Chris Brown begs fans to help him revive his career

Chris Brown Progress Report Hearing
Chris Brown is no longer on Twitter, but he’s still online and is trying to rally his fans for support. Brown is promising everyone that he’s changed and says it’s time that radio stations started playing his music again. The convicted batterer recorded a message on his SayNow page asking that his fans help him get airplay. This is the same guy who told the music industry to kiss his ass. Now that they’re doing that, he realizes that his “fantasy factory” won’t run on wishes alone.

“I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans. I don’t know what else to say. It’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy. It’s on ya’ll. My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll. Peace”.

I was all ready to roll my eyes and say the kid doesn’t deserve a chance – I still don’t think he does – but his message sounded sincere to me. Kaiser and many of you are sure to take me to task for saying that, but I think the kid just really yearns for the level of success he had before he choked, bit and punched the living daylights out of his famous girlfriend. I doubt that’s every going to happen for him, and rightfully so. He’s complying with the terms of his probation and has been praised by a judge for keeping up with his community service requirements. That’s something. He still pissed away more opportunities than most of us will see in a lifetime. He treated the woman he supposedly loved like a punching bag and left her there for dead. He can plead all he wants but he did this to himself. He’s still got fans, though, and some are likely to heed his pathetic call for help.

  1. Kaboom says:

Why would a judge praise a felon for fulfilling the community service hours he’s been sentenced to? Does that judge bake cupcakes for killers who don’t try to escape from prison, too?

  2. Len says:

Don’t feel sorry for him AT ALL. Actually, I’m loving it. Keep ingnoring him everyone.

  3. Jess says:

He just needs to go ahead and get a job at McDonald’s or Wendy’s. Just not Chick-fil-a. I eat there with my kids a lot.

  4. Zelda says:

“My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are.”

This IS just a rewording of “I don’t make music for the sake of music, but for fame. I need to be famous again.” Right?

Oh I am LOVING watching this smug little f*cker fail…

  5. lastwordlinda says:

My sister works with battered women. She says very few men that beat up women ever change. Even when they go to anger counselling, if they are in a group, they counsel each other on ways to get away with it and what not to do so that they can’t get in trouble. So, having said that, I believe that, given the right circumstances, Chris Brown would do the same thing all over again. It takes a certain weird kind of rage to be able to beat the living daylights out of anyone, let alone someone you profess to love.

  6. Praise St. Angie! says:

Zelda, you distilled (very aptly) what he said down to it’s essence, and you are correct.

    oh, and this…

“I ain’t never really did this”?

he needs English lessons as well as anger management counseling.

  7. isabelle says:

Hey, another a-hole (I’ve just been commenting on Tiger Woods).

  8. Linda says:

I don’t feel sorry for him at all – he beat the loving shit out of another human being and got off with community service – he should be grateful that he didn’t see a prison cell!!!

I’m glad that people are letting him know that what he did was not acceptable – the court of public opinion standing up against this asshole! Finally – we should do it more often to people like Chris Brown!

  9. SolitaryAngel says:

Ditto, Linda! It’s time we the people starting pronouncing our own punishment on those that are rich and famous (or infamous) enough to think that the laws don’t apply to them and hit them right where it hurts—the $$. This fucker makes me sick but I have to say, this post made my week. Keep crawling like the little worm you are, Chris Brown!

  10. funnygirl says:

It’s all about $$ and he’s trying to find the magic words that are going to start bringing the cash in…He doesn’t want to do mixtape stuff…lol cuz there’s no money in that!! What a d*ckhead!!!

  11. Lisa says:

I’m sorry, but I’ve got no sympathy for abusers. Actually, I’m not sorry about that. He, and his career, deserve to sink.

  12. snowball says:

He has to blame it on the evil radio stations not wanting to play his music because he’s been blackballed for beating up Rihanna.

Could it just be that his music sucks?

Has he done any videos for this album, anyone know? I rarely watch VH1 or MTV anymore, but when I have watched in the early morning, I haven’t seen him anywhere.

  13. dd says:

    what a douche.

  14. melG says:

Has it occured to this stupid boy that he got no airplay because his album sucked? He beat up his gf, issues a bull sh*t apology and lame music, then tells the music industry to kiss his ass!! Gosh he is so far up his own ass…. Chris, u made your bed now lay in it or at the very least grow up!!!!

