Brooke Hogan: Nick has not been “physically harmed” in jail

Brooke Hogan appeared on Access Hollywood last night in the first segment in a two part interview, shown below. I expected to feel more pure malice toward her than I did while watching her defend her family’s behavior toward the vegetative victim of her brother’s drunken car crash. As it is, she seemed like a clueless self-absorbed twit. Of course she would defend the inexcusable actions of her family above justice and reality because that’s all she knows. She’s loyal above all else, and while some may call that dumb others find that trait admirable in its single-mindedness.

Maria Menounos asked some pointed questions about Brooke’s family including the one that many of you are clamoring to know: Has Nick been physically harmed in jail?

Brooke says she “almost had a little bit of a breakdown” about her brother and that “my brother and I are inseparable. I’m always used to protecting him.”

As for whether Nick has been physically harmed in jail, she said “not physically harmed, but kids have confronted him about it… he knows how to handle it and basically say[s] ‘back off'”

On the jail releasing Nick’s phone calls while Paris Hilton’s jailhouse calls remained private
She said “I don’t know if legally they’re allowed to do that. Paris Hilton and all these other people haven’t had their tapes released.”

On her father and Nick blaming the victim, John Graziano, for his injuries: “I don’t know about that”
John Graziano will probably remain in a vegetative state for the rest of his life and is literally missing half his skull. In the tapes released by the jail of Nick’s phone calls, and in a follow-up appearance on Larry King, Brooke’s dad Hulk Hogan blamed John for his injuries. Nick had a .05 alcohol level two hours after speed racing on a public street in Clearwater, Florida last August, crashing his high-performance Supra into a tree. Hulk claimed that the resulting injuries to Nick’s passenger, John, were somehow God’s will to make John a “betttr person”

When Menounos asked Brooke about a taped phone conversation between her father and Nick in jail, in which Nick called John “a negative person,” Brooke chalked that up to the fact that Nick is serving 8 months in jail for his crime.

“All I can really say is that he was in solitary confinement. Hardened criminals can’t even stay in there for a couple of days.

“When he’s going crazy over the phone saying ‘I don’t know if I’m going to be able to make it in here’ you just tell him anything tangible that he can attach to.”

Menounos asked “What about the comment about John?”

Brooke, “I don’t really know about that. I just know that my family has total love for John.”

Access Hollywood notes that Brooke is working on recording a new album and on her latest reality show for VH1, “Brooke Knows Best.” One thing Brooke definitely knows is how to blame other people and external circumstances for indefensible behavior by her brother.

Brooke’s parents Nick and Linda are in the process of a divorce which involves inappropriate younger partners for each of them and a lot of accusations on both sides. Brooke’s follow up interview to air tonight will surely focus on that.

    Shame.

This dumb, attention-hungry idiot is now the official apologist for her ignorant trashy father and brother. God, I hate this family.

  2. RaeJillian says:

*commenting without bothering to read anything other than the head line* too bad.

  3. Jill says:

What I find really sad is that way back when it seemed Hulk Hogan started doing the reality show to prove that all “celebrity” families weren’t raising spoiled brats. He was strict and set definite guidelines so his kids wouldn’t fall into the same bad crowds and end up in rehab. Somewhere along the way family took a backseat to fame and that all seem to get lost. That is very sad, not only for them but for the other families it destroyed.

  4. anon69 says:

Last paragraph refers to Brooke’s parents as Nick and Linda-

  5. Syko says:

Exactly my response to the headline – too bad.

  6. Nikki G. says:

well said jill. i think that’s why people are being so hard on them. i know for me when i was growing up, the hulkster was the shit. i didn’t start out hating the hogan family or their show. i did however think that both nick and brooke were extremely deluded in terms of their importance and very unfortunate looking but i didn’t “hate” them. now, i’m DONE with this family.

  7. Kimmy says:

Is it just me, or does Brooke look a lot like Britney in the header photo?

  8. elisha says:

Fry me all you want — and I’m NOT defending the Hogan family, but John DOES have a little responsibility in this. It was certainly 100% unacceptable for the Hogan family to publicy chide him for not wearing a seatbelt. I didn’t pay attention to that comment before, but now that I know he was also riding in the car after Nick had been drinking, he looks a little more responsible for his own condition IMO.

John made the unfortunate desicion to be a passenger in someone’s car who was driving under the influence AND to not buckle his seat belt. I NEVER ride in a car with anyone who’s been drinking and I ALWAYS bubkle my seat belt. Nick is responsible for this but so is John.

The way the Hogans are handling this, however, IS less than savory. And since Nick was in such a serious accident and had been drinking, he definately deserves to be in jail.

I love my country, but I think we as Americans need to start taking more responsibility for our own actions. I’m also thinking of those parents of the cheerleader who died in Hawaii. The 18-year-old was drinking excessively and fell to her death from a balcony. Instead of accepting that their adult daughter was breaking the law by drinking while underage, the parents are blaming the chaperone, who was asleep in a nearby room. They’re suing the chaperone.

