It’s still pretty amazing that Joe Alwyn was the one ex who managed to disentangle himself from Taylor Swift without a massive amount of Snake Fam backlash or backlash from Taylor herself. While Taylor has absolutely referenced their relationship in her music – in some unflattering ways as well – Joe never took the bait and he seemingly never took it personally. People always bring up the fact that both of his parents are psychologists/therapists, and I would be willing to bet that was a factor – he likely got advice from his folks about how to handle a problem like Taylor. It explains why they never married too, when you really think about it. Since their 2023 split, Joe has worked steadily and kept the gossip about his personal life to a minimum. Well, he just stepped out with another American woman, someone on the rise with her own significant heatscore: Sarah Pidgeon.
Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend of six and a half years was spotted stepping out with “Love Story” star Sarah Pidgeon in New York City.
Pidgeon — who played style icon Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in the recent hit FX series — was “allegedly spotted in Fort Greene [Brooklyn] last night [Wednesday]” with the “Hamnet” actor, according to Deuxmoi.
However, the gossip blog’s post noted, “When Sarah was spotted with Jake Gyllenhaal it was later learned they were about to film a project together 👀.”
Reps for Alwyn and Pidgeon did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Friday evening.
Fans couldn’t help but sound off in the comments section, where one person quipped, “We about to get an album from Taylor.”
Another wrote that Alwyn and Pidgeon would “be gorgeous together 😍,” while a third chimed in, “Obsessed with Taylor. But this works. Good for them.”
I don’t really have a sense of Sarah or her dating life. Reportedly, she dated an Aussie guy for a few years, but she’s another one who maintains a wall of privacy really well. If Sarah and Joe are dating, they probably won’t be seen together again, ever! Joe really has a thing for tall blondes, I guess? Their ages make sense – she’s 29, he’s 35. I could see it. I hope they’re happening.
PS… Sarah Pidgeon took part in Variety’s Actors on Actors series and revealed that she had no idea who Jimmy Stewart is/was. As it turns out, she’s just terrible with names? Like… Jimmy Stewart though???

I don’t know if his parents being therapists means anything good. One of the more dangerous people I met in my 20s was the child of two psychologists, and he was a covert narcissist. He hid behind religious stuff really well.
Anyway, Joe’s allowed to date again, pretty sure. It’s interesting he’s dating someone else who has a public career. I wonder if he maintains his “can’t support girlfriend publicly” policy or if he’ll do what Chris Martin did, where he went from hiding his relationship with his more famous wife to being fine being seen with his less famous (younger) girlfriend. I always got Chris Martin vibes from him.
Quite a few therapists are narcissists (daughter of narcissist therapists) and we “inherit” that narcissism until we see that it doesn’t serve us and head to a non-narcissist therapist for treatment!) I suspect, though, that Joe’s silence rather than centering himself, means his parents have given him at least a few good skills 🙂

Also, Stewart went by Jimmy IRL, but he was credited on screen as James Stewart, so I can totally see the confusion. Also, I don’t remember actors names unless I’ve seen them in a few things and read about them somewhere. There’s a lot of actors and only so much brain.
