I totally forgot that today is Prince Louis’s birthday. It always sneaks up on me! Princess Charlotte’s eleventh birthday is coming up on May 2nd as well, not to mention Prince Archie’s seventh birthday coming up in two weeks’ time.
Anyway, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a new birthday portrait of Louis on their social media. The photo was taken by Matt Porteous, because the palace has seemingly convinced Kate to stop releasing her own manipulated photos of her family after the Mother’s Day photo debacle in 2024. The photo was taken on a boat off of the Cornish coast during “a family holiday.” That’s the palace’s guidance on the photo, that the Wales family took a “family holiday to Cornwall” during the Easter holiday. We’ll have to wait and see how much mileage they get from this Porteous photoshoot – perhaps Charlotte’s birthday photo will be from the same holiday. Same with William’s Father’s Day photo.
Something to keep your eye on in the coming weeks is that William and Kate still haven’t announced which school Prince George will attend for his next school year. Will and Kate have been fighting over George’s education for more than two years, and Kate is seemingly incandescent with rage at the thought of packing up either of her sons and sending them to Eton. I’ve always said that if George goes to Eton, it’s very likely that Kate gets her way on Louis and Charlotte’s education though. Still, she’d prefer to send all of her kids to her alma mater, Marlborough.

I think it might be that Louis actually has the Windsor look predominant and less ‘Spencer’ in his features than his siblings. Charlotte looks very much like William and that’s the ‘Diananess’ of them both. George has that, to a lesser degree, too. Louis, not so much.

I saw recent photos of them side by side still strong resemblance with Louis and George. Didn’t see much of a resemblance with Charlotte though I’ve seen others suggesting she resembles Pippa. W was credited as the photographer of the infamous mother’s day photo by KP on their social media accounts. I think that was the first and only time W published a photo that he’d taken of his wife and kids.

It will be interesting to see if we’re going to get ocean background shots, in the other kids photos this year. It’s so funny to me how they seem to just have a photo shoot and just dole those pictures out for the rest of the year.
My guess is they went to Cornwall during one of the shorter school breaks, or on a long weekend or something. They definitely haven’t spent the last 3 weeks in Cornwall, lol.

It was a really long spring break and they had to go to the Easter service. So I wonder if they stayed in the uk till Easter and then went somewhere warm directly after. Bc they def had gotten sun when we saw them yesterday. Or this was taken earlier in the year.

The fact that they write/inform that they were in Cornwall on holiday, at Christmas, and that they took a photo of Louis by the water, only means that somewhere, sometime, a photo of him was taken by some water, which, surprisingly, is the only one in a long time that isn’t a photoshopped photo. Perhaps he wasn’t spending time with WK at the time, which is why it was possible.

So in this instance – sure, this picture might not be from a three week stay in Cornwall (NO ONE here thinks that) but its definitely fairly recent (we know because we saw Louis at Easter) and its on a beach in colder weather. So maybe Norfolk, maybe Cornwall, maybe France, etc.

I think we can all agree that they are parsimonious with the truth. But the best defense to their lies is for us not to descend into lies ourself. So saying things like 100% of their photos are fake, and to use examples of what is ” known” by using unnamed sources just diminishes our argument.

My claim that almost 100 percent of WK’s photos are manipulated, that they’re actually collages, isn’t based on any anonymous sources, but on my own eyes. These “photos” are created so clumsily that, in my opinion, any savvy, observant person can see it if they want to, but for a professional – and I am one it’s so obvious it’s embarrassing. Fragments of a third leg/arm, a disproportionate head, fragments of nonexistent clothing, shadows of individuals from different times of day, a “today” family photo with children, where the growing teeth are from a few months ago because the baby is glued on, and so on.
You can’t argue with the facts… but you definitely want to ignore them and bend them to suit your own narrative. By writing – “…claiming that they must be lying, speculating that they did something in the past, so they must have done it this time…” – you are twisting reality to such an extent that I wonder what purpose it serves.
It’s not about “something they did in the past” but about the fact that , Kate and William lie, falsify, manipulate all the time, 24/7, and it takes a great deal of desperation or bad will to pretend that this is not the case and to ignore these deceptions.

It’s the light and the color of the sea – Greek light is brighter and more yellow and the sea is more clear and aqua. I suppose they could have changed the colors, but I don’t see why.
Eurydice, it all depends on the time of day and weather conditions. A yacht at sea, approaching evening, and you have exactly the light as in the photo. Add to that a tight frame, and you can write anything you want.

If William and Kate weren’t so desperate for good press and were in a stronger position at the time, they could have gotten a better deal for photos of their children. If they were truly concerned about the children’s privacy, they would not have agreed to annual birthday photos. Turning eight is not a milestone and we just saw Louis two weeks ago.

Charlotte definitely got Willy’s teeth, otherwise she does look a lot like pippa. Louis has a similar look to charlotte, but with better teeth/jaw. I thought George looked like grandfather Middleton till i saw a photo of charles Spencer – kind of a similar look there as well.
Totally thought the same thing about resembling Andrew. Both Louis and Charlotte seem to have inherited that Windsor jawline.

