Gwyneth Paltrow’s stylist defends Goop: ‘this girl has taste, this girl has confidence’

If you’ve been following Gwyneth Paltrow’s goopy shenanigans for a while, you understand her pattern of humble-bragging. Goop cannot simply make an affirmative statement about herself and own her narcissism. She couches her self-praise by (more often than not) attributing the praise to a “friend”. All of Goop’s friends think she’s God’s gift to humanity of course. All of Goop’s friends think she has amazing skin, a 22-year-old stripper’s butt, and they all think she has the best diet and lifestyle advice and the best fashion sense. You understand that Gwyneth would never say such things about herself (that would be so peasanty), she’s merely repeating the endless amount of compliments people give her on a daily basis.

Well, during Gwyneth’s endless media tour, there seem to be cracks forming not only in the Goopy veneer, but in public opinion about Gwyneth. I think the Antonio Berardi gown was a Goop Too Far for many people, and then Gwyneth made it worse by claiming she was “humiliated” except she was lapping up the attention and in fact doubled-down on the dress, telling a story about shaving her Goop Muff to wear the dress. Still, I’m sure that everyone around Gwyneth keeps telling her that the dress was fantastic and she looked like a goddess. And thankfully, we don’t have to wait to hear Gwyneth repeat those compliments – her stylist came out and praised her!

Haters gonna hate, but Gwyneth Paltrow is getting the last laugh. The Iron Man 3 actress came under fire this past week after walking the red carpet premiere for her new action flick in a revealing Antonio Berardi dress on Wednesday, Apr. 24. But, according to her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, Paltrow never looked better.

“Not only was it our first choice, it’s [also] beautiful, it’s cool, it’s daring in a no-daring way. Nonthreatening. Elegant,” Saltzman told Us Weekly of Paltrow’s gown, which featured a sheer side panel that revealed the entire length of her leg, from hip to toe. “It looked great on her … it showed off her body. It’s spirit without being vulgar.”

Saltzman also pointed out that Paltrow wasn’t wearing the gown to nab attention — rather, the Goop founder was only “having fun” with the outfit and showing off her healthy, toned body.

“The point is that this girl has taste, this girl has confidence,” the stylist told Us. “And she’s not flaunting anything but the hard work that she’s put into being a happy body, happy person, healthy person. You don’t see a whole lot of false fakeness going on there like some other people. She’s always classic with a twist, classic with an edge.”

Adds a source close to the actress: “She honestly felt it was a beautiful dress! Then she realized she couldn’t wear underwear with it — she tried it on with underwear first and then saw how bad it looked — so she went for it.”

“That’s how Gwyneth is,” the source continued. “She didn’t know it would get such a negative reaction. She thought it was beautiful and fit the event.”

The gown in question was an item from Berardi’s fall/winter 2013 collection, and the actress wore it well, the designer told Grazia magazine. “Gwyneth manages to bridge the gap of glamour and modernity,” he told the magazine. “She makes things look iconic!”

The 40-year-old actress sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show on Friday, Apr. 26, and admitted that she was a bit “humiliated” by the bad press the outfit had garnered. Especially, she shared, because she had a little “disaster” just prior to the red carpet reveal.

“I was doing a show and I changed there and I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV,” Paltrow said with a laugh. “Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor. …I work a ’70s vibe. You know what I mean?”

[From Us Weekly]

I kind of can’t believe we’re still talking about the dress to this point of exhaustion. While I think it’s Goop’s Prerogative to wear whatever she wants, I don’t think any amount of stripper’s ass-kissing is going to make me think the dress was anything BUT vulgar and tacky. But what this interview does reveal – even more revealing than the dress – is that Gwyneth truly does surround herself with sycophants who will praise her every Goop Fart.

All i can say is: this girl has money. but money can’t buy class or taste.

  2. brin says:

This girl needs to go away. Forget most beautiful, she is most annoying.

