Noah Wyle & his wife Tracy split after 11 years

"ER" Finale Party

I was never an ER watcher, but I always liked Noah Wyle, and admired him for the low-key way he lead his life as a television star and occasional film actor. So it’s just sad to hear that Noah and his wife Tracy have split up, and are already in “a mediation process” which I think is a fancy way of saying “divorce”. Noah and Tracy had been together 10 years, having met on the set of The Myth of Fingerprints, when Tracy did his makeup. They have a son, Owen, age 7, and daughter Auden, age 4. I love the name “Auden” by the way. That’s so pretty.

Noah Wyle and his wife, Tracy, have separated after 11 years of marriage, the actor’s rep tells PEOPLE.

“Tracy Wyle and Noah Wyle, who separated in late October 2009, have confirmed they have entered into a mediation process,” rep Eddie Michaels announced in a statement on the couple’s behalf. “Neither has legally filed for divorce. Tracy and Noah live in separate residences; however their two children (Owen, 7, and Auden, 4) see both parents daily.”

Wyle, best known as John Carter from NBC’s hit ER, married makeup artist Tracy Warbin in 1998 after the couple met on the set of Myth of Fingerprints.

Says a friend of the couple: “They’re cooperative with each other and have put the interests of their children ahead of anything else.”

Wyle recently wrapped a TNT pilot for a sci-fi show, co-produced by Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television.

Just to see if there was anything juicy about this split (another woman, another man, some kind of farm animal), I did the necessary googling, but the Wyles seem clean as a whistle. And you know someone is squeaky-clean if the Internet is quiet about it! So, what broke them up? I have no idea, truly. Am I a bad person for feeling slightly turned on that Noah is back on the market? He’s so cute! I love how he’s rocking all of this facial hair too – he has such a baby face, anything to help him look older.

I have always thought he was kinda hot.

  2. Dorothy says:

He looks a little like Tom Green in the bottom picture!

  3. Raven says:

This may be like the split between Jane Kazmarek and Bradley Whitford–amicable but unexpected.

Kaiser, if you like this guy, he made a whole series of “Librarian” TV films for TNT.

  4. jen says:

YES!!! Oh, wait. I’m remarried. Crap.

  5. Rae says:

Kaiser, I’ve been waiting patiently for 10 years for him to be available again, so if you’re a bad person, I’m a horrible person.

  6. crash2GO2 says:

Wow, he is one of those few men who looks good with facial hair IMO. I’m sorry to hear about his marriage though.

  7. princess pea says:

Boo. I always have high hopes for actor/regular person marriages. Especially when they live a fairly normal life and don’t court publicity.

Are there any marriages that don’t end in divorce anymore?

  8. joe says:

    He is absolutely handsome.

  9. Sumodo says:

Another respectable marriage in Ho-wood bites the dust. They’re just people, after all, and marriages/lengthy partnerships dissolve at just greater than 50%.

  10. lucy2 says:

Aw, sad, especially with 2 little kids. Hopefully it is as amicable as it sounds, good for them for putting the kids first.

I’ve always thought he was cute enough and seemed nice, but he doesn’t really do it for me.

  11. Larissa says:

    he is totally hawt!

  12. Cinderella says:

    Uh-oh. Didn’t see that coming.

  13. Stephie says:

Aw, another one bites the dust. That sucks. Always root for the ones who defy the odds.

  14. Goddess711 says:

YAY!!!!!! I mean “that’s too bad.”
Seriously – the guy is a little on the artsy/eccentric serious side, I wouldn’t have guessed this one ever. I thought they’d be the forever kind. That’s unfortunate for her. Love that he’s back on the market though!

  15. l says:

i’ve always thought these two look like siblings

  16. lea says:

I always thought he was hot and that she was fug and old looking

  17. LolaBella says:

I’ve liked him since his days as Dr. Carter on ER and yes, he’s still hot.

His Librarian movies are great fun!

  18. Mairead says:

Aww sad – I didn’t like ER either, but he’s a decent actor and I appreciate the fact that his life is low-key.

As an aside, are they going with an early-20th Century poets theme with the children’s names – Wilfred Owen and WH Auden?

  19. Lauren says:

I always thought they looked like brother & sister. Very similar bone structure and noses. Sorry to hear about the divorce, 10 years is forever in Hollywood.

  20. Michelle says:

I feel like I’m being mean, but she looks like a woman who may have been beautiful 10 years ago, and is now just ordinary while he is still handsome. Plus, she is looking much older than he does. I’m feeling like that has something to do with the split.

  21. Essie says:

I didn’t see this coming either. There’s always pictures of him and one or both of the kids over on that celebrity baby blog site. Both kids are adorable and always look happy. Too bad their parents are breaking up.

BTW, “mediation process” means they are negotiating dividing their assets via mediation rather than going to court with a passel of lawyers. There will be one mediator deciding who gets what and his/her word will be final. This is much better than going to court and airing dirty laundry (if any).

  22. GatsbyGal says:

If Tom Green had mansex with Adrian Brody…

  23. jsan says:

Wow she has aged suddenly and I wonder what will happen to all their animals?

  24. jzhz says:

Don’t know what is so “baby-faced” about them crow’s feet…

  25. Neko says:

I remember that when they first got married, Noah mentioned to a reporter that he always squeezed the toothpaste from the bottom of the tube and rolled it up as he went. He said something to the effect that his wife “wasn`t brought up that way” and she squeezed it in the middle. The reporter asked how they handled that problem and Noah said they bought two tubes of toothpaste

If you`re not careful, little things like that can build up into major problems.

  26. Kittypants says:

Wow, she really looks like his female counterpart. Yikes.

  27. kim says:

I can’t believe the tabloids and their insiders and sources didn’t know that they separated in Oct or that Susan and Tim split up in the summer but they know everything that goes on in some celebs bedrooms like Tom and Katie or Brad and Angie. Thats remarkable

  28. NYC says:

awww this is a sad one. I remember when he gave interviews about first meeting her. He was head over heels in love with her. But I agree with the others she did not age well at all. They didn’t even have a hollywood lifestyle. They lived on a ranch.

Maybe it is just like so many other couples. You grow up and you grow apart. Diffrent people wanting diffrent things.

God I still have my 1994 crush on him.

  29. Lardy Chops says:

Still got my crush on him too. Not only is he hot, he has a real charm too.

And agree, Kaiser, Auden is a lovely name for a girl.

  30. mojoman says:

Am I the only one who is thinking they both have similar facial features? they look like siblings, kind of freaky..

  31. me says:

Well isnt it said the we’re attracted to ourselves. To mates who favor our looks.

  32. Question? says:

How is Auden pronounced? Is it Odd-Den, Or Oh-den?

  33. Ally says:

On a random note, “The Myth of Fingerprints” was a good movie. Though it upset me right at the end by having the Roy Scheider character turn out to be a sleaze. I love Roy Scheider!

  34. lolo says:

🙁 AW NOOO! He is very cute though.. Ahem.

  35. eternalcanadian says:

aw, that’s too bad, yet another long-time relationship going kaput. thought he was one of the “good guys” meaning in a marriage for the long haul.
