With nearly every awards show, I wait to see what gawd-awful confection Heidi Klum will wear. Surprise! She actually fared pretty well (for Heidi) in a Giorgio Armani gown. Leave it to Heidi to wear a full-on gown to a relatively minor awards show. All eyes must be on her. The sad part is that Heidi wore the best dress of this bunch. It’s all downhill from here, folks.
Heidi chose a gown with a dramatic plunging neckline, and her body does look great. I especially think the dress looks cool from a back and view (and away from the harsh white background of this red carpet). Heidi accessorized with ginormous bejeweled Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Louboutin pumps. Her hair is probably what I like best out of her own ensemble. The hybrid braid/twist is just right for this dress. I’m just not sure this dress is right for the event. Oh well, it’s Heidi. She can’t do simple.
Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s dress isn’t that awful really, but it is boring. Sarah Michelle won the Favorite Actress in a New TV Series award for her role in The Crazy Ones. For her big moment, she wore an understated Sachin + Babi dress in black and white. The dress is lovely but hung on SMG’s body. Perhaps a little more tailoring would have helped, or maybe the dress was supposed to be loose. Whatever the case, Sarah could have brought a little more fun and drama to the red carpet. Those smokey eyes tell the tale of what could have been.
Lucy Hale‘s Gabriela Cadena dress is actually interesting from a close-up view. The abstract, exploding-flower print is quite pretty. From a distance though, Lucy looks like a bunch of street taggers covered her in spray paint. That’s not a terrible thing if one is going for a dramatic look, but the ordinary black pumps ruin that vibe. Shiny silver shoes would have been better. Lucy scored well in the hair and makeup department.
Melissa Joan Hart may have believed she was attending the Country Music Awards. Mel wore a shiny pink-and-gold strapless mullet frock. This dress is so dated and actually would have fit right in during Mel’s 1990s heyday. Her clutch is Oroton. Melissa also went too matchy matchy with the makeup, which is the same shade of pink as seen on the flowers of her dress. This look is way too girly.
Melissa Rauch (Big Bang Theory) decided she was going big or going home in this hot pink strapless Rubin Singer gown. This is almost a strapless fancy toga because of the “wrapped” effect. Oh well, you can’t say she didn’t try. The hair is a little bit lazy though. Maybe an updo would have helped? Nah.

Me too. Although, I think Heidi looks horrible. The dress makes her look quite boxy, like she has no waist.
Sarah has bleached her eyebrows into oblivion. Also her dress length is not flattering on anyone..

Something is very off with Sarah lately. Good point about the eyebrows. I also think this shade of blonde doesn’t match her skin color. She looks awful. She needs to go back to her brown-gold locks.
Heidi’s dress was horrible, it did nothing for her curves. It looked like it was falling off. I’m so over that wide plunging neckline.
I’m so over Heidi style of dressing. Almost all her dresses have the same theme, plunging necklines. BTW I don’t like that dress at all.

Heidi would have looked better with a less severe hairstyle. I’m not crazy about the dress either, but admit she can pull it off.
I don’t know who Lucy Hail is but she looks cute to me. And I love Melissa Rauch’s in-your-face hot pink dress!

oh, and i’d like to mention that she presented some awards with Joseph Morgan who won favorite actor? best actor? in a new TV series (The Originals) . i love him!!
I didn’t like the overhang/flap?? on Heidi’s dress,but do like the fabric. Lucy Hale looks cute, and SG looked OK- but dress would have benefitted from a different color combo.
Was listening to EW talk panel yesterday, and they were howling over all the prize “categories”- it really was crazy.
I like the upper half of SMG’s dress, but that’s it. Between the dress, hair, and makeup she looks way older than her age.
Yeah, she looks too prissy or something, and it don’t really mind prissy, but it’s aging her. Matronly.

Heidi’s hair is terrible! Good grief. I like the design of her dress but not the fabric. I agree that of these Sarah looked best.
I wish SMG would darken her hair, the very washed out blonde makes her look so much older.

Blonde hair is very difficult. It’s either a hit or a miss. She had a lovely color back in the day of Buffy.

I like Heidi because I watch Project Runway and she just grew on me. She seems like she’d be fun to hang out with. She has a good sense of humor and she seems sweet. I do wish she would tone it done on the red carpet, though. She’s so beautiful, but her fashion is usually awful and she’s not happy unless something, usually more than one thing, is about to pop out somewhere. I think her hair looks weird but cute here.

Heidi looks great for, say, the Golden Globes, but I think she’s just a hair overdressed for this. I really like Lucy Hale’s dress…I can’t wear prints but I sure do love them on others 😀 Melissa Joan Hart seems to never have left 1996.
I like Heidi but for a former fashion model she has the most bazaar taste in gowns. There is always something that makes a beautiful gown she chooses or wears just horrid. Normally too much flesh for her,in some odd place or two high slits when one would be excellent. She tends to gravitate to anything odd and its not attractive. The whole purpose of a evening gown. It should state I am women,soft,lovely,the definition of femininity.Just flowing,ravishingly beautiful and if you cross my line I kill you! but Im all women.
May be time ladies start covering up the girls a little more.Just not attractive.

I saw the awards show and I thought Heidi’s dress did her no favors. It was too much, maybe too big, and made her look larger than she is, and then there was that plunging neckline that showed her boobies just a little too much, so a big NO on her dress……I’ve seen her look a lot better, but it seems her style is hit and miss, so ya never know. I think she’s just a free spirit and likes to try different things, doesn’t give a damn what people think…..so you gotta love her!