    • RocketMerry says:

Fun game! Let’s complete that Goop description in more fitting ways!
      My turn:

“This girl really wants you to see how fit and thin her goopy ass is, so you can compare it to yours and weep in humbling shame.”

    • lady mary. says:

ha ha exactly ,someone plz pass GOOP the ANNE HATHAWAY AWARD ( presented annually ,monthly ,as u like to the most ANNOYING ,OBNOXIOUS erstwile celebrities )

  3. Nemesis says:

It’s just plain ugly with or without the ridicules side panels.

  4. DailyNightly says:

    Taste? As if.

  5. neelyo says:

Was this actually a thing? It’s just another ugly dress, who cares?

  6. Sarah says:

“You don’t see a whole lot of false fakeness going on there like some other people” – hehehe, with her its just the REAL fakeness, obvs

    • Lolly says:

That quote stood out for me too.. Are we sure this isn’t the same stylist KStew works with?

    • lulu1 says:

I love the false fakeness comment.
      It’s the best ever.

How are we going to use it, fellocellabitches???

  7. Cleveland Girl says:

All I see is a hideous dress and – don’t hang me for this – but a little bit of cellulite on her tush

    • Sarah says:

Just like a real 22-year-old stripper – don’t you understand, she’s just going for authenticity!

Jokes aside, I think its the cheap fabric which is making her look ever so slightly lumpy.

    • Andrea says:

To be fair, I think part of that is just the reflection from the material.

    • Faye says:

Ditto! I was afraid to say this, but on top of everything else, the dress isn’t even flattering — it makes her butt look strange (maybe cellulite-y).

I don’t like to body-shame, but if you’re going to go around starkers, you better look pretty good doing it.

      • Hubbahun says:

No cellulite would be so 2013. She rocks a 70’s vibe, don’t forget 😛 (That phrase will make me gag FOREVER).

      • Faye says:

@Hubbahun — Silly me! *smacks forehead* I was remembering that whole “I eat no carbs/fat/dairy/anything but air” comment — but that was from, like, a whole 3 weeks ago :).

    • Pandy says:

I saw a few wrinkles under her stripper butt in a different pic. Not so perfect, wah waaaah.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Tracy Anderson would never let any of her clients take their (former) disaster bodies out in public like this. I am sure she closely inspected Goop’s hind quarters to ensure there wasn’t one lump before letting her out in this.

  8. OriginallyBlue says:

Elegant and classy? I don’t think so. Obviously Goop had a huge ego but these paid butt lickers are keeping it at its overinflated level. I guess they are working for those cheques. Also I cannot believe she actually has a stylist.

  9. Jane says:

What’s the mystery. She wants the spotlight and brother did she get it. The star of Iron Man is Robert Downey Jr., but you would never know it. She is the person people are talking about, not him, and I think this is what she wanted. The movie does not need this, but SHE does…daily blog posts and stories.

  10. lady mary. says:

isn’t that why she was in therapy ; for excessive self worth

    • Charlotte says:

That’s like in Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason book; Bridget’s mother has to have therapy for her over-inflated sense of self-worth and extreme confidence despite her many major screw-ups

  11. Jules says:

You know, the thing is…Paltrow just bores me. Extreme narcissism always does.

    • annaloo. says:

I am with you on this 10+++++. She really is boring and bland? Watchign supposed “perfectionism” gets boring, and I’m craving sauce!

She needs to spilled the beans about Brad, or how it went down between her and Winona, or SOMETHING. Who cares about quinoa. Her face looks like quinoa! She has the personality of quinoa!

  12. lisa2 says:

It is and will always be an ugly dress. I think they are trying so hard to make it a thing. Make it controversial. People have worn ugly dresses at ever event. And I don’t see their stylist coming forward to make statements because the public doesn’t like a dress.

