Prince Harry & Meghan took their kids to the pumpkin patch & carved pumpkins

Not to get too insidery, but doesn’t it feel like some new social media accounts have been activated very recently and there are instructions to swarm on anything involving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? The online hissy fits and tantrums over the Sussexes are very weird and I wonder who’s paying for it. In any case, Meghan spread some lovely Halloween joy on Sunday, posting some special photos and videos including her kids, her husband, her mom and a man who looks like Markus Anderson (one of Meghan’s besties). The Sussexes went to the pumpkin patch, Meghan had a pumpkin wagon, a pink-clad Lili decided she needed a ride in the wagon, all while Archie (dressed in all black) ran around the rows of pumpkins. Meghan also included a time-lapse video of Harry carving the sh-t out of a pumpkin.

All of this led to some discussion about Americans and Halloween, and how the rest of the world really doesn’t “do” Halloween like Americans. As a nation, we’re obsessed with Halloween decorations and pumpkins and pumpkin carving. I wonder what else the Sussexes do for Halloween in Montecito – their neighborhood doesn’t seem conducive to trick-or-treating, but I bet there are events for kids this week in the community. Like, trunk-or-treats or some kind of Halloween festival at the kids’ school, something like that.

That red hair! The holding hands! Doria! Meghan’s spray on jeans! What a gorgeous family. Hope the kids have a lot of Halloween fun.

  2. Smatone99 says:

So! I don’t do much sm but I have insta. There’s a ‘pro’ Sussex account that posts some definitely shady stuff. I called out and warned others before I got the boot. Some really seem good but then they show themselves

  3. ThetGirlThere says:

That Instagram real is 30 minutes long! In all honesty, I smiled from ear to ear watching that video seeing how Meghan and Harry just love their babies, mama Doria and each other so much. I also think that if they were still on that island, Meghan would find some Halloween activities for her kids to enjoy 🎃

    • Smatone99 says:

I definitely did not see a 30 Min reel?

      • Em says:

It’s a joke! She means she watched it repeatedly and it felt it was 30 minutes long

      • Smatone99 says:

I spent 1.5 hours in an MRI machine this afternoon. I’m. Sure it fried my brain and everything else! Then another hour of scans. It was so stupidly exhausting! I missed the joke entirely (unlike me).

      • therese says:

Smatone99, wishing you well and hope all turns out well for you.

      • jais says:

Ha! I would have loved a 30m reel though. Spooky Season with the Sussexes. A future Netflix special just saying. Not that they’re going to do that but it would be cute as hell.

      • ThatGirlThere says:

Like @Em said, just kidding. Hope your MRI went well @SMATONE99.

  4. Zia says:

In South Africa we don’t really celebrate Halloween but it seems like a fun holiday. I know my daughter would love dressing up in princess costumes.

  5. Em says:

They have Halloween activities in their neighborhood, they were snapped by a neighbor a couple of years ago on Halloween. As for the new bots just know William is bored again and has decided to spend the rest of his life in a one sided battle with harry also some are just opportunistic grifters trying to make money in this shitty economy . The Sussexes are keeping on and these comments don’t do any thing to harm them. I wish them the very best truly because it’s not easy at all

    • Smatone99 says:

Exactly.. Every time people say oh everyone hates the Sussexes, I remind them genuine research proves that over 70% of social media engagement is bots
. KP have been credibly proven to employ bots. KP are credibly proven to brief the press with lies about the Sussexes. I always feel like I have to say one plus one is two but even then….

  6. Hypocrisy says:

Best part of Halloween is the pumpkin patch, especially when you have children. Just a beautiful post, it sure made me smile.

  7. Dee(2) says:

This is cute. And I have wondered if Harry was at first like what’s with all the Halloween stuff at the end of summer when he first moved here. Meghan seems like the type that lives for a chance to decorate and make themed stuff so I’m sure it’s right up here alley.

As for the SM stuff I’m sure a lot of it is coordinated around her new Instagram page, especially since a lot of her fans and old school Sussex Squad people seem to have left Twitter totally. KP still allocates millions per year to ” online services”. That being said I think a lot of people just know that she has a huge fan base, and a huge hate base too. It’s a good way for people to get their follower count up and start monetizing for themselves. They know that Meghan supporters are loyal and will spend money/donate money, so jumping on the bandwagon of support seems expected. Also they know that anyone with a large follower count that says anything shady will be quoted as a royal expert by the British media, so that can explain some of the shady accounts too. In short, it’s a business.

