Prince Andrew has always had a reputation for being awful to palace staffers and “underlings.” There are stories about Andrew demanding that his teddy bears be placed just so on his bed, there are stories about him berating maids and commoners, and stories about Andrew screaming abuse at staffers. There was recently a story about how much his royal protection officers loathed him too. One of Andrew’s former RPOs, Paul Page, told a podcast recently that Andrew ordered his security to never record Ghislaine Maxwell’s visits or the visits of all of the young women who came to see him. Page said that the RPOs gave Andrew a special nickname: “the c–t.” I bring up all of this because Buckingham Palace decided, in 2021, to launch a bullying investigation into… the Duchess of Sussex. Because she sent some 5 am emails and she planned her wedding (while existing as a Black woman), which caused white staffers to spend months sobbing in various Kensington Palace closets. In truth, we’ve never heard any specific accusations about Meghan “bullying” anyone. Which begs the question: why did the palace launch an investigation in the first place? The palace didn’t think that one through, which is why they buried the results of the investigation. The palace was actually worried about all of the sh-t that would come out about Andrew.
Buckingham Palace braced itself for a Prince Andrew bombshell after ‘concerning’ allegations were raised about Meghan Markle, it has been claimed.
Meghan was accused of bullying staff members at Kensington Palace during her short tenure as a working royal, but the Duchess vehemently denied the accusations that she had mistreated anyone working for her. Further claims that Meghan can be a somewhat difficult boss have plagued her since moving to California, with some staffers telling US outlets that they found her tricky to deal with. However, others came on the record defending Meghan to the hilt, saying that she went above and beyond as a boss to take care of her employees.
A palace investigation was reported to have taken place into the bullying allegations, but the results of it were never released – and a royal author has claimed that the decision to keep the results private was actually made to protect Prince Andrew. The explosive claim was made in a new biography by Andrew Lownie about the King’s disgraced brother and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The book, ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’, alleged that Andrew treated many royal staff badly over the years, and that “The report on Markle has never been released, some say because it would also raise questions about the behaviour of the Queen’s second son.”
Lownie wrote, “After Meghan Markle was accused of bullying staff, Buckingham Palace braced itself for historic complaints about the duke’s bullying, profanities, and impossible demands. A former aide had been reduced to tears after being ‘bawled at’ in a phone call before dawn because Andrew was unhappy with a story in the Sun newspaper. One member of staff was moved to other duties because Andrew ‘disliked a mole on the man’s face’, another ‘because the man was wearing a nylon tie’.”
A former equerry for the Queen Mother told Lownie that in his dealings with Andrew he was left with the impression that the King’s brother was a “rude, ignorant, sod”. On one occasion, it was claimed by the aide, Andrew called a staff member a “f***ing imbecile” for using the incorrect title for the Queen Mother. Andrew was not, in the aide’s opinion, “a particularly nice person.”
“He would talk to the staff, including me, as an officer talks to his subordinates. He would say things such as: ‘I want this done and I want it done now’ or ‘Have that done by such and such a time.’ I remember him always saying ‘Do it!’ which was his catchphrase of sorts,” the former equerry was quoted as saying.
If the palace wanted to bury stories about Andrew’s appalling behavior, certainly the way to go would be to NOT launch a ham-fisted, half-assed investigation into Meghan in the first place? That raised questions of why no one had ever investigated Andrew’s behavior towards staff, and why he was allowed to get away with it for decades. All while no one, to this day, has a story about Meghan actually doing anything which would constitute bullying or inappropriate behavior. There are no stories about Meghan calling anyone a “f–king imbecile” or bitching someone out because of their tie. All of their stories about Meghan are along the lines of “she picked out her wedding flowers” and “she made me cry but I can’t explain how!”

Charles bullied staff and was filmed having a tantrum about pens.
Yeah, aren’t they all well-known bullies to staff? Like, abusively so?
Obviously the investigation into Meghan was because as a Black woman, she had no right to bully staff* the way that is apparently considered an inborn entitlement for blood royals.
Every day I am shocked (but not surprised) at how the UK government & media just continues to hide how horrible the BRF is, and continues to put out state propaganda concealing the reality that the country is headed up by abusive, dim-witted entitled folks for whom no one would ever vote if they were actually up for election.
*To clarify, I don’t think she “bullied” her staff, and obviously evidence (that hasn’t been doctored by Knauf) has never been produced. I just mean that this seems to be their way of thinking
absolutely my favourite part of Spare is when Harry relates Meghan’s reaction to meeting Andrew for the first time: she had no idea who he was. She noticed he was clasping the Queen’s handbag and asked Harry — after the Queen and Andrew had departed — who the Queen’s secretary was. She was genuinely stumped.
It always confused me when people say Meghan lied about now knowing who Andrew is. I didn’t follow BRF until Harry met Meghan. I only knew them from the headlines and of course, Diana! I didn’t know who Andrew, Edward or their wives were. After the Crown, people are a little more informed about the family, but before that, what most people outside of UK cared about was Diana’s boys.