This whole lets reinvent Gwenny and make her happen is annoying. This is exactly like when she was going to be a “singer” She was on every show and out there. Then that movie Country Strong failed and she stopped the singing and promoting. Now we get Goop advice and She is the “New Iron Woman”.. Iron Man would make loads of money without her. And she is working the promotion like this is her movie and she is the headliner. I would be interested to see how a film that she is in outside this franchise does. Has she headlined another movie since CS.. I don’t think so. And what exactly has she said about the film. Now her life that she claimed for years was off limits, private so open for all kinds of discussion.

    somebody wants to BE..

    OK..done with Mrs. Paltrow

    • Agnes says:

You know, yeah, whatever happened to her “I want to be a singer” phase? She comes off as a bored, rich housewife who comes up with random shit to do between smoking and drinking.

  13. j.eyre says:

I need to start using “false fakeness” and “no daring” in my everyday language.

    • littlestar says:

Lol! I had a good chuckle at “false fakeness” too. Doesn’t that make it a double negative somehow? 😀

      • j.eyre says:

He leads my new favorite combination of words with a ‘don’t’ which equals ‘no’ so it’s a rare triple. My husband and I were just discussing what follows a double negative – a mission statement? This is uncharted linguistic territory and I am both excited and terrified at the same time. I mean, it’s almost daring in a no daring way.

      • littlestar says:

I think I’m going to use it as a way to describe someone from now on. For example, “I just cannot put up with her false fakeness anymore!” Which might mean she’s not really fake, but a completely non-superficial person??? 😀

  14. JFerber says:

Also, this girl is no girl. Maybe that’s her basic problem. She wants to be a 40 year old IT girl. There’s nothing wrong with being a woman, Gwyn.

  15. Pixie says:

It makes me giggle to imagine the conversations in Goop’s house when she decided to wear that dress.
Chris: Yes darling you look wonderful (not really looking, instead he’s searching for an ACTUAL 22 year old stripper)
Goop is too wrapped up in a glow of her own beautiful and goddessness (and searching for a razor) to realise the people round her are snickering at her.
And poor Apple and Moses are hiding in their rooms, eating good food snuck to them by Chris, dreading school the next day.
I really want to go for an evenign at Goops.

    • Faye says:

This was hilarious! Someone should do a YouTube parody of this. For some reason, the image of Apple and Moses noshing in secret (while fervently praying away the image of their half-naked Mummy) cracked me up the most.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

“It’s OK, Apple and Moses..here’s an Oreo. Because daddy loves you enough to let you have one item of processed food a day. Just dont tell Mum. Run along now.”

  16. Eleonor says:

I can’t believe we are still here talking about thos ideus dress!!!

  17. Hakura says:

That stylist must be getting paid a pretty penny.

  18. poppy says:

saltzman SUCKS. if you have to verbally explain how/why you style someone the way you do you FAILED as a stylist.
unless she REALLY hates goop and making her look as bad as possible is the ultimate goal.
seriously, if every designer is fighting over who gets to dress goop, why such sh¡t choices most of the time? what’s with the job saving explanation?

“you don’t see a whole lot of fakeness” sounds like goop’s pretty fake, just not kartrashian fake? just a goop amount of fakeness? seems like that is still a lot of fakeness.

    ps VULGAR and UGLY

  19. Elisabeth says:

she hasn’t been a ‘girl’ for quite some time.

  20. DanaG says:

Nothing like a paid opinion. Of course she is going to say it was elegant no one else thinks it was and I’m thinking she has no idea what the meaning of class or elegant actually is. Gwen couldn’t love herself anymore and that is just so annoying and always has been I’m surprised she has enough time to stop looking in the mirror.

  21. Faye says:

    Love this sycophantic opening:

“Haters gonna hate, but Gwyneth Paltrow
is getting the last laugh. ”

No, we don’t “hate.” Gwyneth is too pathetic to hate. And she isn’t getting the last laugh — I have a feeling a lot of people, like me, were also laughing. At her.

LOL at her stylist — the more she rambled, the sadder it was. If you have to explain something that much, it means it’s a problem.

    • Sparky says:

Yes. There is a difference between ridicule and hatred. Ridicule is usually deservedly brought on and hatred has or needs not reason/basis.

