Princess Beatrice was seen visiting Eton, presumably for her 10-year-old stepson?

When Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, she became a stepmother. Edo already had a then 4-year-old son, Wolfie, with Dara Huang. In the years since Edo and Beatrice’s wedding, Wolfie is often welcomed at royal or semi-royal events, like Christmas at Sandringham or the Princess of Wales’ annual Together at Christmas concert. In fact, Wolfie is brought out in public much more often than Beatrice’s daughters Sienna and Athena. I’ve never seen either of the girls, but Wolfie gets to go to public events with Edo and Bea. Well, now there’s a rumor that Edo and Bea are looking at Eton for Wolfie’s eventual boarding school. Hm.

Sources tell me Princess Beatrice was seen at Eton College earlier this month, eyeing a potential school for her stepson Wolfie, now ten.

It raises the possibility of him being at the all-boys school at the same time as his second cousin George, who [following] in his father’s footsteps.

That possibility seems closer after rumours an Eton boarding house has been redecorated to accommodate George’s security staff spread on parents’ WhatsApp groups.

Eton will be handy for Bea, 37, as it is just over an hour from the £3.5 million Cotswolds mansion she shares with her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi, who is Wolfie’s father, and their daughters Sienna, four, and Athena, one.

Wolfie, who Bea calls her ‘bonus son’, is already at school in the UK after his mother, Florida-born architect Dara Huang, feared for his safety in the US amid a spate of school shootings.

[From The Daily Mail]

One, Prince George and Wolfie Mozzi are not really “second cousins.” They would be if Beatrice was Wolfie’s mother. They’re step-second cousins or something. Two, Wolfie is only ten! I understand that well-to-do parents obsess about which posh private boarding school to send their children to, and it seems reasonable that Edo, Bea and hopefully Dara are all exploring their options. But stop hyping this as “George and Wolfie could go to Eton at the same time!” They’re three years apart in age, and Wolfie wouldn’t even attend Eton until 2029 at the earliest. Anyway, I find it odd that Beatrice visited Eton without Edo or Dara.

    Would not D a r a be doing this

Yeah, this would be a big no-no in the family dynamic of blending and shared custody. It is the mother who should be doing these visits, not the stepmother, and the child should accompany the parent on these trips. That’s the whole point: so the child can see what kind of school it is. FWIW AFAIK Eton applications are due by the child’s 10th birthday so this would track with the timeframe.

D a r a is the mother and she and Edo share custody
She should have more input than Beatrice.. Edo should respect that. I hope d a r a is seen at eton

We don’t know if Edo or Dara were or weren’t there. Just another way the tabloids blame games and try to whip into a frenzy. They aren’t mentioned at all.

Beatrice may be touring so Wolfie has a better chance of getting in

    • Tessa says:

Yes but there is her father…

This is @CWS, this has no bearing on the child’s prospect of admission. A stepmother taking a tour is the last thing that would weigh in the balance with the committee that determines who gets a place.
