Well, some major celebrities and models finally turned up at Cannes over the weekend. This year’s Cannes Film Festival was not very front-loaded as far as glamour and star-power, which is pretty unusual. Most years, the biggest celebrities turn out for the first few days and then the festival runs out of steam. I wonder if the festival’s sponsors are doing something different this year. Anyway, Cate Blanchett was out and about in a variety of looks. This one, at the Garance premiere, was Givenchy. It was probably her most attention-getting look (so far). The floral, the fringe, the gloves. Yes, those are giant gloves with fringe. I mean… I hate this. I hate this because I know she could do so much better.

Here’s Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, making an increasingly rare public appearance together. Alicia is still under contract with Louis Vuitton, I guess, and LV continues to give her some of their worst and/or plainest looks.

Bella Hadid is a regular at Cannes (she’s contractually obligated) and she turned up this year with her brother Anwar as her date. Her icy blue gown is Prada and it’s not great. It’s like I said with Blanchett – I know Bella can do much better than this messy prom dress.

Julianne Moore was honored at the annual Kering event at Cannes this year, and she walked the carpet for a premiere as well. Julianne’s white, feathered look is Bottega Veneta (that was from the Kering event). Her red gown is also Bottega Veneta.