  22. thatttbitch says:

Really ?? Goop..I personally do not understand how a woman can go commando..it’s just so disgusting..and tacky

    • akua says:

What I don’t understand is how she apparently didn’t realize until the last minute that she couldn’t wear underwear with it! Really? How is that something nobody noticed, doesn’t make sense.

      • Beatrice says:

Great point–I thought red carpet dresses were selected way in advance because several fittings were usually necessary. Perhaps GOOP has such a perfect figure alterations were not required.

      • Kristin says:

Because every single thing she says or does is calculated for a reaction. Remember when she wore that backless dress that showed off the circular bruises on her back from “cupping”? She tried to act so surprised from all the attention she got from that, and claimed that she “forgot” about the cupping bruises. Exact same situation. Like she didn’t damn well know that everyone would be talking about it afterward. Everything she does is done in a calculated attempt to get attention.

      • Original Me says:

It’s kind of like when Julia Roberts “forgot” to shave under her arms and then went around waving at everyone in a strapless dress. Everything people do in HW is calculated to get attention.

    • Maria says:

I hate to be graphic but I don’t get it. Between ovulation, and an erratic period, once peri menopause hits, there is always the chance of ‘stuff’…. I suppose a tampon is necessary for any ‘just in cases’….ovulation time can be a bit messy…. am I the only one that would think this?…

      • littlestar says:

I thought the same too! I said below that I don’t mind the dress, but I personally wouldn’t go panty-less in a dress. It would be too “goopy” that way, if you catch my meaning! Lol.

  23. scarlett says:

I’m embarrassed for her. Between this attention-seeking dress and the obvious paid for People Magasine “Most Beautiful” cover..she just reeks of desperation. It’s sad because you know Gwyneth “never” reeks of desperation because that kind of thing is for C-listers. Sorry Gwyneth, you come off as desperate and the whole “needed to shave” thing is just your way of appearing down to earth and self deprecating. Epic fail.

  24. TXCinderella says:

Stylist? Why does she need a stylist? I thought she liked to do everything herself. Confidence? Oh we all know she has a overly high regard for herself and the rest of us as just peasants.

  25. Charlotte says:

If you don’t fawn all over the GOOP, you’re a ‘hater’. Right. I can’t muster enough enthusiasm for her to hate her; I’ll admit to being a ‘meh’ on her.

  26. lower-case deb says:

sounds like one of those movie taglines/voiceovers.

“this girl has taste…. this girl has confidence… this girl can… haz cheezburger?
coming to a theater nowhere near you…”

  27. JennJ says:

Oh goodness, that stylist needs to get out of her LA bubble for a bit.
The only places I want to ever see stranger’s fleshy bits are a locker room and a beach where I am expecting to.

I wouldn’t want to be at a party, having a lovely time, and have to think about someone else’s bum. Even if I brush off the thought and move on, it’s still intrusive and annoying.

Remember when the upper classes had etiquette lessons and prided themselves on their manners? Good manners are supposed to be about making others feel at ease so that social interactions are pleasant.

I think that she has some work to do if she wants to be thought of as one of the elite.

  28. lisa says:

i think she has taken a page out of the kdash playbook and just wants to be talked about, she wont be picky about what people say

it’s too bad because she really shouldnt be stooping to that level. i was never a fan but she used to have a legitimate acting career.

  29. Nicolette says:

This girl is a snob elitist.

  30. Ann says:

“Gwyneth manages to bridge the gap of glamour and modernity,” he told the magazine. “She makes things look iconic!”

Designers are such pretentious nitwits; they should neither be seen nor heard.

  31. c'est la vie says:

All of these toadys get paid by Goop – enough said.
Though the thought of Goop and her razor make me nauseated. Again, enough said.

  32. Nicole says:

The truly sad part is her butt is too flat to pull off this dress. She clearly has solid, muscular legs but girl ain’t got the booty to pull of those sheer hip slits.

