In recent weeks, Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise have hard-launched their relationship. For months, we thought they were just friends, or this was some kind of professional mentorship. But Ana is all-in. She’s even “liking” shady Instagrams about Nicole Kidman (Tom’s ex-wife) and Ana brought Tom to her Vermont estate. As it turns out, the Vermont vacation was just some rest-and-relaxation before Tom and Ana began filming together on Deeper, which is being directed by Doug Liman.

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are back to work after their New England getaway. A source tells PEOPLE that the pair “had a great break together in Vermont” recently, where de Armas, 37, owns a home and “enjoyed being the host.”

“She loves spending time with Tom,” the insider says, adding of their upcoming movie Deeper, “Now, they are still very focused on kicking off their new project together. It’s a very important project for both of them. They’ll have an intense shooting schedule, but they are ready.”

Per the source, the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina actress “is both excited and nervous” about working with Cruise, 63, on Deeper, a supernatural ocean thriller directed by Doug Liman.

“It’s her first time working with Tom and she wants to bring her best,” the insider explains of de Armas. “She knows Tom has high standards on set, but she’s ready for the challenge.”

After photos of the Top Gun: Maverick actor and Blonde star holding hands while out and about on a weekend getaway in the Green Mountain State surfaced last week, a separate source said the two have “become incredibly close.”

“Ana loves Vermont. It’s her place to rest and recharge,” the insider told PEOPLE. “She was excited to host Tom and show him around. She took him to all her favorite spots.”

Just my opinion, but I think Ana doesn’t mix business with pleasure very well, which is a shame because she loves to do it (see also: Ben Affleck). I also think she’s pursued Tom at every level – professionally, personally, romantically. She wants this – Tom was happy enough with his romantic life in incognito mode for the past seven or eight years. He lives in England, and the British tabloids have only gotten a few whiffs of gossip about Tom’s romantic life for years. Then Ana starts aggressively pursuing him and suddenly there are People Mag stories and paparazzi photoshoots? It’s fascinating to watch.
