I think it’s well established that the London branch of Madame Tussauds has some talented wax artists. Check out this recently completely and eerie wax doppelganger of Kate Winslet at the London Madame Tussauds. The Vegas and NY Branches sometimes churn out some figures that look nothing like the celebrities they’re supposed to be though. So this wax statue of Colin Firth, unveiled at the London Madame Tussauds today, is more accurate than most but not up to the high standards they’ve created at that branch. It looks like Colin’s brother with bad hair. Still, it’s not bad and it does resemble him quite a bit. In a video of the wax figure on The Telegraph’s website, it looks just like him. Colin’s figure will be in the “A-list party area” of Madame Tussauds, and will be standing on a red carpet. The representative from Madame Tussauds said “hundreds of hours was spent watching Colin Firth, which is a great job to have.” That cracks me the hell up. (I wanted to just write “lol!” but I’m trying to be a professional here.) Here’s more:
Colin Firth will take his place in the A-List Party area of the museum where he is joined by waxworks of Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, George Clooney and, this being the festive season, of course Father Christmas.
“Colin Firth has been one of the most popular figures requested at Madame Tussauds and the fact that he won an Oscar at the beginning of this year, we felt it was a great way to round off the year and get him another accolade which was a wax figure,” said Liz Edwards from Madame Tussauds.
Earlier this year, Firth received an Oscar for his portrayal of King George VI in ‘The King’s Speech’. His latest film ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ is also expected to fare well in the upcoming awards season. It was decided that his particular pose should reflect his many red carpet appearances.
“Because he’s in the A-List party area we wanted to capture him walking along the red carpet so this pose is chosen exactly from that as he’s going to an awards ceremony and that’s what we wanted to recreate so hundreds of hours were spent watching Colin Firth which is a great job to have”, Ms Edwards said.

Wax Colin is hot, but as Kaiser mentioned to me his hair does look weird. Still, I would hit it. I mean, if it was real and alive and stuff and not run by computers. Well maybe not the last part. Robot Real Doll Colin Firth would be welcome in my bed. Hopefully they’ll get the accent and the self effacing charm right. Technology has come a long way.
He’s good enough for the real thing! 😉
Something is off — I just can’t put my finger on what it is…
It’s missing the twinkle in his eyes. But it’s one of the best I’ve seen.
Wax Colins face looks fatter than real Colins face. Not by alot, but enough to notice the difference.
I’m getting a David Hasselhoff-vibe for some reason.
There is just no waxy substitute for the alive Colin Firth!
YES! I was going to post a comment that just said, “David Hasselhoff?” but you beat me to it.
You’d think the hair would be an easy fix but yeah, the face is kinda off.
For why wax statues? I don’t get the allure.
I so wish that one day, some of these celebrities will hide in the museum taking some wax’s place and scare the hell out of people. that would be amazing. 20 pounds would be totally worth it then!!!
I would hump that statue so hard UNF!!
There is some resemblance but it’s off. It looks a bit better from the side.
Works for me! 🙂
Its the eyebrows peepz!
“It looks like Colin’s brother with bad hair.”
No, it doesn’t. Jonathan doesn’t look like Colin at all, except maybe the eyes.
And I know you didn’t really mean it that way. 😉
I was going to say it looks exactly like him…then I saw the real thing. Difference? The real Colin makes me smile from ear to ear because he’s so adorably hot. THAT’s what’s missing.
Wow…probably the best one yet.
Wax figures freak me out, but I’d be happy to have that in my home!