    • Sparky says:

She’s been trying to stick it out lately, but it’s not helping lol. She’s so lying about her workout habits as well, no muscle tone looks frail. Once you get in really good shape, you only have to work out a few times a week or less. TrusT. Her appearance looks like cigarettes, pot, adderall and alchohol. It’s just that skinny people hide it well and also get the undeserved ‘fit’ label. In 10 years she will be in Demi Moore territory.

  33. Jayna says:

Chris isn’t banging her anymore, and she’s desperate for attention.

  34. valleymiss says:

Even if the dress didn’t have those godawful sheer panels…it’s an UGLY dress. She gets no credit from me for wearing some ugly, which on top of that also is super revealing.

  35. Mar says:

    The dress is awful

  36. Spaz says:

She’s really showing off that vitamin deficient osteopenia body. That’s very healthy!

  37. lucy2 says:

There’s no “false fakeness”…nope, just true fakeness!

There is not elegant or beautiful about that dress, IMO, and nothing classy about wearing a dress that causes the need for a razor and then discussing that on TV.
I also don’t think there’s anything happy or (mentally) healthy about Goop – she seems incredible desperate, needy, and obsessive.

  38. Diva says:

No, the dress is ugly no matter what Gwyneth’s cheering squad says.

  39. Kelly says:

“This girl has money she’s going to throw my way” is more like it.

When I think of all the gorgeous, flattering and edgy dresses out there she can buy it kills me she would wear this. Do you remember the goth dress she wore with no bra? Another great look.

  40. Emily says:

Paltrow drips self-hatred. And the most interesting thing she can think to talk about is her shaving habits. Sad.

  41. Lindi says:

I completly disagree in that I too think this is a gorgeou interesting dress that looks very good on her

    • moon says:

      I agree with you

    • Barhey says:

I’m so ashamed because the universal consensus seems to be that this dress is extremely ugly. I wouldn’t say my fashion sense is that out there or quirky but I really like it!

I mean, it does show off too much skin, I will you give that. But the subtle blend of fabric and colors, the kimono sleeves, the faux peplum – I just love it!

Her personality on the other hand…well lets just say I agree with everyone on this board haha.

  42. Sparky says:

She has neither and her sheepish girly act at the recent Iron Man premier is hardly a projection of condidence. Just look at the pics above, is that a confident woman? Confident people never explain or backpeddle.
Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie exude confidence. Goop exudes spoiled daddy’s girl.

  43. moon says:

Am I the only one who thinks this dress actually looks nice from the front?

  44. Agnes says:

I love that her dumbass stylist said “false fakeness”. So, Goop is fake, but in an honest way?

  45. Renee says:

Gwynnie, confident people don’t feel the need to talk about themselves constantly. They confide in THEMSELVES, see the difference? However I’m sure in the presence of your slaves and suckups cofidence is no problem and I am confident you live in your own little highly manufactured dream world. Toodles.

  46. PortlandJan says:

“This girl has taste, this girl has confidence”. of course, we’ll forget that this girl has no underwear and that she is, furthermore, no longer a girl.
I have to wonder how Robert Downey Jr. feels about all this. It’s HIS movie, HE is the lead yet all anyone can talk about is Goop’s disastrous taste in formalwear. He’s probably told his PR team “Keep this overprivileged twat away from me!”

    • RdyfrmycloseupmrDvlle says:

I think after two kids its safe to say your no longer “a girl”…….if thats how everyone around her looks at her and she fosters that environment with her endless naval gazing and self absorbtion that says a lot that she chose those words to describe her.
A girl. I silly, spoiled, girl.
After two kids you dont demand to be called a woman??

  47. SydneySpy says:

If she has so much style and class, why does she need a stylist? And what is “false fakeness”?

  48. DGO says:

She looks unhealthy – the dry, straw-like hair, the skinny-fat body (forget what the medical term is for that), the bad skin. She could look so much better if she ate a healthy diet and didn’t obsess about everything so much.

