers will be teenagers” parenting strategy?

Miley has her own wing in the Cyrus mansion. I have to go along with Katalina, why would the boyfriend want to move in? But, it’s a private thing, that’s the arrangement the Cyrus’s agreed upon.

I think it is pretty normal for a girl of 17 to have a boyfriend, and for a girl with as much success as she has, she seems fine to me. There’s always youthful folly, I think the public expects wisdom from her that she simply can not possess at such a young age. She’s trying to be reasonably humble yet assert her personality and opinions when asked. I just don’t find her to be objectionable, she’s working things out as best she can after having incredible success at a very young age. Her dad understands show business and is close to her. She may turn out OK. Now Noah is another story, she worries me.

Yeah – I was browsing the blind items a few days ago and found the one you’re talking about. The girl mentioned is having sex and drinking alcohol a ton – and bragging about it. It also mentioned something about the girl being forced to sit down and have a talk with her “strict handlers” – that could easily be the Mouse House.

@kermit, I don’t think anyone objects to a 17 year old girl having a boyfriend. It’s the fact that he’s moving in with her that’s troublesome, and even more so that this is the second boyfriend to have done so.
Next Jamie Lynn Spears!? I don’t think she would be able to compose herself like JLS is doing. Jamie vanished from the spotlight long time ago. She’s being accountant for her actions.

On the surface this arrangement does not sound very kosher; however, there may be a “method to the Cyrus’ madness”.
Miley is not an ordinary teenager and it just may be a well conceived strategy to let her see how living with her beaus on a daily basis would be like. Second, it would send a message to any prospective “gold diggers” that her parents aren’t push overs. These guys are under a constant microscope and “catting around with other girls” would be nearly impossible, if they were so inclined to do so. The last guy could not cut it and this one just may follow suit. Only time will tell.

Hey if you’re wondering how a 17 year old can move out of her parents house, let me tell you a story.
I moved out of my mother’s unit in the courts when I was 16. Got my own apartment, legally signed the lease contract and haven’t lived with her since. She also had absolutely no authority over me whatsoever. You know how? I was an Emancipated minor! You can do it you know. At 14 I knew I couldn’t stand my mother and hated the person she was. Sounds harsh, I know. Whatever. I worked two jobs and saved $1500 and took her to family court and sued her for custody of myself, and the judge granted it. It also helped my case that my mother was abusive and bat-shit crazy. I did not need to be rich or powerful, I just proved my case for needing to get away from her. And Presto! I was legally done and gone. I’m sure Miley can do the same thing if she dosent get her way with her parents too.
So many kinds of wrong going on with the Cyrus family.

Why are you writing this story as though it is proven fact? They also alleged that she was moving out when she was 16 and it upset her little sister so much she had to release a statement denying the truth of the story.

I moved out when I was 17 although I loved my parents, but I wanted to finish school somewhere else, so I lived alone there and had sex with my boyfriend and certainly didn´t get pregnant.
Why is that such a big deal for you all?
The Cyrus-clan might be crazy for other things, but letting her boyfriend stay with them isn´t crazy.
Then let her move out. She doesn’t need to be under her parents roof with her boyfriend when she has younger siblings to consider.

When parents start to let their children be the bread winner (as stated up thread) this is exactly what happens. Be a parent FIRST. There’s way too much of that “I’m a cool parent because I’m my kids’ friend first” nonsense.

What bugs me the most is the fact Miley’s boyfriend AGREED to do it that way. Of course Miley acting like a brat doesn’t surprise me anymore, that’s what happens when parents let the teenagers rule the house. She’s gonna freak out younger than LiLo did.
I’m not putting my nose into what the Cyrus’s do with Miley and her boyfriend. It’s not up to me. Teenagers are biologically sexual beings, that’s nature. The age of consent in most of the world is an average of 16 and at Vatican City, for some reason, 12. I think 12 is too young but biology gives teenagers certain psychological/physical cravings that human beings have. Human beings share basic impulses, it’s cultures that interpret appropriateness differently. Thus cultural development and religious tenets come into play and if there are choices, it’s up to individual families. So, it’s all opinions and judgments expressed. I don’t condone nor oppose the Cyrus family’s choice here with Miley living with her boyfriend at their house (assuming this story is accurate).
What is the point of having kids if they tell you what they’re going to do. She is a bad influnce and she disgusts me. My little cousin is banned from anything Miley because of the things she does. Of course teens have sex, but having them living in the house and disrespecting your parents is a no no. I’d let her leave and ruin her life and wouldn’t have anything to do with her if I were her parents. That’s why I do want kids.
