Teyana Taylor was a standout in Chanel at the 2026 Oscars

Teyana Taylor in Chanel on the red carpet at the Oscars
It felt like the fashion at the Oscars last night was off somehow, like everything lately. There were some standout looks but nothing that truly blew me away. I’ve only seen one person raving about the fashion and I suspect they’re a bot. Nominee Teyana Taylor was in a formfitting Chanel gown with a sheer bodice panel and a skirt made of layers of black and white feathers. This is the kind of body conscious fashion we’ve seen from her this season, with the exception of her excellent Burberry coatdress at the BAFTAs. She looked banging as usual and this gown is incredible, it’s just not my taste. The top is giving figure skater. That might be why this looked better in motion, like when she went on stage for One Battle After Another’s Best Picture win.

Presenter Nicole Kidman was also in Chanel, in a blush, cream and silver bustier and pencil skirt combo with a feather peplum. She looked like she was having fun and I love her styling. She has great hair people, as I said on one of our recent podcasts.

Best actress winner Jessie Buckley was in this pink and red Chanel gown that would be a standard red carpet gown apart from the glaring color combination. Some of you liked this but I found it gimmicky. I dislike that pepto pink color, especially paired with the crimson bustline. I’ll say something nice – her hair, makeup and jewelry were amazing. I’m also really happy she won. Her performance was heartbreaking and she ran a great campaign.

Presenter Pedro Pascal was getting buzz for shaving off his mustache. He is a beautiful man and while I like him better with facial hair he still looks amazing. He was also in Chanel! I love that he’s not wearing a typical suit.

I dont find Jessie Buckley sympathetic at all but I love this dress on her. It compliments the blond and makes it look so much better (I don’t think blond suits her) and the colors and the material beautiful – the red top part has such a beautiful sheen to it. This will look amazing in photographs.

I love the dress, too. I know that combining pink and red is a no no but I alrways find it striking and interesting.

Pedro is cleanshaven for his role in De Noche opposite Danny Ramirez which just started filming.

He looks great which once again shows how wrong WW2 did him!

I really liked all the Chanel looks. Nicole looks lovely but it looked a little bit like she was trying to hide her face with her hair. I wanted her to brush it back a little bit.

I do prefer Pedro Pascal with facial hair, but I’m certainly not mad at his look despite the weird sea anemone thing tacked to his chest. I also loved Teyana Taylor’s dress, despite the train sometimes looking a wee bit too much like a faux-fur throw rug.

Right? I like my Pedro scruffy but I’ll take him any way he wants. His very presence exudes warmth.

That’s the best Nicole has looked in years! Soft, relaxed, and fresh-That color looks great on her and she really seemed to be enjoying herself. I guess getting rid of the dead weight (aka Keith) really worked!

Every time the camera caught glimpses of Teyana Taylor I adored her hair! She looked so beautiful and her haircut/styling was my favorite of the night.

Pepe Le Pew is all I could think of when I looked at Teyana’s dress lol
