Jude Law is worried his ex-wife’s tell-all could damage his career

Here are some lovely photos of Jude Law at the Empire Awards last night in London, where he won the “Empire Hero” award (full list of winners here). I have no idea what it is or why or anything. Whatever. Good for Jude. Jude went to collect his award and he looked smarmy and sexy and dashing all at once, per usual. As many have noted, it really does seem like being back with Sienna Miller agrees with him, at least in the looks department. Very pretty.

Incidentally, I read something very interesting about Jude and his ex-wife Sadie Frost. People will probably only care about this if you’ve been following Jude-related gossip for a while, or if you have a good memory for rumors relating to Jude. The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Jude is upset with Sadie because she’s planning on writing a tell-all book about her life, and her relationship to Jude, the divorce, and her friendships with various hot and popular young Londoners. Here’s the report:

Jude Law has seriously fallen out with his ex-wife Sadie Frost over her latest career move. Ever since their divorce, the pair have enjoyed a remarkably civilised friendship. Until recently, they still went on holiday together and Jude is a regular fixture at Sadie’s North London home.

But now the autobiography Sadie has been writing since Christmas has created a rift between the former couple.

‘Jude has told Sadie that he wants to know exactly what is written about him,’ says a source. ‘He is very worried that some of the revelations could be damaging to his career and upsetting for their children when they are old enough to read it.’

Jude, who is filming in Paris, has reportedly taken advice from solicitors Atkins Thomson, who also advise his girlfriend Sienna Miller.

‘Jude has more than a bee in his bonnet about it and he has consulted Sienna’s lawyers for advice,’ said a source. ‘Sienna is also concerned because she doesn’t know what Sadie will say about her either.’

The book, which I first revealed in December, will lift the lid on the clothes designer’s eclectic and colourful life in Primrose Hill, where she used to be one of the leading members of the notorious ‘Primrose Hill posse’.

Sources involved with the project say the book will span her childhood, early career and her marriage to Jude – as well as their break-up. But those close to Sadie insist the book will focus on her life – rather than her ex-husband and her close friends, who include the supermodel Kate Moss.

Friends say Sadie and Jude’s friendship first soured at Christmas when Jude took their children and Sienna on holiday. ‘Sadie was invited, but Jude told her she would have to pay for herself,’ says a pal.

[From The Daily Mail]

Now, I’ll buy that Jude is upset at Sadie because of some potential revelations she could be writing about. What I don’t buy is that it has anything to do with Sienna Miller or anything like that. One of the rumors that I’ve always believed about Jude and Sadie is that while they were still married, they were swingers who engaged in threesomes and orgies with people like Kate Moss and others. I also would like to know if Sadie thought (or perhaps still thinks) that Jude might have had an affair with Nicole Kidman while they filmed Cold Mountain. People always forget about that rumor! But that was who Jude was rumored to be hooking up with when his marriage to Sadie fell apart. Oh, and I’d also like to know Sadie’s feelings on that nanny Jude banged (she was a nanny Sadie had hired after all).

Due to a massive hangover I watched The Holiday on tv yesterday and I’m not going to lie – my Jude Law love is back on.

And I know it’s not mainstream, but the orgy rumours make me like him even more!

  2. Risa says:

    … hahaa… he has a bee in his bonnet…

  3. Tess says:

Yeah, the only plausible explanation for his concern is that he’s a player and possibly bisexual, which he would not want publicized.

  4. EMV says:

I like Jude Law as an actor. He was especially great in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”…such a great book and movie. As for his love life if you have threesomes and orgies with your husband or wife how can you be surprised if they go “outside” of the relationship. Let’s be realistic.

  5. Jack says:

There is nothing more English then a bisexual Swinger, Sienna Miller is probably into that crappy lifestyle also.

  6. nikki says:

i feel many drug stories(they partied with Kate Moss, Galliano or Alexander McQueen),sex stories(bisexuality, orgies,SM sex) and mean behaviour!

  7. buckley says:

I loved “The Holiday” and it also made me like
Jude more. Don’t know why..but everyone seemed so charming in it..

  8. TG says:

Risa – You made me laugh out loud I almost spit my drink out. I love it.

  9. Sigh. says:

IDK, if she was trying to take him down in some sort of way, she had plenty of opportunity before this point, so why now?

She used to be an actress, so she knows how much image impacts employment, and he needs to stay employed to keep paying, so I bet the controversial stuff will be so watered-down and justified (“We were all doing it”), that she’ll get her publicity, and it will blow over.

At least I hope so for his career’s sake. Repo Men’s box office take…ssssss…not so much.

  10. Deanna says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The thing is, if you live a life for which you feel no shame, you don’t have to worry if it is going to be revealed.

Both Jude and his trashy ho bag GF should be worried.

  11. lucy2 says:

If his career and image get tarnished because stuff about him comes out, he really only has himself to blame. If you don’t act like a ho and do all kinds of other stuff, the actions aren’t there to be told later.
However, I would question why anyone would trash their kids father and reveal such private things about them, knowing their kids would hear about it some way or another.

  12. Iggles says:

I agree with Deanna and lucy2! If he has cause to be concerned, it’s HIS FAULT!

    @ lucy2:
However, I would question why anyone would trash their kids father and reveal such private things about them, knowing their kids would hear about it some way or another.

Please! As soon as these kids can Google they’ll find out from the media how much of a man-ho their father is! Nanny-gate and groupie lovechild is about as damaging as it can get.

Why should Sadie pretend Jude’s a saint most of his business is already out there? I don’t think she should censor herself because ‘what about the kids?!’

Jude obviously wasn’t thinking about his kids when he engage is morally questionable behavior.

