Charlie Sheen is back in rehab, shocking!

61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Charlie Sheen has shocked the world by entering rehab for the millionth time! I’m clutching my pearls right now, having just dropped my monocle when I gasped and nearly fainted. Yeah, so Charlie is drinking again, and has been for a while. He was even drinking on Christmas day, when he allegedly attacked his wife Brooke Mueller, who was also drinking – as it turned out, she was drunk while Charlie was merely lightly buzzed. Brooke has been in and out of rehab facilities from California to North Carolina for more than a month, and the current tally of Brooke’s substance abuse problems is unknown, but seems to keep coming back to alcohol and crack. Charlie’s current substance abuse problems seem to just be his alcoholism, and it’s unknown if he’s back on cocaine or anything. Here’s more from People:

First his wife entered rehab, and now Charlie Sheen is in treatment, too.

“As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility,” his rep says in a statement. “He will take some time off his series Two and a Half Men.”

Sheen, 44, is also facing domestic violence charges stemming from a Christmas Day fight with wife Brooke Mueller, who herself went into rehab earlier this month, then switched centers amid complaints that her privacy was breached.

It was not immediately known who was caring for the couple’s twin boys.

The statement did not elaborate on the reason for Sheen’s treatment. The actor has reportedly gone to rehab programs at least twice before for drug and alcohol abuse, but a source says that this time the problem relates to the fallout from the domestic violence case.

“Charlie is stressed. He’s tired. The kids are on his mind. Brooke’s on his mind,” the source tells PEOPLE. “A lot of things are on his mind. He didn’t want to get a place where he had the urge to get high. He’s not using and he doesn’t want to. He felt like he needed to get away from negative influences around him and clear his head, rest and take a short break.”

[From People]

This comes just a week after Charlie’s rep got on his high horse and told media outlets that Charlie was not considering going into rehab, and that “no one was telling him to go.” Considering that Radar has been running article after article about Charlie’s continuing drinking problems, I think Radar gets some extra credit, and Charlie’s rep needs to shut the hell up. But you know what? I doubt this rehab visit is even about Charlie needing “help” for his “problems”. I think it’s more about the felony and misdemeanor charges he’s facing in Colorado, and how the completion of a rehab treatment will look to the prosecution.

  6. susanne says:

“As a preventative measure” my a$$! NO ONE goes to rehab for prevention. Especially considering the legal stuff and potential divorce/child custody battles, he wouldn’t go in unless he were well on the way (or already arrived at) hot mess-ness. DUH.
I can’t stand him. He looks like a sociopath. What movie was he in in the 80s where he played a really creepy guy? 16 candles? That’s REALLY him!
I’ve only seen about 10 minutes of 2.5 men, and it’s painful to watch. Pleeeeaaaase let this be the end of his career!

  7. LindyLou says:

Ugh, those two are a repulsive mess. I agree with bite me – their poor children. They don’t stand a chance with those two selfish idiots for parents.

  8. lucy2 says:

Please, he wouldn’t know a preventative measure if it slapped him in the face.

I think he wasn’t coming out of all this mess as squeaky clean as he and his PR team wanted, especially when the charges were announced, so now for public sympathy or whatever, it’s the old rehab game again. I don’t believe he has the will or mental capacity to recognize the need for it on his own.

  9. Rianna says:

i would drink too if i had a taste for women like him.

  10. Aitch says:

Oh those poor twins. good thing they can afford nannies. I hope social services takes a good long look at their fitness as parents!

  11. Susette says:

Whenever I hear this stuff about him, I get curious about his adult daughter. I doubt he had much of a hand in raising her, but I wonder if she has any kind of relationship with this jerk.

  12. gg says:

oh but he never needs rehab does he …?

    😕

  13. Icecat says:

He played the Drug Addict in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”… He was not in 16 Candles…

  14. Tia C says:

That’s exactly what it’s about, Kaiser. It’s a preventative measure for court.

  15. H says:

Boy,those kids got screwed in the parent lottery. Say what you will about Denise but she seems really devoted to her kids.

  16. california angel says:

So what you’re saying is that addicts are screwed one way or another? That they are either an addict or they are going to rehab with some agenda? Any person familiar with the rigors of detox/sobriety will tell you that the reasons for rehabilitation are moot points, as long as the person is serious about recovery and in the process of trying to recover, it shouldn’t matter why they are there. It’s not like you just stroll in the door and they say, “What, you’re just here to get on someone’s good side? Get out of here. “…

  17. Magsy says:

His eyes look so crazed, something’s not right with him.

  18. Joe says:

I’m fine with the coke, booze and honestly who doesn’t fight with their wife every so often. I even doubt it was domestic abuse, although I may be completely off base here but I think the whole thing was just blown out of proportion, people have been lying to get revenge since words were invented. The only thing that bothers me is that he brings kids into this curve ball life style of his. Why have kids if you know you’re not planning on being a responsible adult any time soon? but I guess if we had the answer to that question the Maury show would’ve ran out of guests a long time ago? Btw his wife is gorgeous, I’m pretty sure most guys just do coke to shpididdle models, it almost seems worth it.