Unless you followed the royals there was no reason to know anything about Andy until his criminal behavior was exposed.
Royalists have always overestimated how much the wider world pays attention to them. I loved Diana but stopped paying any attention to the BRF after the divorce. Only started again when Meghan started dating Harry. I live in a commonwealth country but they get almost zero coverage here.
Same. I didn’t know who Andrew was until I started reading this site, which was during the height of the smear campaign. And that was bc of the Epstein connection. It took me a while to even know or care who Ann and Edward were really.
I always knew the Queen had a sister. I thought Anne was the queens younger sister for years. 😂😂 she wears such an old fashioned hairstyle and clothes.
When you consider how many people don’t know that there is a fourth child – Edward – it makes sense that someone wouldn’t even recognize Andrew.
Off the top of my head I would say they didn’t release it because they were less concerned about what will come out about Meghan, and knew what was going to come out about Andrew, Kate, william, and probably Charles. They all have been reported as being jerks in some manner, some violently and some for decades.
Opposed to Meghan who seemed previously and now post her time on that island to charm the people she works with. But, because they have a sycophantic media which traffics in innuendo, they knew not releasing it would make it seem like Meghan was such a monster they couldn’t because they wanted to protect her ( massive eye roll).
Also they knew outside of the most loyal royalists if you had an outside investigation which showed that an employee’s ” bullying” ways were expecting people to be prepared for meetings, being upset if your team member didn’t complete a project by an assigned deadline, and correcting inappropriate behavior, you were going to get a huge, that’s it? From a majority of the working population. That didn’t and doesn’t work for what they want to imply about Meghan’s behavior, and what they absolutely don’t want confirmed about anyone else’s.
Other than QE2 and Harry, there are stories that have floated around for decades of ALL the other senior royals bullying behaviour so picking on Meghan seemed clueless in the extreme.
Even Anne has stories iirc.
Yes, all of them. Anne is notoriously rude and demanding. Anne makes people quiver. Edward and Sophie maybe get a pass, they’re just snobs/rude so maybe that’s not quite bullying. I doubt they treat their staff well, though.
The report was also buried to protect Jason Knauf, who raised the allegations against Meghan, probably at William’s behest. The only “evidence” that’s been shown against Meghan is an email from Jason expressing concern–and we know about Jason’s history with forging correspondence.* Nobody’s been willing to come forward, despite the palace making clear it’s OK to break their NDA, and one staffer said she was asked to come forward but refused. Nevertheless, Jason is still all over media (last summer on Aussie TV) still claiming Meghan’s a bully. Without consequences from an incriminating expose of his own (not Meghan’s) bullying. Meghan should sue him, but I digress.
*Jason melded two texts from Meghan to make it appear she supported releasing her letter to her father, and then he submitted it to a judge, who spotted the forgery immediately, and the only reason Jason wasn’t prosecuted for perjury was because the judge had never asked for Meghan’s texts in the first place. But no worries, William knighted Jason and gave him a sinecure at Earthshot.
And don’t forget. That one email that Jason sent about Meghan’s “bullying” was to Simon Case. Case is known for lying about Partygate during his time with Boris Johnson. These are not honest people and have been proven to be liars through the courts. They strait-up lied about the bullying and created the whole narrative to cover-up what they had done to Meghan. Which we still don’t even know the whole of, I’m sure.
Simon Case who now has a life peerage in the House of Lords.
I saw that! But how???
Peggy protecting his side piece.. I believe that he (Peggy) definitely squashed the release of the bullying investigation because it made Jason look bad.
I think it was to protect Jason but also William and Kate. My guess is those two are pretty awful behind closed doors and I think some staffers were willing to talk about it.
Seeing as how the alleged bullying was only mentioned after the first promo for the Oprah interview, it’s pretty obvious this was Knauf working for William.
They would be destroyed if the actual employment and HR laws in the UK applied to KP.
I agree, Meghan should sue Knauf.
I’m betting that Kate is no picnic, either.
Definitely, we have all seen some of her looks when she is in a rage 😡 she is not a nice person to those she feels are beneath her or can’t benefit her. That much has been pretty clear even when she was in her Waity years before marriage.
The photo of Duchess Meghan sitting next to a a guest of the Lolita Express is creepy. She didn’t know in that moment what he was, but I’m sure she still sensed he was the worst kind of human. She made a good faith effort to be part of Harry’s family. But she probably needs ten showers just from seeing that photo now to wash the ick off her.
Meghan was accused of bullying because of her skin colour.
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/jun/02/buckingham-palace-banned-ethnic-minorities-from-office-roles-papers-reveal
The staff objected to taking orders from someone who shouldn’t have been raised so high.
