Jennifer Aniston’s beige cocktail dress: stunning or boring?

bounty_hunter_berlin_09_wenn2792339

On Sunday, Jennifer wore a hot pink Lacroix mullet dress to the Paris premiere of Bounty Hunter. Although the dress was widely panned in the media, I didn’t flat-out hate the dress, I just thought it had some design problems (problem: it made Aniston look like she had a big ol’ gut). Well, Jennifer went back to short and tight for the Berlin premiere of Bounty Hunter last night, and as you can see, she truly has a great figure. But the color? Ugh. I talked about this during all of the Oscar fashion posts – what the hell is going on with all of these beige/taupe/nude trends? Very few women have the coloring to pull it off, and even in that select group of ladies, why would you want to go the nude/beige route?

Now, does Jennifer have the coloring to wear this nude/beige shade? Kind of. It doesn’t wash her out because her hair is so light and she’s so tan. But wouldn’t this dress have been better in that Lacroix shade of hot pink? Or a rich blue or purple, or even an emerald green? What the hell does Aniston have against jewel tones?

Sidenote: seeing those photos of Gerard Butler with his finger up Aniston’s ass has totally warped me. I swear Jennifer seems to be holding herself differently. As if… there was some ass play. You know? Like she’s a little sore?

    Stunning!

    I love it.
God, I think she looks better and better every year.

  4. bite me says:

    nice gams

  5. Risa says:

I think she looks good, but it looks like a girdle is sticking out the back… and the fabric texture leaves much to be desired- the draping is very nice on her frame though!

  6. canadianchick says:

Bahahaha re a$$ play comment, it could be..she’s walking a little off kilter. I hope she’s having fun with him but Jenny double wrap the condom-make that triple wrap! Hey whatever works for her. I like the dress but I do agree too much beige on the red carpet overall with all the stars.

  7. nanster says:

What the heck is she wearing under the dress? I can see something peeking out both in back and under her arms. With her kind of money, you’d think she could find some undergarments that wouldn’t be so obvious. Those things aside, I don’t think that that dress is very complimentary…she has a great figure.

  8. Marjalane says:

I think this is one of those dresses that look much better in person; The softer shades usually do. Having said that- I really hope she isn’t bumping it with G Butler! I so don’t get the attraction with him, he always looks like he hasn’t bathed since his last “encounter”. I guess some people like his homeless chic scruff, but he makes me shudder.

  9. Solveig says:

    Lovely.
Nice colour, and Jennifer is one of the few lucky women who can wear beige/old-rose/nude colours and don’t look washed out.

  10. Erin says:

boring…as always. she always looks exactly the same, no matter what she’s wearing. That dress belongs on a rich middle aged trophy wife trying to hard at a fundraiser.

  11. cyann says:

    HOT

  12. Popcorny says:

    I see her vadge! Outrage!
    (kidding)
A delightfully spritely dress. The gather on the thigh is a little harsh and the color a tad pale, 2 inches too short but quite the elegant little sparkler.
What’s going on with the white straps on her back? Bra? Medical tape? Hmmm.

  13. CeeCee12 says:

Meh.I don’t dig the color at all. I was hoping she would do something different with her hair. In another color the dress could have been fantastic.
She does have a little hobble in her step.lol
I just know they are getting down hot and heavy. Good for her.

  14. Annabelle says:

    Not flattering

  15. Mairead says:

Meh, she looks all right. The dress is nice but I don’t really think she suits it – it could be the colour which doesn’t photograph well. The shoes are nice.

But I wish she’d do something different with her hair, ideally curl it, as it would soften her face and be less forgiving with whatever overprocessing she’s done to it in the past few months. It looked much better up at the Paris premiere.

  16. DD says:

I think the color is washing her out. Although it’s way better than that pink dress from the other day.

  17. Gemma says:

Lovely dress, but should definetely change her footwear stylist.

  18. Really? says:

    Boring, like her.

  19. isabelle says:

    Love it.

