In 2022, Chris Pratt got a lot of well-deserved criticism for lavishing praise on his second wife for providing him with a “healthy daughter.” Those were his words, and people instantly picked up on the loaded meaning behind it. Chris has a son, Jack, with his first wife Anna Faris. Jack has special needs, and Jack had a lot of medical issues when he was just a baby. Then in 2023, Pratt once again went on Instagram and praised his second wife Katherine Schwarzenegger for Mother’s Day. Pratt did not publicly acknowledge his first wife or his son Jack at all. In 2024, Chris tried something new for Mother’s Day: celebrating “all the mamas out there” and praising Katherine for being a “stepmom to Jack.” No mention of Anna Faris, yet again.
Well, his Mother’s Day message this year has solidified everything: he will never wish his first wife a Happy Mother’s Day. Pratt posted photos of Katherine yet again, with this message: “How do moms do it? Seriously. It’s like running a circus, a hospital, and a five-star kitchen all at once. Our kids hit the jackpot with you, and so did I. We love you. Happy Mother’s Day, Chief!” I’ve seen people suggest, over the years, that Anna doesn’t want to hear from him and maybe that’s the reason why he doesn’t acknowledge her. But I’m pretty sure that whatever drama Anna and Chris have with each other, they still coparent their son and are both involved with Jack. Like… I understand not putting all of your family business on Instagram, but a simple tribute to BOTH of your baby-mamas isn’t some tea-spilling event. As the years go by, he knows exactly what he’s doing and how it looks too. It’s awful.

My partner doesn’t wish his ex-wife a happy mother’s day or happy any holiday to her on social media. They’re not on good terms & she definitely doesn’t want him to do that.
She doesn’t wish him happy father’s day or anything either. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t need that kind of attention from her.
Neither of them are bad people. My partner is my favorite man in the entire world. His ex-wife is a cool person and I get along well with her & I love my step kids.

This right here. I don’t see anything weird about not wishing your ex a happy Mother’s Day on social media. They’re broken up but seem to be on fairly good terms as coparents. No one I know in ‘real life’ mentions their ex on social media when it comes to holidays, even those who have fantastic coparenting relationships. The whole ‘best Chris/worst Chris’ thing is toxic.

This is such a weird take. I honestly don’t know a single person that wishes their ex a happy Mother’s Day on social media. She isn’t his mother or his wife. Jack can wish her a HMD. Chris can focus on his mom and wife.

Agree. You can move on from the relationship without moving on from the child. My partner and his ex are wonderful parents and both love their daughter to bits. They are not friends.
Anna said Chris is a great father and a supportive friend to her. Some people don’t even think to consider that she doesn’t want a public post from her ex, no matter how well they get along. They’re happily co parenting. There are bad things happening in this world, we don’t need fake outrage

Did Anna make a post on Father’s Day? I don’t remember if she did. That might be one of the things they agreed on during their divorce: no public talk about each other. It might be Anna who doesn’t wish to be part of Chris’s social media posts, we don’t know. I am saying this while I also thought his post about having a healthy baby was so tone-deaf.
I am hoping this is Anna’s choice. I do not have a high opinion of Chris Pratt, but I’m going to hope things are good for the sake of their shared child, and this is just him not being performative on social media because she neither wants or needs it.

Chris Pratt lives up to his surname fully. He is a Pratt and I can’t help notice that Anna is a working mother. Anna still acts and acting takes you everywhere working long hours. Katherine is pretty much an influencer who is a SAHM. Not shading Katherine or SAHM but I think Chris is basically applauding Katherine for her role in the family (SAHM supporting the husband while raising the kids) which comes across very pointed and intentional. Almost as though he wants to berate his ex b/c she was a working mother