    • Amyb says:

Meghan and Harry went to a Halloween party (with Eugenie and Jack) in 2016 just before their romance went public so he had been exposed early on!

    • Debbie says:

I don’t think it’s likely that Harry had to be talked into getting in the Halloween spirit after moving to California. Archie was already born by then and, once you have children, it becomes de rigueur practically. Even before the children are old enough to appreciate it, parents in America are anxious to experience the holiday through their eyes and to make it fun for them.

  8. Tina says:

I’m in Canada and our lives have revolved around Halloween for about a month now. The decorations, costumes (and endless debates about what to be), pumpkin patches and we’ve already gone to two parties. It’s my kids fav time of year. The kids even wore their costumes running errands yesterday. So happy to see Harry and Meghan and the kids enjoying themselves.

    • jais says:

Yep. Fall is full-on busy time. Apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, trick or treat festivals in the park, pumpkin/scarecrow contests and we’re still 5 days away, lol. It’s been a beautiful fall but the rain just came in and I’m guessing it’ll knock a lot of the colorful leaves off the trees. Sending love out to Jamaica and everyone in the storm path.

  9. How cute!! And of course I loved the California Dreaming music 😉. Cue the autumn naycha video to be released of the lazies out in a pumpkin patch with children and some very fake pda. The lazies just love patchen it in the autumn lol.

  10. Amy Bee says:

They go trick or treating. Somebody sneaked a photo of them with the children one year. It’s just nice that they are able to live a normal life away from the Palace. Harry seems really into carving pumpkins.

  11. Kittenmom says:

Love Archie – he seems like a kid on a mission!

I bet harry loved every second of the pumpkin carving. He’s getting a second, more fun, childhood thru his kids.

    • Joanne says:

It must be so exciting for Harry to experience this with his kids. I love that Harry can give his children the life he wished he had. Princess Diana was so much fun for the kids and her loss ended their childhood.

  12. Lili says:

I watched a vid on UT where a squaddie was explaining the new activity, WanK have surrendered to the Sussexes where if Harry and Meghan are trending they trend too even with out posts any SEO search for H &M turns up Wank first,

  13. aquarius64 says:

I love the Sussexes enjoying Halloween, especially now with the S show going on with the Windsors re: the Andrew/Sarah/Epstein/BRF mess. The scandal hasn’t touched them.

  14. Nicole says:

I have to say that Halloween is not my jam. I stay apathetic, but I’m happy for those who do. Say what you want about America, we do seem to be over the top with our holidays and celebrations. I hope Harry is having fun. (It looks like he is.)

  15. Eurydice says:

Adorable, all of it, just adorable.

  16. Little Red says:

Does anybody know who that other man who was also pumpkin carving?

  17. Maxine Branch says:

Happy the Sussexes are far away from the drama and are ensuring their children’s lives are normal. Love this for them.

  18. Jay says:

Harry looks so proud carving that pumpkin!

As for the bots, I am not on any socials anymore (for my own health) so I’ll have to take your word for it, but it wouldn’t be surprising if there is increased bot activity now that the Sussexes are actually outside more often! Meghan’s business has been taking off, Harry’s charitable work has been increasing, and they are attending more public events and getting more positive publicity. Meanwhile, the leftbehinds are mired in scandal, barely visible to the public and seemingly more interested in playing games with their many estates and places while the rest of Britain suffers in an affordability crisis. I’d consider them a threat, too!

  19. jais says:

Love it. So cute. Fans were posting pics of Archie running in the corn maze when he was little versus now to show how much he’s grown.

  20. Glamma says:

    So sweet and festive.

  21. Moniquep says:

You know how the BM and so called “royal experts ” are always interpreting everything that Meghan does as a message to wank / monarchy? Well, I can interpret this one for them.

To William: We are happy! and our happiness is apparently causing you pain and misery. So go ahead and take your stupid titles, if you think it will make you feel better, it won’t. We will still be happy and you will still be miserable! ITS NOT THE TITLES STUPID!!!!

    BWAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!

  22. VilleRose says:

Very cute videos! My first thought was Archie and Lili wouldn’t get to do any of this if they were growing up in the UK since they don’t celebrate Halloween over there. I’m sure Meghan would have kept the tradition alive somehow for them but it wouldn’t have been the same for them and no trick or treating or anything like that. I’m sure that’s something Harry must have enjoyed upon moving here, it was so cute watching him carve the pumpkin.

  23. QuiteContrary says:

Halloween originated in Ireland, so I always thought it was strange that England — which is so close to Ireland (alarmingly close LOL) — didn’t embrace its traditions until, I guess, pretty recently.

It’s such a fun holiday when you have little kids … Meghan’s Insta content took me right back to when my kids were little — the pumpkin patch trip was always the highlight of our season.

So happy for the Sussexes that they are living this lovely life.

  24. Elly says:

I avoid reading nasty social media comments about the Sussexes. I closed my X several months ago. I know there are a lot of bots out there. I really believe that a lot of the mistreatment of H&M has stemmed from William’s jealousy. I also think William probably threatens to quit (abdicate) and then Charles and the Firm try to appease him. How else to account for Andrew being treated better than Harry?! I’m very glad to see the Sussex family getting out and about more and enjoying Halloween. Yes, we’re very big into Halloween in the US. Here in California there are pumpkin patches everywhere with corn mazes, petting zoos and games too. A fun, wholesome activity for the whole family. They are thriving despite the mistreatment they have received.

  25. Steph says:

I found it weird that Harry opened the bottom of the pumpkin instead of the top. Anyone else do that?

    • TheWigletOfWails says:

My boyfriend does. He prefers to carry the pumpkin by the stem and if putting lights in he covers it like a cloche.

    • MsIam says:

Does it matter? I don’t really scrutinize things that much I guess.

    • tamsin says:

Opening at the bottom is better if you want to light it. You can set the pumpkin on a smooth surface like a table or a step, and plop the pumpkin over the light. It’s hard to get a smooth surface when carving from the top.

    • JanetDR says:

@Steph, it is fairly new, but most people are on board with it!

  26. maja says:

It’s so wonderful that the Sussexes can celebrate all this as a family and with good friends.
Here, children in scary costumes ring doorbells to collect sweets. They only ring at houses decorated with hollowed-out pumpkins with light eyes.
I like Halloween, but I also go to church on this day we call “Reformation Day”. After “Thanksgiving” on 5 October, it is the next beautiful church festival. Then St. Martin’s Day will soon be here :))))

  27. Over it says:

Never has people I don’t know happiness brought me so much joy I love this happy, family peaceful life for them. This family deserves rainbows and butterflies every day . They deserve a bucket of ever lasting love and togetherness.
May all who continue to attack them know no peace. No joy and no happiness

  28. Viva says:

I really don’t understand why Americans seem to think that the British don’t celebrate Halloween. It’s been a celebration for a long time, All Hallows Eve. I’m in my 50s and as a child had Halloween parties with spooky fancy dress and bob apple games, toffee apples and so on. It isn’t a US made thing, you know.

    • jais says:

Good to know. I remember one year, when I was in my early twenties so around 20 years ago, I was randomly in Madrid on Halloween and I kept walking around going where are the trick or treaters. My American self-centeredness had me thinking it would still be a thing, lol.

  29. jais says:

Ack, just remembered that there is a new Asever drop tomorrow. Duh-duh-duh, what will it be? Has anyone tried the SB yet? I did…lol and I was not used to the SB game. I had joked that I would give to my mom and tell her it was chardonnay, but no, that was not happening. Not a huge wine-drinker and man that was some ignorant thinking on my part. They aint even close.

  30. Normades says:

Halloween has been a thing for years now in France but the younger generation is finally catching on that you don’t have to dress “scary”

  31. Keely Upton says:

I do agree with all the ideas you have introduced on your post They are very convincing and will definitely work Still the posts are very short for newbies May just you please prolong them a little from subsequent time Thank you for the post

  32. maja says:

No? No scary costumes? What a shame :))))
