Chris Brown throws a tantrum during radio interview

R&B bad boy Chris Brown shows off his spindly ankles as he leaves the Staples Centre after the Lakers game

We haven’t been hearing all that much from Chris Brown as of late. He’s been doing his community service, he’s been defending Tiger Woods, and he’s been trying to get people to listen to his music. That last activity is probably the funniest, because it seems that Chris’s new-ish album (he released it several months ago) pretty much sank without a trace. Chris doesn’t know how to handle himself when no one gives a sh-t about him. He’s already begged his fans for more support. And now he’s being an asshat to some deejay who just trying to interview him.

Chris called in to Q94 in Virginia yesterday, and when the deejay was trying to help Chris promote his concert – to benefit Haiti – Chris laid into the deejay for not playing his songs:

Chris Brown: “I Love You” that’s rocking right now.
DJ Kash: Oh with Ester Dean?
Chris Brown: Yeah with Ester Dean. S**t rocks.
DJ Kash: Word? I was actually thinking about making that my pick of the day.
Chris Brown: Yeah but what I’m saying is y’all don’t play my s**t.
DJ Kash: Yeah we do, but that’s just not even impacting on the charts. Is it even anywhere on the charts?
Chris Brown: Yeah.
DJ Kash: What number is it at?
Chris Brown: What number is it at? It don’t matter though so…why am I even doing this interview? F**k it I ain’t doing this s**t.
[Chris hangs up.]

I love that the deejay was all “What number is it at [bitch]?” I used to work at a radio station, and while many deejays do get to show their musical preferences partially, for the majority of their time, they are obligated to play the mandatory “top songs/albums” playlist. Unless of course it’s a classic rock station or something. So, more likely than not, the deejay couldn’t play Chris’s album because it wasn’t on the “playlist”. But I digress. Bark Bite Blog summed up Chris’s problem: “His sense of entitlement is suffocating. It’s incredible that despite all of the hurdles Chris has faced after his felony conviction, his ego maintains its gargantuan size. Radio doesn’t OWE him support, he has to earn it. And cursing out a DJ isn’t gonna get him more spins on anyone’s station. His poor record label, JIVE, had to call afterward to apologize for Chris’ toddler-like temper tantrum to boot. If Chris wants to be treated like an adult, he needs to act like one.”

Thanks to LaineyGossip for the heads up!

  1. I love this, dude. He is too much, but I like him. I always think that if I could hang with him and Nelly at the same party we would get shit faced and have a f-cking blast! Only now I am thinking that me and Nelly would wind up leaving Chris at the club and heading to another party because he might be a bit of a spoiled downer…

  2. Whatever says:

It’s called KARMA bitch. You beat the hell out of your girlfriend and then act like YOU are the victim, with no real remorse and people should line up to buy your music? Please. Suck it Chris!

  3. sonola trip says:

Your lawyer got you a sweetheart deal, Chris, but now you’re facing the court of public opinion …. and they’re handing you your ass.

  4. Naye in VA says:

His cursing is too much. He didnt even practice hum, itlity after his sentencing. He threw together an album and said “listen to my “sh#$” ughh why. if his fans are teenagers he needs to work more on appealign to them. He has to start from scratch and he doesnt understand that. He thinks being Chris Brown will carry him.

  5. Joseph says:

He put the “D” in “D-Bag”!

  6. lucy2 says:

He keeps digging himself a deeper hole. He doesn’t get that many people don’t like him, and don’t want to support him. He does play the victim, and I very much agree that he seems to feel entitled to all this. He should just be quiet, work when he can, and be grateful he still has any fans or gets any attention whatsoever.

  7. Iggles says:

    Haha!

Sit down little boy! Got schooled with cold hard facts of the business. This ain’t no charity nor do you have the means to pay for play.

    ROTFLMAO…

  8. Jaded says:

Hahahaaaaa!!! This guy is such laugh, this made my day. I love it when people act like total dickwads without realizing it, it’s unintentionally hysterically funny. Maybe princess should start a stand-up comedy act – his character could be a whiney, self-obsessed, talentless pansy. Oh wait, he really is like that…never mind.

  9. Zoe says:

Chris Brown just continues to dig his grave, and I’m encouraging it. Someone this dumb deserves the fury of what he’s created.

  10. WTF?!? says:

    @Sonola trip:

    Perfectly stated.

  11. Katija says:

I remember when he was on The OC and making records like, “Forever” and “With You” and thinking, OK, wow. This kid is EXACTLY what the music scene needs. A kid who makes awesome R&B/hip-hop tracks and is also a great role model for young men.

Wow. Just wow. Either the music industry destroyed a nice young man, or he was just a wolf in sheep’s clothing all along. Probably the latter.

  12. buckley says:

hahaha…keep digging that hole jackass. Pretty soon it will be deep enough for you to disappear into it.

  13. jover says:

Lets see – in a few years will we see him in the unemployment line, the welfare line, or maybe on the outstanding arrest warrants on the local newspaper. Do these guys have any brains at all?

  14. kili says:

gee, what a surprise, the imature baby acting like an imature baby. someone really needs to grow up and act like a man, what a little brat.

  15. Tia C says:

Hilarious. I’m literally happy that this is happening to him. Karma is a wonderful bitch.

  16. Gwen says:

What Tia C said. Maybe it’s mean of me to enjoy another person’s misery, but in this case I will forgive myself.

  17. GatsbyGal says:

Hahahaha, no one cares about him anymore. Not one fucking soul.

  18. westender says:

As Micheal K likes to call the show, Chris Brown will in the future appear on a episode of “Dancing with the Has Beens” !

  19. OMG! Could you see it! Dancing with the “Stars” with Chris Brown. Every week (meaning until the first vote at which point he is gone) they will have to be like, “Um, Chris, you have to listen to the coach and your partner this was a Samba not a Michael Jackson tribute. Oh, and next time don’t sing.”

  20. Tia C says:

It is mean to enjoy another person’s misery Gwen, but in this case, I think we get a pass… 😉

  21. gen says:

    I don’t get him at all. I think he’s a douche & I don’t even like his music. I can’t wait till his 20 minutes is up (I’m nice, I gave him an extra 5 minutes 🙂

  22. Sincerity says:

I really hate to kick a brotha when he’s down but Chris Brown must be smoking some “serious crack”! This fool is completely out of touch with reality. His problem stems from being successful too early on in his career and now he believes he’s entitled to “bask in the glow of stardom” forever. He really needs to undergo some serious counseling before he really gets into trouble. The next time, he won’t be as lucky. Doing some “hard time” behind bars and being gang raped in the process may bring him down to earth!

  23. Dhavy says:

There’s a big difference between confidence and arrogance. Unfortuntely for us, Kanye West made it cool to be an arrogant asshole, so the biggest jerks out there followed trend. The sad part is that Chris Brown is not that talented to be thinking that way of himself. I hope his money runs out and ends with him working at McDonnald’s. That’ll teach him some humility-Don’t bite the hand feeds you bitch!

  24. canadianchick says:

    Boofrickinghoo Chris. Grow up dude.

  25. maj says:

Well think of the good news-you prove that even “little people” like a DJ, as in Kash, has more sense and humility than a “star”

    Get over yourself-