  20. coconut says:

I think beige looks great on her and that in general she wears colors (she knows what looks good on her). I’m only viewing the photos on the web and in print, but I think many of the blush and beige dresses look great on the women.

  21. Lem says:

i think part of the “undergarments” that some of you are seeing is actually a nude corset with boning that is built into the dress. if you look closely you can see it through the front of the dress as well.

  22. k says:

Aniston is “beige” in general. And I’m SOOO sick of her beachy hair. I do not like that dress.

  23. Richi says:

    Amazingly HOT!!!

  24. Jag says:

It would be prettier in a different, bright color, but it’s not terrible for that. What makes it terrible imo is that you can see she’s wearing some sort of shaper or undergarment. I thought it was a bra, but then it’s down her waist in the front, too, and totally covering her back. Why would she wear a cut-out dress like that and then wear a shaper that can be seen under it? Very confusing.

Those finger up the butt pictures surprised the heck outta me, that’s for sure. lol

  25. Rose says:

Don’t think much of the dress, unflattering drapage makes her look like she has a belly and she doesn’t.
I prefer colours on her, the pink she wore the other day really suited her, although I was not wild about the cut of that dress either.
Agree with comment about her hair, she had beautiful hair, but it’s always the same.

  26. terry says:

Not the mostr beautiful dress jen has ever worn but she makes it work. Jen is smoking hot!!

  27. N.D. says:

Dress is OK and she looks stunning but that corset or undergarments thing is awfull, especially on the back.

  28. snowball says:

Love it, love the texture, apart from some of the unnecessary sheer crap.

But there’s more of those loopy shoes I was talking about yesterday! They aren’t crazy ones, but most of her sandals consist of a series of loops. Seriously.

  29. Lee says:

Wow, the finger/butt thing sure surprised me too. I was totally on the “friends-only” bandwagon, and now I’m going to have to re-think my position. I will say now that I believe an r-word applies to them: not “romance”, but “raunchy”, as in, “we’re all grown-ups here, so let’s just f-ck.” BTW, I think she looks great in the dress.

  30. Tia C says:

Neither, the dress is just unflattering and unattractive.

  31. Ursaline says:

Heh, I don’t think he was being completely gross, but he was clearly fondling a cheek there. They are totally friends with benefits.

And the color of the dress is so/so in the photos but maybe it looked better in person without a million flashes going off at once.

  32. Me says:

I love it, she looks great. Her body is awesome.

  33. lucy2 says:

I like the dress, except for the undergarment stuff which I agree with Lem, is definitely part of the dress. I’m always partial to pale and sparkly dresses though. Anne Hathaway’s from last year was still my fave.

LOL about the infamous photo – DListed yesterday had a link to Butler doing the same thing to Jeffrey Dean Morgan a while back. I guess he thinks it’s funny. Personally I find it childish and disrespectful.

  34. michellllle says:

While many consider beige to be boring I always thought it elegant. The dress itself is not “elegant” but she more than pulls it off w/ that gorgeous figure. Her hair & makeup are lovely too. Beautiful as always.

  35. chicoulina says:

I love the dress. The neutral colors work best for her!She is one of the few actresses that can pull off neutral colors without looking washed out.I like her hair down. The other day with her hair up and wearing a bright color she was a disaster.I hate her shoes. The last few days she has been wearing horrible shoes.
She has a terrific body and skin tone.
I don’t like Gerard I agree with @Marjalane,he always looks like he hasn’t had a shower in ages.
I was so disapointed in his hand gesture. That was so disrespectful, even if they are f….ing, you do not do that!!I wonder how Aniston reacted?

  36. Crash2GO2 says:

    Stunning!!

  37. Leek says:

I love it but I think it would look better on a brown woman.

  38. sonola trip says:

Jen wore the very same undergarment at the “Bounty Hunter” premiere in London. In London her dress started to slide down the front and you could see that same sheer corset thing popping out the top. Same colour, same vertical stripes.

  39. Sigh. says:

It’s…pretty. She wears her uniform well (hair – sleek, dress – short/sparkly = safe, shoes – strappy).