  15. Iggles says:

He has a new movie coming out called “Takers”. It has lots of actors I like, such as Michael Ealy, Zoe Saldana, Ibris Elba, Hayden Christensen, T.I., etc. I saw the promo for it when I saw “The Book of Eli”.

I couldn’t help but to roll my eyes. I’m boycotting this movie. I refuse to support a movie that is connected to this little jerk in any capacity — even as an extra — let alone a starring role!

Hope that this movie bombs. However, if it doesn’t I hope it doesn’t lead to the “redemption” of Chris’s career. Ugh!

  16. Hum says:

Not justifying his actions at all, but everyone deserves a second chance and maybe a third. Who hasn’t made mistakes?

What is the difference between him and charlie sheen?

  17. KerBer says:

Kaboom: hahahaha that had me spitting out my iced tea all over my desk. Thanks for the laguh! 🙂

Zelda: You are %100 correct. If he really was doing it just for the music, he would have no problem being an underground mixtape artist. I love how he seems to think that he is better than them. This kid needs to grow up already.

  18. Stella says:

Hum- there is no difference between Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen- they are both scum that should be ignored and dropped by their fans.

Personally, I’m shocked and disgusted that Charlie Sheen hasn’t been dropped by his network and that more people aren’t calling for a boycott of him. I can’t believe he is getting away (again!) with his pathetic tactic of blaming, discrediting and publicly humiliating his victims. It’s very sad that he is able to get away with this over and over again. I’m sure if Chris Brown had been in the industry for as long, had the same caliber of handlers and PR people and had the same family connections as Charlie that he wouldn’t have had such a severe backlash and would have survived his ‘scandal’ the way I’m sure Charlie will survive his.

Charlie Sheen only exemplifies what happens when you give an abuser a second and third chance… they just keep doing the same thing! All of these people should be boycotted.

  19. KerBer says:

Hum: In order to be forgiven, You should first show remorse for your actions. the only thing that he is sad about is the fact that he got caught. He has never taken resposibility just claimed that it was something that took over him. Liek he had no way of stopping it fromhappening. Please. and Charlie? ugh. He is disgusting and in no way deserves a second…or 100th chance but since he is on a (horrible, but) highly watched TV show, he can get away with it more easily. It’s sad. They should both be in Jail.

  20. bellaluna says:

Hum – The difference is this: if Charlie Sheen had been made to pay for his actions at Chris Brown’s young age, maybe he wouldn’t be the colossal asshole he is now. Charlie Sheen has gotten away with this kind of behaviour for over 20 years now, and I kinda think it’s because he was never called on the carpet for it (by his fans as well as the courts) when he first started to act like this! If he had been, how different his story may have been.

  21. sonola trip says:

    Oh, the grammar!

What an incredibly incoherent jumble of words.

  22. Rhea says:

I do not feel bad for him at all.

I was visiting VCU in Richmond where he has to do his community service, and he’s been acting a douche there, hitting on every girl shamelessly.

  23. lucy2 says:

No sympathy from me either. If he wanted to continue his music career, he should have thought about that before he did what he did.
Rather than be grateful he had success early on, and that he didn’t have to sit in a jail cell for this, or simply thanking those fans that for whatever reason did stick by him, he’s whining and begging and complaining. It’s pathetic and really kind of gross.

  24. filthycute says:

I watched my father beat my mother up many times as a child. And I wouldn’t buy his sh1tty albums either.

    Rot, Chris Brown.

  25. CB Rawks says:

“I ain’t never really did this”

    SHEESH.

And yeah, why CAN’T he be an underground artist? Does he possibly not love music for music’s sake? I feel so disillusioned and stuff.

  26. Catherine says:

Lets not forget this is the same moron that wore a baby blue bowtie when he went whining to Larry King. Looking (and acting) like a toddler on national tv,indicates he needs to shut up, suck it up, and go away.

  27. moo says:

he has fans??? hahahahahahaha….. that’s a good one!

  28. bubbles says:

.. or he’ll come looking for you, and he knows where you live.

  29. Annicka says:

You don’t deserve it you piece of shit.

  30. Kris says:

Well said, KerBer!! Everyone does deserve the chance to make amends for their previous bad behavior. But the key is that the person must be genuinely remorseful. I have yet to see this stupid kid express genuine remorse for anything other than the fact that his career has been ruined. I watched and listened to every single interview he’s given and NEVER have I gotten the impression that he is truly sorry. Rather, I get the impression that he really doesn’t think he did anything wrong. He’s done nothing but whine and complain about how much this has affected HIM. As if he’s somehow the victim in all this mess that he created. He gets his “second chance” when he finally grows up and take genuine accountability for his actions. I won’t hold my breath.

