Last week, a couple of people from the American consulate in the Philippines arrived at the Cebu hospital where Thomas Markle was being treated for a leg or foot amputation (the story changed several times). The consulate officials apparently spoke to Thomas privately, reminded him of his medical privacy rights and ensured that he was where the Daily Mail said he was. Soon after, the Duchess of Sussex’s handwritten letter was delivered to Thomas at the hospital. Meghan’s spokesperson issued a statement alongside the confirmation of the letter’s delivery, saying: “Given that a Daily Mail reporter has remained at her father’s bedside throughout, broadcasting each interaction and breaching clear ethical boundaries, it has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days. With the support of reliable and trusted contacts, her correspondence is now safely in his hands.”
Since that statement and letter delivery, it’s been pretty quiet. As of this writing, Thomas has not given any additional interviews, although there is a new first-person piece written by Caroline Graham in today’s Mail, which I will cover tomorrow. Meghan’s half-siblings have been making asses out of themselves, but that’s nothing new. Then, over the weekend, there was a new angle – after all of the bullsh-t that’s happened, Meghan isn’t going to visit Thomas, nor will she call him! These stories are coming from Page Six and the Times of London (same owners, the Murdoch fam).
Meghan Markle has no plans to travel to the Philippines to see her seriously ill father — although she could easily get there by private jet, according to multiple sources.
On the heels of extolling the joy of celebrating family in her glossy holiday special on Netflix, the Duchess of Sussex has spent the week fighting off claims from her family that she has not contacted Thomas Markle, from whom she’s been estranged since 2018.
Meanwhile, Page Six has learned that Markle and Prince Harry will join friends for a luxe New Year’s vacation out of the country. They’ll spend Christmas at home in Montecito, California, alongside their kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, as well as Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.
Other sources who know Markle note that she could make the 15-hour trip from Los Angeles to the Philippines, where her father is currently recovering at the University of Cebu Medical Centre.
“If she knows where he is, why wouldn’t she go to him?” one source in the know said, noting Markle could have borrowed a private jet from one of her high-powered pals. “She rarely flies commercial.”
Indeed, as previously reported, Markle and husband Prince Harry have flown in a lavish 12-seater Cessna jet paid for by Sir Elton John and were guests on a private plane chartered for their trip to Vancouver back in February 2024, as a source told us, “They certainly don’t like to spend their own money.”
Another person familiar with the family added: “Meghan had her father’s number and room and hospital name very early on … she won’t even call him.”
A Markle insider confirmed to Page Six, however, she has no plans to see her dad. And the source in the know admitted that, for Markle, any attempt to contact her father — as well as her older half-sister Samantha and half-brother Thomas Jr., both of whom have been outspoken about their disdain — would likely end in tears.
“I don’t know why even risked sending this latest letter, especially with the situation with the last letter,” said the source. “The family could share it or they could paraphrase it to be worse than it is, and then she’s f–ked.”

What else? The Times says Meghan won’t call Thomas because she “fears a phone call could be overheard. It is also understood she deleted her father’s number after her wedding in May 2018, which he did not attend.” Good for her.

The pictures Caroline shared of her and Tom in the hospital do not show him in ICU. Any photo that was shared was not in the ICU. No doubt Meghan knows it’s not serious and put that in the letter.

The visit from the US consulate was a masterclass. It totally took the wind of the sails of this story. He was already clearly out of the ICU and was recovering from whatever procedure he had done.

Highly doubtful he was even in the ICU. The story keeps changing. Once Meghan got the Embassy involved they were quiet.
He was not in the ICU when the Fail released the photos of him in a hospital bed. He was in a regular ward. The ICU at that particular hospital doesn’t allow visitors, so Ms. Graham would not have had access to him at that stage. The story we are getting is that he started out in the ICU and was then moved to a regular ward, although I imagine it was a private room.
Meghan’s relationship with her sperm donor is none of the media’s damn business and they know it. This whole thing has exposed how smarmy they have been about Thomas from the very beginning and now they are trying to save face. The sooner the ‘lower classes’ understand that dynamic, the sooner they will realize that the media is not operating to serve the broad public but operating to serve its bosses who are a part of the higher echelon of the establishment.
The establishment decided very early that Meghan does not deserve a place in the upper echelon of the establishment. The treatment she continues to receive is a reflection of that early decision. I don’t expect anything will change their position on Meghan (and possibly her children) regardless of how much Harry tries to ‘mend fences’ with his paternal family.
Transparency is the enemy of the establishment. They will go to great lengths to remain as opaque as possible. Some of the public fall for the distractions but a sizable population is now apathetic which is not good for the monarchy since indifference can lead to irrelevance.
At any rate I’ll conclude by saying, the establishment did not anticipate the Sussex’s ability to adapt to a life of financial independence outside of the institution so the establishment is struggling to invalidate their success and control their livelihood six years after they left the UK.

