Last April, a Louisiana bachelor was looking for a girlfriend and decided to swing for the fences. No, he didn’t go on a reality TV show. The man, Jeff Seeger, tried a more local approach. He rented out a billboard advertising himself as “Ascension’s Most Eligible Bachelor,” referencing his hometown in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. The billboard, which was over I-10, had his face on it and the headline, “Single woman? Here’s a sign! Date Jeff.”
While Jeff’s stunt queen move got points for creativity, he ultimately ended up dating a woman named Robin Caronna, whom he met on Hinge. Thanks to that dating app, they were instant best friends before starting to casually date. Well, one thing led to another, and now Jeff and Robin’s story has a happy ending: In early May, they got engaged! In honor of their engagement, People spoke to both of them to get some good details about their relationship timeline.
In April 2025, Jeff Seeger decided to put himself out there — in a big way — with a billboard advertising himself as “Ascension’s Most Eligible Bachelor.” Alongside a huge photo of his face, the electronic billboard towering over Interstate 10 read, “Single woman? Here’s a sign! Date Jeff.”
While hundreds of people drove past his smiling face every day, Seeger, 35, ended up finding love on Hinge when he and Robin Caronna met for lunch in Prairieville and ended up spending 12 hours together — although they were initially convinced they were better as friends.
“I didn’t want to get rid of her,” Seeger told The Advocate as he recalled their first date. “We kept getting to know each other.”
While Caronna, 32, described their outing as “super laid back,” it was then that she found out her date was Prairieville’s “Most Eligible Bachelor.”
Over the next few months, the pair continued to see each other frequently. They went to concerts together, ran races, hiked trails and even took a few road trips.
“I liked that he was driven and had his businesses,” Caronna said. “He was super motivated. He was very intentional. That was my favorite thing about him.”
On May 2, Seeger decided that it was time to take the next step in their relationship. So, he brought Caronna to see the sunrise during one of their trips to Denver and popped the question.
“It was perfect,” Caronna recalled. “Jeffrey got on his knee, and it was beautiful. I forgot the sunrise was even there.”
“I knew probably four months ago that I was ready, which is so cool,” she continued. “I’ve had long relationships in the past. When you know, you know. We were just a couple months in, and I was like, ‘This is what I’ve been looking for.’ ”
Alongside a video of the sweet proposal, Seeger echoed Caronna’s sentiment, emphasizing that “every moment” of their lives has been leading them “straight to each other.”
“When you know, you know,” he wrote on Facebook. “Excited to spend our lives together, loving, laughing, building, making memories, and leaving behind our legacy. Denver will always be special to us, it’s also where we became Boyfriend and Girlfriend and now Fiancé!”
As for how he announced their engagement to the rest of the world? In true Seeger fashion, he advertised their big news with another billboard that read, “Ascension’s Newest Ineligible Bachelor.”
“Will You Marry Me?” the sign continued alongside two photos of the couple’s proposal. “She Said Yes!”
This is actually so endearing. I believe that if you put something out into the Universe, it will manifest back to you. It’s been 19 years since my last first date. I know that the times have changed, but no matter how you meet someone, the same basic rules of interpersonal engagement apply. As someone who met their partner in a very unconventional way, I am a true believer that sometimes, the Universe takes matters into its own hands. Even though the billboard didn’t ultimately end up being what brought Jeff and Robin together, he still ended up with a partner. I hope it works out for both him and Robin, and that they have a long, happy life together.

I am happy for them both. He seems like a sweet guy. And I do agree with things manifesting if you put them out there. Thanks for a nice story (in such short supply these days)!