  31. flourpot says:

The contents of this thread and most of the comments deserver the title
Best. Post. Ever. Karma, Chris. Suck it up, bitch.

  32. Dawn says:

You beat a woman senseless, threaten to kill her, and leave her for dead. Then you excpect folks to buy your music? You tell the powers that be to kiss your ass and when then do, you wanna cry and whine about it?

  33. Carrie says:

    Nope- not interested.
He’s a batterer, and the biggest lesson anyone young person can learn from him is that the fallout for domestic abuse is serious.

  34. Katija says:

“I can’t be an underground mixtape artist.”

Then you should enroll in a tech school and learn a new trade, bucko.

  35. GatsbyGal says:

“…it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist.”

This is crap. You can be an artist and not have any support. If you love what you’re doing, it shouldn’t matter how many people are into it or how much money you’re making.

So he’s pretty much just admitted to only caring about making money for his music. Screw him.

Also @ Hum: In my mind, there’s little difference between the two. I hope they’re both blackballed out of Hollywood and never get work again.

  36. gg says:

    Chris – LEARN ENGLISH!

  37. p3rp3tu4 says:

Yes, Go to college abroad where degrees aren’t given away for mere “attendance”.

  38. AnonPlus says:

    He’s a damn fool.

He will never change. He will abuse another woman again. It’s only a matter of time.

  39. Dani says:

A few days ago I was browsing the web with my 34 year old (black) uncle, when we came across a picture of Chris Brown looking pretty douchey. My uncle went “Oh my god, he looks like he wants to rape me, X out, X OUT!!!”

He used to be a fan, but now he can’t even look at pictures of him without getting disgusted.

  40. Penny says:

I won’t boycott the movie Takers. I don’t think the other actors should suffer for something Chris did after that movie was already filmed in 2008.

I’m a fan of Michael Ealy, Zoe Saldana, Matt Dillon, Idris Elba, Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen. Chris only has a small role in the movie and is not the star.

  41. floodsy malone says:

chris brown- i hope you f**cking rot on the d-list.

  42. Shay says:

    @Dani

Yea he doesn’t look the same to me either. I think it’s a combo of what he did to Riri but also the fact that his teen cuteness has worn off.

  43. Shay says:

I try to make it a point to support celebs that deserve it. I bought Janets CD after the Super Bowl fall out and Kanye’s after “Bush doesn’t like black people” comment. I see no reason to buy Chris Browns CD. Just for the fact that he’s an abusive person. Then to top it he went ski-dooing days after the event like nothing happened. He needs to leave the music industry behind and go to college. Do the mix-tapes he’s so afraid of. If he’s due a 2nd chance it will come but right now it’s not happening.

  44. Robert says:

Boycott Chris Brown and BOYCOTT Roman Polanski! Roman Polanski is an admitted child rapist!

  45. RaraAvis says:

Here’s an idea, Chris – go to school (which you obviously need) and get a real job. The gravy train has ground to a halt for you, douchebag.

  46. Sami says:

I feel I may be attacked for what I’m about to say, so let me put a disclaimer:

I’m a woman. What Chris Brown did to Rihanna was horrible and unforgiveable. I don’t defend his character at all, because I’m not in a place to judge him, knowing only what I do from media outlets. However, I think he was abusive, and does need counseling.

    However,

as an avid fan of hip-hop and r&b music, Chris Brown is incredibly talented, and his music is honestly really good.

Do I think he deserves immediate forgiveness from his fans/ex-fans? No. But… I do think he is young, reckless, and arrogant, and that it’s not too late for him. With counseling, he can break the cycle of abuse enstilled in him as a young child.

Do I like him? No. But I don’t think he should be black-listed. Many rap stars admit to having incredibly violent past (Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Lil’ Wayne, etc.), and yet their music (which I consider not as good as Brown’s) soars to the top with each gang fight.

In addition, I hardly think a comparison between Roman Polanksi and Chris Brown is fair. Chris was abusive, turned himself in, pleaded guilty, served his time. Polanski sodomized a young girl and then fled from his crime for decades until his narcissism got the better of him.

  47. John Doe says:

If we don’t so what he says will he beat us all up?

  48. Yo says:

Well, he shouldn’t have done that. Everyone loves Rihanna. You have to deal with consequences always.
