Anya Taylor Joy stunned in pink Dior, with Tiffany & Co jewels, at the 2025 Globes

People legitimately gasped when Anya Taylor Joy turned up on the Golden Globes red carpet. She just looked so other-worldly, and she also looked like a throwback to Old Hollywood. Dior made Anya a slinky, pale pink bias-cut slipdress. The real stars of the look were the Tiffany & Co necklace and the matching wrap. Bring back wraps on the red carpet! Bring back pashminas! Anya reps Dior and Tiffany & Co, and you can really see why those brands love her.

Speaking of pretty princesses, Anna Sawai also got to wear a special Dior look. Dior kept it simple for Anna with this white two-piece gown. With that immaculate face, designers don’t have to do too much, you know? They can keep everything so basic to let her shine. The choker was an interesting choice, but I like it. She was so happy with her win for Shogun.

Monica Barbaro’s dress was honestly my favorite Dior of the Globes. Again, I like the simplicity of Dior’s designs for the younger ladies, they’re not doing too much or putting younger women in fussy, overdone ballgowns. Monica is getting a lot of well-deserved attention for her turn as Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown.

I did not love Anya’s look. The dress made her torso look so long and it was too plain with her styling. Her make-up is also making it look like she was clenching her jaw all night. She’s a beautiful woman but the overall look was off and dull to me.

    • Lisa says:

Her mouth always looks weird. Didn’t she have that buccal fat removal?

      • Amy says:

Yeah, she really did herself dirty with so much surgery so young. The buccal fat removal aged her about 15 years and made her mouth look like a marionette version of the Joker.

      • Startup Spouse says:

I don’t understand her appeal. She’s nothing special IMO.

      • Normades says:

The slightly open mouth pose she does in every picture is really unattractive imo. She looks very severe and rodent like now with the buccal fat removal (sorry that was mean, same can be said of Julia Gardner, why are they doing this to themselves????).

Anna Sawai is so beautiful and I’m glad Monica is getting attention. I usually don’t like beige but her dress is great.

      • StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

Buccal removal for sure, but I think she finds her mouth too small and the joker clown is probably because they drew the top lip longer than it really is. It’s theater show makeup.

    • Polly says:

Also not a fan. Her hair is too light and so is the color of the dress. She’s really leaning into this look lately though so happy for her I guess!

  2. Jas says:

I like Monica Barbaro’s dress, but it needs a hoick as the fug girls would say. It’s sitting perilously low.

  3. NotMika says:

    All I see is Gwyneth.

    • UpIn Toronto says:

It is giving Gwyneth! Which is hilarious bc Fernanda Torres won her award, making whole her mother Fernanda Montenegro, who lost to the pink dressed Gwyneth at the Oscars. This award wasn’t bought by Harvey Weinstein!

    • Weaving Cat says:

that was my first thought too!

  4. Jais says:

I love Monica’s dress. Love it. I don’t love Anya’s though. It’s okay but the color on her is meh. But maybe that was the point, that she blends in with the dress idk? The necklace is stunning though

  5. sparrow says:

I really like Anya’s dress but her makeup is horrible: too pale, to go with the dress of course, and the contouring is too low and close to her mouth, which gives her a pinched pout look.

  6. wendy says:

The wrap is the only thing I love about the look – the color washes her out too much and her jaw looks wired shut, I don’t know if it’s the make up or as someone above mentioned buccal fat removal, but the overall effect is very pinched.

Anna and Monica look fresh and beautiful without being overwrought.

  7. Amy says:

I don’t love Anya’s look here either. It’s giving me vibes of when Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts always used to wear those blush colored gowns that almost matched their skin tone and completely washed them out. The bleached blonde hair isn’t doing her any favors, either.

  8. Lucía says:

All three of these women look (and are) absolutely stunning. My favorite was Anna, with whom I wasn’t familiar. All I could think of while watching was “who’s that flawless looking girl?”

  9. Gwen says:

What is going on with Anna’s mouth? Are her teeth sticking out? Very odd looking.

    The dresses are beautiful.

  10. florencia says:

Not a fan of Anya, that much pink on a grown woman is off putting (I also find G’s famous pink dress wildly overpraised) and that cut is doing really unfortunate things to her chest. Love Anna’s choker, can’t really tell much of her dress from these two photos, and Monica’s dress is beautiful, I love neutral, flowy dresses like that.

  11. Mcgee says:

I don’t know that otherworldly is always a good thing – it can and has here slid into uncanny valley, and I can’t put my finger on why except that it appears her face is sunken or slowly collapsing.

That said, she’s generally a visually intriguing and attractive woman, a very talented artist (which I am, on both points, not).
