Last year, paparazzi kept getting photos of Brad Pitt out in LA, filming a somewhat secretive project. That project? The sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Tarantino opted out of directing the sequel because QT is fixated on his promise to only direct ten films. Tarantino wrote the sequel though, and he handed it off to David Fincher to direct. When I finally saw OUATIH, I was honestly shocked at how much awards-buzz Brad had gotten for the role of Cliff Booth, a stunt-man/personal assistant/friend to Leo DiCaprio’s character Rick Dalton. In my opinion, Leo gave the much more notable performance, but Hollywood decided that Brad needed an Oscar for that movie, so they gave it to him.
All of which to say… making a sequel about one of the least interesting supporting characters in a Tarantino film is a weird choice all around, but here we are. During the Super Bowl, the trailer for The Adventures of Cliff Booth dropped. Apparently, this is going to stream on Netflix? Another weird choice. The film also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Timothy Olyphant, Scott Caan and many others.
As I watched this, I wondered if David Fincher dusted off his de-ageing technology, the same he used on Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Because what in the world is happening with Brad’s face in this film? He’s going to look younger in the sequel. So, either de-ageing tech is being utilized or this confirms Pitt’s latest facelift (or both). Also: I hate that Hollywood is still all about Brad, even after hearing Angelina Jolie’s side of the story. Even after seeing Brad’s years-long obsession with punishing Angelina for leaving him.

All I got for this is Brad and Kid Rock are looking similar. That’s it and that’s alllol.
According to @DiscussingFilm, Tarantino was a constant presence on set.

I CANNOT imagine Fincher & Tarantino did not clash on this movie direction.
That’ll be the real story.
*Here for anything & everything Elizabeth Debicki does.😍😍
A truly superlative talent.
Nope. Just a hard no. Gross.
None of us knew WTH that was about, half thought it was a new movie, or just a ad for Netflix ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I *did* notice the studio billboard with the “Looking For Mr Goodbar” as we had *just* been talking about when we saw our first “sexy” movie as kids at Friday night’s dinner! OOOEEEOOOO! lol
It’s streaming on Netflix because no studio wanted it. Which is the crazy thing about all of this – Hollywood stands behind Brad (despite knowing what an abusive POS he is). But also know that he can’t carry a film anymore. F1 did well because it was fast cars that go vroom vroom. It would have done well with literally anyone in the role he played. Brad is no longer a box office draw – but Hollywood insists on propping him up like the Bernie in Weekend at Bernie’s.
F1 might have done better without him. I know I’m not the only person who would have loved to go and see it but stayed away to avoid him.
I’m sorry that Fincher decided to do this BS…The ONLY reason I saw the first one was due to being able to see Leo in a role that was MADE for him & to see the perfect time capsule of L.A. during that time period…I hadn’t enjoyed a QT film so much in…DECADES! And after what he said about Dano…will NEVA watch another one! That being said…I wouldn’t see a Pitt led movie since he decimated his family for cold hard cash & I was sad the Manson family didn’t get him in the first one! That role PROVED to me that Pitt’s charm & love affair with the camera is OVA😠
Fincher has a $100million cast-iron exclusive deal with Netflix.

Makes sense cause he was instrumental in their first success, House of Cards.
His record since is mixed. Mank was terrible, but The Killer was excellent.
Curious to see if this sequel brings back Zodiac, Social Network, Fight Club, Fincher, or not.🤔🤔
I thought Fincher was the 🤬until “Mank”…ALL THAT WEALTH OF MATERIAL & THAT STUNNING CAST to end up with we saw! Amanda’s performance was worth it❣️
It’s true….
All 💰 ain’t good 💰
The Killer was SO good. Michael Fassbender was excellent as always, and I loved Tilda Swinton, even though it was a tiny roll.
This looks better than a tarantino film. Im just so over weak scripts that i kinda gave up on new movies.