Only one of two reasons that the report wasn’t leaked: nothing made Meghan looked bad or it made the courtiers/staff look bad. Even the stories that are supposed to make Meghan look bad had staff calling her names or ignoring her directives.
They buried it because what they found was untrue! It had nothing to do with the pedo. Now they probably should never put it out there that they were investigating her for bullying when those who wanted it investigated were the biggest bullies ever. They never do look at the big picture.
Not only Andrew but Anne and Charles. They have all been accused of bullying staff but the Palace never saw the need to launch an investigation. I think the report was never released because Meghan wasn’t the one doing the bullying.
I firmly believe that if there was even the slightest hint of any impropriety on Meghan’s behalf, there would have been no hesitation in blasting the report from every available rooftop. They wouldn’t have given to shits about protecting Andrew, as long as they got to tear Meghan down. More than likely all evidence cleared Meghan but would shine a light on various other members of the clan. Hence no report.
Remember the retold story of Charles, the cufflink, the sink, and Charles choking staff by the neck.
They will never be able to convince me that William of The Incandescent Rage isn’t horrible to his staff. While the Queen was worried about what might have come out about Andrew, I think the real terror is William. Andrew’s a buffoon but William has anger management and rage issues.
All of the royal men have anger management and rage issues…Well, most of them anyways…the ones that have always gotten away with treating others poorly because they were raised so high (Charles, Andrew, William, probably Phillip)…we know Edward is clueless and rude, but we haven’t heard of him assaulting anyone, and that’s probably only because he knows he’s inferior to X many people in that family’s hierarchy.
Weren’t we recently told that William has a “healthy impatience, like his father” and is demanding to Duchy staff, and “flies off the handle” at anything and anyone he deems “patronizing” to Kate, and demands that his staff just get things done? Not much of a hop, skip and a jump – just a little spin and PR – to “Do it!” Huh? They really are all cut from the same cloth.
PS: oh, also that he is difficult, particular, and short tempered
There’s also the story about how Andrew rammed the gates at Windsor because they wouldn’t open because of a malfunction, causing damage that cost thousands of pounds.
Didn’t Harry and Meghan’s lawyer ask for a copy of the “report” but never received it?
So they buried it because they know it would not look good for William and the gang.
This article makes no sense to me. Why would an investigation of Meghan lead to anything about Andrew? I thought the inquiry was Kensington Palace related. Why would that even lead to Andrew? The reason it was buried had nothing to do with Andrew. This is just a way to put Meghan in this current news cycle and distract. That investigation went nowhere because the Sussexes lawyered up, there were no valid claims and they didn’t want any scrutiny on the principles at KP, who were the Cambridges/Wales. This Andrew angle seems a bit of a reach. They’ve had decades to investigate that guy and choose not to. This ain’t Meghan’s mess, much as they try to use them as scapegoats.
I assume that Meghan would request a copy of the report. Wonder if she ever got it.
I believe they saw something, because Meghan and Harry had a 25 page rebuttal prepared and ready to go. I assume they had lots of notice since Knauf was blatant in handpicking who was Meghan’s personal assistants and giving her inexperienced and unprofessional people.
The only specifics that ever came out was a tweet by Rebecca English where she said she saw one of the assistant sobbing in a car after Meghan’s trip to the market on the Australia tour. That particular visit was secretly a disaster. Meghan was left to fend for herself with little security and no crowd control, no hand picked members of the public, etc. while pregnant and in the heat. In Knauf’s crusade and the determination of BP to put Meghan and Harry in their place, with the blessing of William and Charles, they deliberately planned for much less interest and much less public attendance, because how could they be so popular when they aren’t the monarch and the direct heirs? I have no doubt there was an earful after that, and it was well deserved.
They didn’t release it because it would clear her, and as long as they don’t it will hang over her head. You can’t convince me that if they had solid proof and actual examples of her doing something bad they wouldn’t leak it to the press. We have only ever had weird vague examples and none of them are bullying. This article makes no sense and is just a way to tie Meghan into articles about andrew, as they do with Harry.
Yeah, that bullying investigation definitely would have revealed the ridiculousness of focusing on Meghan while the other royals are notoriously imperious and rude to staff.
I mean, their rude behavior has leaked into public view, what with Charles and the pen, and Edward putting a hand on the Black transit employee at Paddington Station and telling him to step back from QEII.
With narcissists, the accusations are confessions.
I can’t remember where I read it but I’m sure the ‘investigation’ was into palace HR procedures and how allegations of bullying more broadly were being handled, not specifically to decide if allegations against Meghan were true. Didn’t Meghan also say she was never consulted, never asked to respond to questioning, and never given the opportunity to see the report herself? If that’s all actually the case, I’m guessing no report was released, even in redacted form or as quotes to favoured press, because every quibble, complaint and murmur of bad behaviour about Meghan was not only heard, but reported and escalated to HR (rightly or wrongly, who knows?). Perhaps what they found was that staff making similar complaints of other members of the family were either ignored or covered up.