I question if that corset is an intentional part of the design or if she didn’t/couldn’t wear that dress as intended (it’s rather sheer and has NO support). It’s kinda distracting, but needed, I guess.

Ever since he gave her the Christmas goose (Hello!), they seem to have toned it down at subsequent premieres. No more pawing and fawning, which is good. It was wearing thin on me.

That LaCroix thing was over-designed, needed to be a tad shorter or much longer, and twisted to one side.

  40. Lee says:

@Lucy2 agreed – public butt + finger = childish, but between guys, totally done for laughs. To a woman? Hmm. I’m still thinking it denotes past/current sack time. But regardless, whether or not that’s true, it’s just disrespectful, not funny, and a punch in the nose is required.

  41. sonola trip says:

Regarding the infamous fingering photo … Gerry pinched Jeffrey Dean Morgan on a butt cheek during a photocall. That’s all he did. Gerry didn’t bury his middle finger right into Jeffrey’s crack and up his sphincter like he did with Jennifer. It’s a good thing too because Jeffrey probably would have put Butler in the hospital if he’d tried that. It’s too bad Jen didn’t.

  42. Lisa says:

It would be stunning on someone else. On her it looked like unwashed drapes.

  43. N.D. says:

@Sigh.: >>I question if that corset is an intentional part of the design or if she didn’t/couldn’t wear that dress as intended (it’s rather sheer and has NO support). It’s kinda distracting, but needed, I guess.

TBH, if it’s not an intentional part of that dress (and it doesn’t look like it is to me) and if she really couldn’t wear that dress without it then she really should have not be wearing such dress at all. Because it ruins everything.

Well from the front it’s OK, despite corset thing being visible as the dress is see through, but her back looks absolutely awfull to me – where you expect to see her skin, there come some random bandages and strings.

My idea of supporting corsets is that they not just do their job but also maintain an illusion that it’s all natural. May be I’m outdated though 🙂

  44. Trillion says:

    The color suits her personality.

  45. imo says:

Its boring, she looks exactly the same to me ALL the time! Same hair, makeup, facial expressions when she’s “acting.” Maybe Gerry stuck a finger up her ass to get a different emotion out of her for once lol…got to hand it to her, shes got great legs tho

  46. Sigh. says:

    @ N.D.:

If you’re outdated then shake hands with old-fashioned, because I agree.

It’s a “nice” dress, but that business going on underneath throws the look off for me. My eye is drawn straight to the stripes (boning). I would think she (read her stylist) has access to plenty of products/underwear that would keep her together while keeping that dress PG-13.

    Ah, well…group shrug.

  47. Cheyenne says:

@Lee: ITA that it was disrespectful and unfunny to goose her in public like that; it raises an interesting question of why he disrespects her so much.

  48. Eileen Yover says:

I think its gorgeous and she really looks amazing. Whatever work she’s had on her face isn’t overdone and she looks natural with great makeup.

  49. skibunny says:

    Love the dress! Beautiful girl!

  50. katie says:

that dress is hideous. the color’s awful and she needs to dress her age- it’s too short and too tight. i can’t believe anyone likes this

  51. I Choose Me says:

I love the dress and she looks fab in it. My only critique is that it could have benefitted from another inch or so. Still – nice legs and her skin looks so fresh and glowy. Hmm…

  52. p3rp3tu4 says:

She looks glowy & fresh, but the dress looks like a roll in the sand with lumpy limpets. The dessert crackle effect looks itchy. The “thing” underneath is showing.

  53. Bek says:

Must say, I think she’s made some less-than-stellar fashion choices in the past, but this dress rocks. I actually really like the nude trend, so long as it doesn’t wash out the wearer. Goopy wore one to madrid a while back, and she looked fab too. Anybody hating on Aniston right now is purely jealous. Plain and simple. She looks like a knock-out in that thing. The pink Lacroix? Great color, not a great fit. But this looks HOT.

  54. lola says:

Love the dress, and her shoes!
