Oprah still does her “favorite things” list, which often works as a Christmas gift guide. Items featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things list often sell out or put smaller companies on the map. Any kind of endorsement from Oprah is money in the bank. The Duchess of Sussex knew what she was doing when she sent a batch of Clevr Blends oat latte bags to Oprah, and Oprah highlighted the gift on her Instagram. Well, apparently Meghan regularly sends little gifts to Oprah, and Oprah featured another one of those gifts on her Favorite Things list this year.
Meghan Markle made the cut for Oprah Winfrey’s annual “Favorite Things” list! The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is both friends with and a neighbor of Winfrey, 70, in Montecito, California. Winfrey’s annual gift guide — which has been in existence since the days of her former talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show — released its 2024 list on Nov. 1, and on it was a body care set gifted to her by Meghan, specifically Tatcha’s Hinoki line.
“This is a favorite Favorite Thing — with the scent of a forest sent to me by my neighbor Meghan,” Oprah said.
“If you were to come to my house, you’d see this body wash, body oil and body milk right by the tub,” she continued. The set includes those three elements, all scented with Tatcha’s Forest Awakening Essential Oil blend.
In the product description, Tatcha said the blend of cedar, hiba and hinoki oils helps “reduce stress, lift mood and improve wellbeing.” And Tatcha has another friendly connection for Meghan — her longtime friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin, has worked with the brand as its Global Director of Artistry since 2020.
I had no idea that Daniel Martin had a “global director” position at a beauty/skincare brand. That’s the connection for Meghan – she’s supporting her friend Daniel, and Oprah is supporting Meghan. It’s very cool and Tatcha is probably beyond pleased with the exposure and the free media. Now I kind of wonder if Meghan has sent other stuff to Oprah with the hope of an eventual Oprah endorsement. I wonder if Oprah has been gifted a Cesta Collective bag or two?

And Vicky Tsai owns it. Meghan is so very supportive of all of her friends endeavors, and hooks them up with each other in a way that benefits them all. It’s easy to see why they are ride or die for her.

I get the impression Meghan is the kind of person who wants to share with friends when she finds something she loves. I can see her doing this even well before she was friends with Oprah – hey I found this great lotion, let me send you some and see if you like it. I feel like she’s the opposite of a gatekeeper when it comes to things she loves.
And I think that just plays out on a different level at this point – she gets to share what she loves with friends like Oprah and it supports other people as well on a much larger scale than before.
I would love for Meghan to put out a favorite things list or something similar lol.
It is probably why she started the Tig. Some people have taste and enjoy sharing with other people. As someone with limited taste, I appreciate them 😭😭