    • Lulu.T.O. says:

Skinny fat? I honestly don’t think she fits in that category. Her body is insane. Her hair and
      skin OTOH…

      • Renee says:

Stick figure bodies are insane? What? A ruler has more curves lol.

      • DGO says:

There’s a medical term for thinness that accompanies muscle wasting. It can happen with extreme carb restriction or over-exercise with insufficient calories. I don’t think her weight is too low. I think she just doesn’t have healthy definition.

      • hazeldazel says:

yes she is skinny-fat. she actually has a high percentage of body fat but low percentage of muscle and low bone density. (she has talked about having osteopenia.) You get “skinny-fat” by doing traditional dieting, i.e. severely restricting calories and doing lots of cardio. Note the excessively dried out hair and skin. She’s very thin but probably pretty unhealthy.

    • Emily says:

She looks unhealthy and unhappy. There’s this air of desperation about her these days that I find really uncomfortable to see.

  49. Lulu.T.O. says:

I don’t mind her so much now that we have seen how a truly b*tchy blond Reese is. At least Paltrow isn’t mean.

    • Sparky says:

I think the many waitstaff or other various ‘peons’ who have experienced Ms Paltrow through the years would disagree.

      • Kelly says:

Yep, I think she can “Mean Girl” with the best of them.

      • RdyfrmycloseupmrDvlle says:

In SoHo, nyc, she was shockingly rude to someone who didnt wrap her items fast enough for her because she wanted to get home to her daughter more quickly.
The girl was trying to wrap her stuff and she grabbed the items out of the girls hands and shoved them in the bag violently and snottily said “I told you I need to get out of here.” She is impatient, condescending and flat out rude. I would never wait on her.

  50. nuzzybear says:

Of the women I admire who have taste and confidence, none of them are called “girl” – especially at age 40.

  51. Lemon says:

She has a narcissistic personality defined by her extreme preoccupation with herself. If you google it she seems to have all the symptoms. I feel bad for her kids.

  52. Miss M says:

I still like Goop. I just sit and laugh reading articles about her because things she says about herself or others say about her are just indefensible.

Talking about laughing, two things about this article that made me LOL:

    1- She was called “girl”, b*tch please… she’s 40!!!
2- The quote about “false fakeness” was too much! hahahaha

For the love of God, fire this peasant stylist Goop! hahahaha

  53. patata says:

I met her stylist a few months ago while I was at work. I told her that she looked familiar and she said the same thing about me and after 30 seconds of going back and forth she admitted to being a stylist. she said that she was off to LA to style Gw. She was very nice, polite, and down to earth. No matter what she puts Gw in in the future, I will always remember her for Gw’s 2012 oscar gown, one of my all time favorites.

    • Miss M says:

Now, I felt bad for asking Goop to fire her, 🙁

      • patata says:

Everyone has their own opinion regarding fashion…. I just wanted to put out there that she seemed nice, at least she was nice to me.

  54. Mon says:

What is it with her and threatening? She seems to think that people dislike her because they feel threatened by her (cos she’s sooooo much better than everybody else), which I suppose is a convenient excuse to have when you choose not to look at your own actions, but it’s just quite sad to watch… She comes across as someone who has a strong desire to feel liked and accepted by others, but somehow manages to achieve the exact opposite! Stop trying so hard love and just show how you really are and you might just have a chance to achieve what you want. Some people will still hate you, sure, but not because you are a pretentious, in your face, deluded bitch!
She really must be desperate at the moment as she has even done a Skype session via msn.co.uk with her fans….

  55. TxGal says:

So Ms. Perfect needs a stylist (LOL).

That really is a ugly dress. Ms. Uppity really has an inflated ego to believe she looks beautiful and thinks she is a young chick. She is laughable.

  56. Tragic Sandwich says:

Who looks at that dress and thinks, “Oh, I can wear underwear with that”?

I don’t like the dress, but that’s a separate issue.

