Cristin Milioti finally won an Emmy last night for ‘The Penguin’

One of the highlights of the Emmys was Cristin Milioti’s win for outstanding lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie for The Penguin. I was surprised at how genuinely effusive she was during her acceptance speech just because I associate her with her stoic character Sofia Falcone in The Penguin. The whole room was also elated for her, and she’s been getting awards buzz for that role for ages. It’s kind of unknown whether there will be a second season of The Penguin, although the showrunner seems open to it.

Cristin was so pretty in a scarlet Danielle Frankel gown with a structured top. I love this trend of straight severe necklines, it looks so cool. I really like the delicately gathered asymmetric bodice and the slight train. These are subtle, thoughtful details.

Meghann Fahy was also nominated in this category, for Sirens. She was lovely in a black velvet Valentino with shoulder pads and a deep bustline. This is drama and she looks gorgeous. She’s giving vintage Michelle Pfeiffer.

Rashida Jones was also nominated in this category, for Black Mirror. That’s such a good series but every episode I’ve seen apart from San Junipero has traumatized me somewhat and I love horror. It just hits too close to home. Rashida was in custom Dior styled by Brad Goreski. This dress looks better in motion.

Meghann Fahy was my fave last night. She looks unbelievable. I loved her character in White Lotus and I hope they bring her back.

I wish I had smaller chest privilege to pull off these plunging necklines. They look so good if done right, like here. When us larger chested women try to pull this off it’s deemed vulgar. When the leaner women do it – it’s high fashion. It’s the one trend along with spaghetti straps, I wish I could pull off. I’ve already ordered by A or B cups for my next life. No more back issues, because other than my chest, I’m pretty lean. I often end up in potato sacks cause that’s what fits up top.

I also have a rack and started taking my clothes in to be altered and it has been such a great change, as pieces that I really liked but didn’t wear now fit perfectly. If you buy something and think you’ll get it altered get it a little larger, if it’s too big it’s easy to alter, too small, probably out of luck.

Meghan is also fantastic in Sirens, playing an entirely different role than in White Lotus, where I first saw her. In Sirens, she is blue-collar, tattooed, constantly swearing. Love her.

I agree Isabella she was great in Sirens! She’s a fantastic actor and absolutely gorgeous. I follow her on IG and her feed is super interesting.

So happy Cristin Millioti won. She was fantastic as Sofia Falcone. I loved her speech & energy last night.

I really wish The Penguin would have taken home a couple more awards – specifically for writing and directing. It’s also such a shame that Colin Farrell didn’t win because his acting in the series is unreal, but Stephen Graham deserved the win just as much.