I’m not saying John (or even that cheerleader) deserves what happened to him. And I’m not saying the Hogans don’t deserve to pay the Graziano’s medical and other bills. But it SHOULD be a lesson that certain laws, like wearing seatbelts and underage drinking, are in place for a reason, and you should follow them for your own safety.

How is this untalented person even getting interviewed, why? She did a show that exploited her idiot family, and her trashy brother killed someone. John is dead, not physically but he is dead, and Nick should be charged with at least manslaughter for what he did to John. The photos are horrifying – and for Hogan to say it was to make him a better person, is so disrespectful of that family its unreal. All of the trash should just be ignored. White Trash to te extreme.

  10. UrbanRube says:

    I agree 100%, Elisha.

  11. Syko says:

Agreed, Elisha. Working for lawyers, I know how quick everyone is to sue. I’ve had a guy call us who was drunk and actually ran into the side of another car, t-boned it, and he called up wanting to know who he could sue. He was very angry when I told him he couldn’t sue anyone, but he could count on the people he hit suing him.

Things happen. People have accidents. You clumsily spill your coffee and burn yourself, it’s an accident, shit happens, get over it. Get your stilleto heel stuck in a sidewalk grating and fall, your fault, you shouldn’t have walked on the grating in those shoes, get over it. We end up in life with scars and bruises and lessons learned from all these accidents. So many lawsuits are frivolously filed by less-than-scrupulous attorneys, the courts are clogged so that a meritorious case can count on taking 2-5 years to process through the system.

This is not to say that the Grazianos should not be suing. They should. Their son was horribly injured. But it’s just general remarks on a system gone wrong.

  12. Jenna says:

Eh, when is this family going to fall off the face of the earth?

  13. ri23 says:

Regarding the headline, Nick’s fellow inmates should remedy this situation.

  14. G. says:

As a child of lawyers, I know for a fact that if i had done what Nick did, my family wouldn’t stand by me. instead, they would be contacting judges and lawyers to make SURE I spent a good part of my life in jail. Nick deserves much more than he got, he shouldn’t be complaining.

  15. Codzilla says:

I agree that she resembles Britney in the first picture. Bloated, greasy and half-lidded, just like our favorite southern fried fuck up.

  16. vdantev says:

There’s still hope Brooke, and I’m sure you’ll be there in front of the cameras, grease dripping from your pores as you talk about it.

  17. *round of applause for choosing that photo* 😀

  18. What pissed me off is how she tries to make excuses for the comments in the phone calls by saying that because Nick was in solitary confinement, he needed something to cling to. Bitch, there was a former Black Panther who spent nearly four DECADES in solitary confinement only to just have his murder conviction overturned. A man who was innocent of a murder rap spent more time in solitary confinement than I have spent alive, so don’t go talking about solitary confinement being so hard on a person who hadn’t been in for more than a week.

And, by the way, the reason why the phone calls for Paris and co. weren’t released isn’t because it isn’t legal (because I don’t know if it is or not), but because they were probably so mundane that there was nothing worth reporting in the calls.

  19. Syko says:

Not to mention that the little twerp should be GRATEFUL for solitary confinement, because loneliness is always better than Bubba sharing your bunk.

  20. gg says:

I dunno, I kinda think he should know what it feels like to be screwed by Bubba and maybe he might think twice before he hotrods drunk ever again.

  21. Syko says:

I’d have to laugh, that’s for sure.

  22. Nan says:

She bleaches her hair blond & poses in bikinis. That gets attention from SOME people but they shouldn’t be shoving this one down our throats. There are so many more interesting & actually good looking people who should have media attention…not this butterface. A mannish butterface, to boot.

  23. daisyfly says:

    >>On her father and Nick blaming the victim, John Graziano, for his injuries: “I don’t know about that”<<

Sure. Because she’s been living under a rock (her head) this whole time, right?

  24. notsoanonymous says:

I actually might be the only person who feels bad for Brooke, but she honestly seems to be stuck in a hard spot given all the horrible things that have been happening to/around her over the last few years. I feel bad for her (and her alone).

  25. daisyfly says:

I’d have felt bad for Brooke had she said “You know what? Yes. My brother screwed up. He screwed up ROYALLY. He needs to pay the price, he has responsibility to John and his family, and he should and will be held accountable. I love my brother, and it’s because of that that I want him to do the right thing.”

Instead, it’s lie lie, self pity, self pity, lie lie lie.

  26. JB says:

Man she looks extremely old and she’s not very pretty no wonder she’s already a has been!! I think her show is going to be really stupid!!! 😈

  27. kate says:

i wonder if she drinks alot – she is so puffy all the time.

  28. CCM says:

    she’s U-G-L-Y!!!!

  29. badger says:

Excellent post Elisha. I agree with you.

  30. Starr says:

    By Physically Harmed She Means..

    ANALLY RAPED 😀

  31. Mi-Mi says:

Brook is BUTT U-G-L-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y, she looks like a crypt keeper. Much older than what she is.