  57. littlestar says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually don’t think the dress is that bad. If it didn’t have such big oversized sleeves, I think it would look a lot nicer. The see through parts on the side don’t even bother me that much. I think if she didn’t make such a big deal about it, and about having to shave her “goop muff” (lol love that!), it wouldn’t be such a big issue in the media.

Edit: On a side note, I don’t think I could go commando in a dress.

  58. Mia says:

I find Gwenyth annoying. Sometimes she wears really great clothing, but this was not one of those times. Her stylist made a misstep and he should own up to it.

She may have liked the dress, but this is an attention whore dress and she absolutely, in every way shape and form, knew it when she put it on. Regardless of weather you like the dress or not, you noticed it and have been talking about it for a week! Good press move.

I agree with just about every comment on this post, just a few things to add:

    1. In all of the photos from this premiere I keep having an initial flash of Kelly Ripa — Goop looks so much like her now.

    2. Why does she bleach her eyebrows? We know she’s not a natural blonde and her eyebrows are obviously bleached just like her hair. But in photos, they look so washed out that they don’t help define her face as brows should (I’ll always remember a quote from Jeremy Renner, former makeup artist: “lips and brows, frame the face.” Goopy needs Jeremy to come over and give her some pointers.

    3. She’s become like some weird hybrid of her character from “Emma” and Mrs. Elton. Emma was entitled and clueless and Mrs. Elton was a generally vapid and shallow person who used the “my friends tell me” method of complimenting herself. Too much!

I Actually really liked the dress (and I REALLY dislike goop) but I don’t understand how she could claim to be “so embarrassed” about it showing her butt like she hadn’t looked at herself in the mirror..she should have just owned it despite the backlash

  62. RdyfrmycloseupmrDvlle says:

…This dress and her wearing it is an example of what is wrong with her in general. She simply doesnt see how she comes off either as a person or how she looks. Personally, I think shes a high functioning aspergers. She will never see or understand herself objectively. Sad. And, she really, REALLY, needs to eat.

  63. Lauren says:

Goop looks really uncomfortable in that dress. The expression on her face, kind of a “false fakeness.” But seriously, her forehead is kind of scrunched up and in every photo she seems self-conscious, like she is wondering what the peasants think of her.

  64. Original Me says:

GP has no self awareness. If she did she wouldn’t say 90% of the things she says. The dress is just ugly and unflattering and she has the same old dry looking stick straight hair. And don’t forget the wan smile.

  65. Hawk says:

My God, if Gwen talks this much about a stupid dress, imagine what she’s going to be like when she and the hubby break up?
And we all know that’s coming.

  66. Kay says:

Did goop put her stylist up to this?? I think she’s milking all the publicity she can out of this dress fiasco.

    i must say i liked the dress…..

what made it ultimately have a basic vibe was that hair….it was a modern almost geisha dress (very Japanese vibe) paired with california girl beachy hippie flat ironed unhealthy hair and super tan skin…..THATS LIKE HMMMMMM what the f….

it was a bold dress she should have did her hair in a modern yet subtely origami inspired type hair…..or atleast paired it with a rich yet dep read lip andstaright hair and NO earrings then it would have looked like true fashion and art.

she just looked like a beach hippie in a costume….

that said the dress was AWESOME and with her height and slender build it fell on her body great.

please dont hate her unneccesarily….i know she’s can be elitist and pompous but a lot of actors act this way once they have an oscar under their belts…that earnest humble shtick ends after oscars trust. its ingenue behavior.

She has a flat butt . End of story . Strippers get stripper butts by dancing in high heels for 8 hour shifts , not from spending 2,000 a month to flail around like a cracked out chicken .
I really hate the look on her face in the pic where she is doing the side pose. I’m all for different body types, and fearless fashion, but I think Goop has no idea that confidence and style can’t be bought just in the same way that you can’t buy a country singing career, or a 20 year old stripper butt.
I like the dress on Gwen Stefani , and heck I’m surprised Kim k hasn’t worn this dress during her pregnancy yet .
