Charlize Theron wore Dior to the ‘Apex’ premiere & addressed her AI comment

Here are some photos of Charlize Theron at last night’s NYC premiere of Apex, a Netflix movie. Charlize is a longtime brand ambassador for Dior, and Dior provided her with this bizarre suited look. This is head-to-toe Dior – Dior jewelry, a dark Dior pantsuit, with a detached white pleated clown collar. The collar was detached from… nothing. Charlize didn’t wear a shirt or sweater or blouse underneath the suit jacket. Hey, if my body looked that great, I would probably go shirtless everywhere too. I loathe the collar though. It would have been a much cooler look without that.

Over the weekend, the NYT released their interview with Charlize, where she spoke in depth about her dark and violent family history, and all of the crazy injuries she’s had over the years. At one point, she spoke about how her dance training was the hardest thing she’s ever done, which led into a conversation about Timothee Chalamet’s mockery of opera and ballet. Charlize said, in part: “Oh, boy, I hope I run into him one day. That was a very reckless comment on an art form, two art forms, that we need to lift up constantly because, yes, they do have a hard time. But in 10 years, A.I. is going to be able to do Timothée’s job, but it will not be able to replace a person on a stage dancing live.” Well, Charlize was asked about that on the Apex red carpet, and she sort of shrugged it off and said she was just talking out of her ass (see below). This is cracking me up so hard because what she said wasn’t even that offensive, and she’s not even really apologizing. It’s very “it is what it is.” Good for her.

I love the suit but yeah that collar is hideous and throws the whole look off. Maybe it looked good on the mannequin. Anyway, doesn’t matter bc if Charlize couldn’t pull that look off, no one could.

And HaHa! Timothee will have to do a lot of azz kissing before he’s forgiven for that boulder-sized blunder!

I like Charlize, and I love her comment here. Own it, move on. I am not AI, and I get to make this movie. Her face is lovely. Like the hair. The collar would have been beautiful with a blouse attached, but it looks like a dog collar. Hate it. I really like that Charlize has become an action actor, as well as everything else she can do. I look forward to her movies, and will watch this one. Just love how she looks here, except for that awful collar. I would have loved the contrast of black and white. But no one is listening to me. I said before, not kidding, where can I write to Timmy and suggest that he get on the boards in tutu and tights and film a mea culpa. He could attempt a jump through the air, fall flat on his face, admit that no, it’s not that easy, and admit that he, also, was talking out of his ass.

I love the collar. It’s weird and hideous and I still love it. I wish the end of the ties were either cut at the waistband or tucked into her waistband, but otherwise – fuck it. Go wild.