Deborah Ross in The Times did an article in the form of a letter to TM is listing how many times he has failed to be a protective, loyal and proud father to his daughter. How can he expect her to trust her again after 8 years of constant betrayal whilst bleating that he’s been shunned for no reason known to him. She ends by advising him not to sell the latest letter. You can actually read the anger in the Post article – they are furious that she outmaneuvered them. All these years later, she has learned a few things about what she can do – no doubt with the help of some good attorneys. Getting the Embassy involved and also shutting down the chatty hospital workers was also key. I read the Daily Mail article that Graham put out today – even the president of the hospital lawyered up. They overplayed their hand.
So now the hospital staff is no longer chatting away sharing private information and have gotten their lawyers involved. They should have done that in the first place. So many people and even the hospital can be sued over this debacle.

Last time it was 5 pages long and she detailed how upset, angry and disgusted she was by his betrayal by media interviews lying about her and Harry. The Times piece had too many speculative phrases like it’s understood and it’s thought to be taken seriously. Some of it was stating the obvious or reporting news that we already knew. And it sparked an angry response from Chris Ship who said it wasn’t an exclusive and repeated information from ITV’s royal podcast. Furthermore Roya Nikkhah is firmly in KP’s camp, doesn’t have any contacts from Meghan’s team and has made up stories in the past about Harry and Meghan.

The bottom line is that the entrapment plot has spectacularly failed and Meghan has publicly denounced the DM’s underhand antics. Game, set and match to Meghan! She knows exactly what she’s dealing with untrustworthy TM and DM! I expect the letter was short and to the point. I genuinely wonder if he has always been as slippery as a greased ferret to deal with because he seems like an active and eager scam artist that can’t be shamed. Yes Caroline Graham and co are enabling him and amplifying his poison but the impetus is coming from him. This desperate article is so manipulative on so many levels. The Markle/ Daily Fail scam was exposed so why are they trying to drag this out? Graham is acting like she’s Thomas’s wife and gatekeeper. Meghan does not have to deal with these people at all, Markle will eventually be discharged from that hospital, he’s obviously stable so why would she need to go there? If she actually showed up there with US Embassy or Filipino officials, Tom Markle would have another heart attack. No one feels sorry for Graham and her completely unethical interference. She is milking this story now and it’s becoming more exploitative. Meghan spending her holidays with her family who love her who she can trust is bring framed like its a bad things and omg, she’s flown on private jets and may be out of town for the New Year too! Why would she do that over having Daily Mail cameras and that gargoyle reporter in her face. So glad she got the Embassy involved.
Why haven’t all the tabloids been relating how Meghan contacted the US Embassy in the Philippines to do a well check on her dad? I guess that doesn’t fit their narrative of Meghan being cold and uncaring.

Yes, and I just can’t imagine a hospital allowing this reporter to do this in the US but maybe hospitals have different policies in the Philippines.

One thing I just can’t understand. Obviously Thomas is a venal, greedy man. He could have chosen to manipulate and blackmail his daughter for the rest of his life and been assured of a steady stream of money from her. Meghan would not have let her father live in poverty. He at one point said he didn’t need money and that if he did, Meghan would give him money if he asked her. Instead, he contributed to a British press whose goal was to destroy his daughter by slandering her to destroy her reputation and mental health. Obviously his so-called “love” for her was always transactional, and he saw early that she could be an endless gravy train. He has a narcissistic character, and is racist and misogynistic underneath it all.
He could only blackmail Meghan if she’d done something wrong, she didn’t want to get out. The BM researched her background and found nothing terrible. So, Tom had nothing to blackmail her with. True, Meghan is generous enough to have continued giving money to Tom, but he wanted more. And I think that Meghan has shown by now that she is a dutiful person, but she will not be manipulated by Tom, the British media or anyone.
Meghan has been done with it since 2018. I am sure she knows Tom was paid to disrupt the wedding and he embarrassed her and ruined her wedding day! She has professional PR folks and she did not want the narrative they were painting to stick and that is why she even said something about this embarrassment of a man!

The problem with Meghan calling TM on the phone is not that someone would “overhear” the conversation – it’s that TM himself would record it to sell later.
And as far as visiting, hoo boy! She would have to go through Junior, who violently hates her and already announced that Meghan would have to be searched and frisked in order to get let in. Thanks but no thanks. It is my sincere hope that Meghan has some sort of restraining/protective order against contact with Junior.
TM abused his body decade after decade with smoking, food and refusal to exercise. Of course it would come to this. I suspect the leg is glad to be rid of him.

No one needs a source to tell them that she could fly by jet or even a commercial plane to visit him in the Philippines. How else would a person get from the U.S. to the Philippines? A boat? Meghan is just like the rest of us where none of us need multiple sources to confirm that we could use a jet or plane to get from the U.S. to the Philippines or anywhere else that across the ocean. Who writes for the Murdochs trash tabloids? until thomas really wants to reconnect with Meghan and her family outsiders of all stripes need to disappear from the scene-any discussions between Meghan and father will only include the two of them-any third parties will be legal people to confirm the situation-her father has caused her so much pain and disappoints she is looking forward for her own family sakes-anyone whose family member treated them this way would have a hard row to hoe to become any part of their lives. Can someone please direct me to the photos of William and his family visiting his father when he was in the hospital after his cancer diagnosis? Or maybe there’s some photos when William and his family visited him after he got home from the hospital? How about photos of William visiting his wife in the hospital? Do we even have definitive proof William ever visited her at all? Where are the touching photos of Kate’s kids bringing her flowers after her surgery?