  13. lucy2 says:

I get your point Iggles. It’s bad enough all that is out there for them to see and hear about anyway, but I’m thinking if your own mother is contributing to it, that’s even worse.
I’m thinking that given the choice, I wouldn’t want to inflict FURTHER damage that what their father already publicly has.

  14. ThunderC*nt says:

He will tank and you know it deep inside after he shoved that woman photographer on the elevator in NYC. Hurling oranges at NYU students just adds to the fact that he’s probably a drunk who hates women. If you’ve ever had a good-looking BF in your life, you’ll bee able to see this guy for what he is.

Like the short man Napolean complex, he has that “losing my hair” male complex that has got to be KILLING HIM!

  15. bellaluna says:

If it’s something that can’t already be Googled, I’ll be surprised. The children can already search out gossip on the web, so unless there’s something more scandalous than cheating on your wife, sleeping with your kids’ nanny while engaged to another woman, fathering another child with a one-night-stand, not seeing said child for 6 months, etc…I can’t see why he’d be worried.

  16. danielle says:

Lol, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to hear that Jude’s been a VERY bad boy.

  17. Lenore says:

With all the trash that’s been written about him, stuff that’s on the internet which is readily available for his children to access any time they like, I wouldn’t worry. (Or in other words, Jude, they already know you’re a tart. Don’t worry.)

I get the impression Sadie will at least be blunt and fair rather than trying to stick a knife in him – the way they’ve kept it together and raised their children amicably suggests she’s got their best interests at heart and she wouldn’t want to hurt them. Whatever she confirms in her book can’t be worse than the stuff people are already saying!

After all, could consensual swinging be WORSE than the time he banged their nanny on the pool table? Or the time he forgot how many kids he had on Letterman? 😀

  18. Mistral says:

Ya, I don’t think I’d want my kids knowing about wild coke-fueled orgies either!

Surely Sadie has some other means of supporting herself??

Or, at least wait until the kids have grown up and reached their mid-twenties (thus getting through adolescence and an undergraduate degree, at the very least).

  19. Gwen says:

This is funny given that he’s now willingly dating a woman who’s been doing nothing but talking to the press about that little affair he had. What could Sadie possible reveal, in a book that no one will read, that’s worse than the nannybanging and the baby with the old looking famewhore? And who will really care? This will just create attention for the book. Doesn’t he have pr-people that can tell him that?

  20. Mairead says:

For a laugh on the Frost/Law saga, if you can access Channel 4 online, look for “Star Stories”, the Sadie Frost installment – hi-feckin-larious! Some channel 4 programmes are on their YouTube channel, so try looking for it there.

  21. Whatever says:

While I wouldn’t write a tell all about my life or an ex, he is kidding if he thinks this will hurt his image with his fans or kids. All the stories and knocking up his one night stand should be enough to embarass them for life!

  22. UrbanRube says:

He was great in “The Holiday,” Roma. I did not want to find him sympathetic, but then, the writers didn’t play fair. He played a lovelorn widower who protected and nurtured his two adorable daughters…

  23. Emily says:

I don’t think she’s going to tell us anything we didn’t already know. It’ll probably be all the same old stories, but from her perspective.

  24. Kelly says:

I am not really sure if you are right Emily because he would not be worried in the first place if people already know everything. We will find it out soon.

  25. Emily says:

@Kelly, I just always got the impression that these two were still friendly after the divorce, and therefore less likely to do something like this than, say, Denise Richards.

  26. canadianchick says:

I watched Jude in the Holiday too-he is a man ho but he was charming and yummy in that movie. Cameron Diaz couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag.I dunno, unless he’s got a swastika on a surfboard or is a wife beater nothing about her book would surprise me.

  27. Tia C says:

Good, I hope it DOES damage his career. He is WAY overrated. And sorry, EMV, but I live in Savannah and I thought he was especially BAD in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” For starters it was bad casting from a purely physical standpoint, as he bore no resemblance at all to the real person he was playing, and his performance was over the top and just generally TV-movie of the week-ish, IMHO. (Kevin Spacey, on the other hand, rocked the shiz out of that movie, but I digress).

Bottom line: if you don’t want certain things about yourself to come out in public, then don’t do them. Duh. But honestly, the book will probably only make him appear “cooler” anyway, he probably has nothing to worry about.

  28. Anti-icon says:

I think this is the type of gossip I respect from a real star, and that is what Jude Law is. He really has charisma, he really is a bad boy, and he also seems to be as dedicated a family man as can be managed given he’s in show biz. Sadie is an enigma also. I would TOTALLY read this book. Their children will be no worse for wear than civilian kids of libertine parents. I got the respect for this flavor of freak.

  29. julia says:

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Worried about his career, this bloke is the most wooden actor since Pinocchio.

The only one damaging his career is him by keep on insisting he is an actor!!!!!!!!!

  30. lani says:

Well, whatever his ex has to say about him…I don’t really care…that’s their problem…Now him as an actor, I really like him! I bought “Cold Mountain” the other day…Such a good movie!! I cry every time at the end…And I’ve watched it a bunch of times. I think he is a very good actor….Also, a cute hottie, guy!! Which is always, cool…If, you think about it…most actors male and female…are always, having their flings..with whoever!!?? That’s Hollywood!! (well, that’s regular folks, too…)Only when they do it,Everyone…Knows about it, and of course, WE ALL have OUR OPINIONS about them!!

  31. lani says:

I think Jude is a very good actor I loved him in “Cold Mountain”…Great show..good cast!I’ve just now discovered him??! “The Holiday”..” Alfie” ect…Now his ex’s book?? It has nothing to do with his acting ability…So, I’m a new Fan of his!!