Wondering if Katie and Willy were even vacationing together for most of the 3 1/2 weeks they were gone. It will be interesting to see if other “Cornwall” photos emerge of the happy family and/or the happy couple, the way they seem to do a photoshoot every spring and use the pics for the rest of the year, including on their Christmas card.
Agree with posters above, this was probably just a mini-break in Cornwall, to recover from the Easter church service and the stress of hitting Courchevel or Mustique. No way they got their tans in Cornwall. But a Cornwall mini-break would have suited perfectly for capturing the 2026 family photo collection.
I think little Louis looks a lot like Grandpa Middleton, just as I think George is a Spencer. Charlotte? Maybe Grandma Carole.

@Laura, Charlotte has always reminded me of an attractive William. The still of Louis as the video begins is the first time I’ve seen any resemblance to William; usually I just see Kate’s dad. I agree with George as Spencer. Some pictures remind me of Diana’s brother.
One thing Kate has done for William & the Windsors is to have attractive, seemingly nice kids.
Charlotte George and Louis have pronounced middleton features. Louis looks like James middleton when he was a child. I worry about how the children react to how their parents shun the sussexes. They are at an age when they would ask questions

I’ve always found Lou to be the best looking of the 3 kids, ever since he was a baby. Both his facial features as well as a certain sparkle he seemed to have (less so as he’s grown, but he looks happier in this photo than in any I’ve noticed in along time). He doesn’t look like Lazy K exactly, but definitely more Middleton than Willy’s side. The other 2 seem to be more of a combo.
All three children have pronounced Middleton features, I don’t see a trace of the Windsors or Spencers ie no royal or aristocratic blood is apparent. That may change of course as they get older. Let’s hope they’re having a happy childhood.
Lovely pictures of a happy rapidly growing Louis. I wonder if we should expect videos of each of the children’s birthdays this year. Maybe a slightly longer one for George. As someone has already mentioned, they could feature different places in the UK. They could even do it after the fact. It might help local businesses. William and Kate never seem to do anything that brings any benefit to anyone except themselves.

I have a question.. are few years ago there was a huge issue with sewage at many beaches and Cornwall beaches were mentioned in articles and news often for being contaminated.. are they now safe to swim in for young children? If that is where this was filmed..

Yep, I found this genuinely shocking. It’s a completely disjoined short video when allegedly the Wales are so concerned with keeping their kids’ sense of normality and privacy. Very weird, except when you place it in competition with the Sussexes.
Do you think the kids get bored by the constant holidays? I mean, it’s hardly the way to instill a work ethic — and it’s removed from the reality of normal family life.
Can assure you my kids never get tired of going on trips, and we all enjoy the together time when we are away from our usual roles and demands (my kids are so busy with friends and activities when we are home!)

How are their kids going to learn how to balance work and relaxation? My kids loved our trips, too, but we didn’t take a half-dozen vacations a year.

I do believe the Wales love their children, and I am glad that the children look healthy, at least physically. I hope for them that they make it through the family they were born into, and come to live a healthy and fairly happy life. Going to be some tall kids.
I love the video. I have one serious child and one wild child, and I like that the HRHs released a video of their wild one acting like a wild kid does. He seems happy and healthy when he isn’t being dressed and posed for the media.
Re Louis looking like young Prince Andrew, I don’t see it. He looks like Grandpa Middleton and the least Windsory out of the 3 (Charlotte is her dad’s clone). He’s a cute kid and he clearly has Harry’s mischievous personality and sense of fun. But googling photos of young Andrew made me see the resemblance between him and Eugenie for the first time. She looks a lot like he did when he was in his 30s (her current age).
And I didn’t pay attention to the Easter photos but wow George had a growth spurt! He’s almost as tall as Kate now!
Looks like an adorable kid. All the best to him, happy birthday, and may he blow out sparkly candles. But there is a bigger dilemma that puts all this into perspective: the british monarchy is so top-heavy and overfunded and tabloid driven that at some point, something’s got to give. I mean. You cannot live a billionaire lifestyle whilst your coverage comes from people who read the Sun. It’s too wild a mashup. Hope he has a fun birthday. The parents give him a cake without fighting. Probably a party at the weekend with Kate’s relatives and a few suitable friends. Louis looks just like Kate in side by side pictures and so does George with lighter hair. Charlotte is the only one that looks like William to me . The boys look like Kate even more than Michael Middleton. Look at old pictures of her.
Look I’m sure they went on a nice luxurious vacation that the press knows about and will hide unless they wish to bring it up. They post videos in Cornwall to look like they’re vacationing close to home. The press is there to make them look better. The idea of them staying at home for 3 weeks when I was tired watching them vacation last year when she was recovering is unlikely. They could and should vacation more in the UK. Some lovely but chilly places. To me.
