In late 2023, newly divorced Sophie Turner started dating Peregrine Pearson, a titled toff. Pearson will one day become the Viscount Cowdray, and he seemed well-connected in elite British circles. Surprisingly, they seemed to get pretty serious about each other and they dated for the better part of two years. I actually thought they were still together, but apparently not. Apparently, Sophie is now dating Chris Martin!! Chris and Dakota Johnson ended their eight-year relationship at some point this year, and I’m still mad at him for wasting her time. Well, he’s about to waste the time of a much younger woman now. Man, he really has a physical type, doesn’t he?
She’s the glamorous Game Of Thrones actress who seemed poised to marry into the aristocracy – but now I can reveal that Sophie Turner has swapped her posh boyfriend the Hon. Peregrine ‘Perry’ Pearson for Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
I hear the singer, 48, who recently split from American actress Dakota Johnson, went on a ‘secret date’ with Sophie, 29, shortly after she and Perry called it quits after nearly two years together.
Despite several reports of splits and reconciliations between Pearson and Turner over the summer, insiders tell me that the couple officially broke up after a high-society wedding in late September. My spies say they were seen there bickering and arguing between feverish snogs on the dancefloor. Sophie did not mope around feeling glum about losing her Viscount-in-waiting for long as I hear she went on a date with Martin the very next week.
Martin, who famously ‘consciously uncoupled’ from his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, has been in London this summer with a string of Wembley dates as part of Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres tour. But while Sophie appears to have moved on with the Coldplay frontman, it seems Perry didn’t waste much time, either.
My sources say the heir to the Cowdray estate in West Sussex was seen at a trendy West London nightclub last week, hand-in-hand with a willowy, long-legged blonde who had an uncanny – and rather amusing – resemblance to Sophie. A representative for Sophie Turner declined to comment.
This is just a funny line: “My spies say they were seen there bickering and arguing between feverish snogs on the dancefloor.” “Feverish snogs” is an especially delightful phrase. It really paints a picture of Sophie and Peregrine’s mercurial relationship too, and it had to have ended badly for both of them to split and then immediately run off with other people. As for Chris… my dude, you are 48 years old. Why in the world are you a 28-year-old divorced mom’s rebound after she broke up with a toff?? My lord, Chris is such a cliche.

Exactly. She’s a grown woman who went right from a long term relationship/marriage into another long term relationship. Maybe she knows what she is getting into. Let’s give her some credit.

At least Chris won’t really be wasting Sophie’s time if building a family is the goal…She already has kids to raise and doesn’t necessarily need to pass that bridge with him.
But I agree…this just feels embarrassing for him, running off with another woman, 20 years his junior.
Seems like she may have a type too. And I agree, we don’t know what she wants out of this so can’t presume that Chris is wasting her time. Maybe she wants to have a little fun after being married, and then hopping out of that right into a 2-year-long relationship. She’s not even 30 yet, maybe she’s a little tired of serial monogamy.
As for Chris, until I hear that these grown women are being mistreated in some manner I’m going to let them make the choices that they want to make for their own relationships.
She chooses the most, I don’t know, unappealing artists, in my opinion. I couldn’t think of a better word for how I view the Jonas brothers or Chris Martin.

The idea that a woman’s time was” wasted” because it didn’t end in marriage or children is making a lot of assumptions. DaKota just like Sophie are adults who can enter and leave relationships when they choose.
It’s just a thought, but maybe grown women are capable of thinking by themselves and choose who to be in a relationship with? And obviously some 30yo don’t mind going out with someone 15 or 20 years older.

Well no, because often those men dangle things in front of the women like children and marriage and act like it’s just around the corner “except this has to happen first” and it’s a constantly moving goalpost. I doubt Dakota was naive enough to believe that from a middle aged divorcee with adult children. She was raised by Hollywood lotharios much hotter than Martin.
Women have agency. If woman truly desires to get married and have children, she will find a partner who wants the same things as she does. Women are not helpless children who need to be protected from the big bad men they date that won’t marry them. It’s 2025 let’s stop with this narrative.

I thought when she got together with Pearson so soon after her marriage to Joe Jonas ended that she needed to just be alone for a little while and figure out her life now that she was a single mother after the heartache Jonas put her through. Now she’s started up with Chris Martin of all people just a week after ending another long term relationship?
I get it and I know it’s hard. It’s her life, not mine, but if she were my friend I’d be sitting her down right about now and trying to see if there was anything I could do to help a perspective shift from “must be coupled up at all times” to “maybe it’s okay to be single for a few weeks/months” happen.
I think that, after living in the states for so long, she just wanted to spend time with the most British-est of Brits (some titled knob). Can’t blame her for that. 100% guaranteed that the person she ends up with long-term will be a Brit, given her difficulty adjusting to the US. I don’t blame her…it’s rough going from Europe/UK to freaking Miami or LA. Such a contrast, whereas NYC is not all that different.
He’s as bland and uninteresting as his music.
